4장
34 또 메소밥과 야믈렉과 아마시야의 아들 요사와
34 Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah the son of Amaziah,
35 요엘과 아시엘의 증손 스라야의 손자 요시비야의 아들 예후와
35 Joel, Jehu the son of Joshibiah, son of Seraiah, son of Asiel,
36 또 엘료에내와 야아고바와 여소하야와 아사야와 아디엘과 여시미엘과 브나야와
36 Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,
37 또 스마야의 오대 손 시므리의 현손 여다야의 증손 알론의 손자 시비의 아들은 시사이니
37 Ziza the son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah&emdash;
38 여기 기록된 것들은 그들의 종족과 그들의 가문의 지도자들의 이름이라 그들이 매우 번성한지라
38 these mentioned by name were princes in their clans,and their fathers' houses increased greatly.
39 그들이 그들의 양 떼를 위하여 목장을 구하고자 하여 골짜기 동쪽 그돌 지경에 이르러
39 They journeyed to the entrance ofGedor, to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks,
40 기름지고 아름다운 목장을 발견하였는데 그 땅이 넓고 안정 되고 평안하니 이는 옛적부터 거기에 거주해 온 사람은 함의 자손인 까닭이라
40 where they found rich, good pasture, and the land was very broad,quiet, and peaceful, for the former inhabitants there belonged to Ham.
41 이 명단에 기록된 사람들이 유다 왕 히스기야 때에 가서 그들의 장막을 쳐서 무찌르고 거기에 있는 모우님 사람을 쳐서 진멸하고 대신하여 오늘까지 거기에 살고 있으니 이는 그들의 양 떼를 먹일 목장이 거기에 있음이며
41 These, registered by name, came in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and destroyed their tents and the Meunites who were found there, and marked them for destruction to this day,and settled in their place, because there was pasture there for their flocks.
42 또 시므온 자손 중에 오백 명이 이시의 아들 블라댜와 느아랴와 르바야와 웃시엘을 두목으로 삼고 세일 산으로 가서
42 And some of them, five hundred men of the Simeonites, went toMount Seir, having as their leaders Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
43 피신하여 살아남은 아말렉 사람을 치고 오늘까지 거기에 거주하고 있더라
43 And they defeatedthe remnant of the Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.
5장
1 이스라엘의 장자 르우벤의 아들들은 이러하니라 (르우벤은 장자라도 그의 아버지의 침상을 더럽혔으므로 장자의 명분이 이스라엘의 아들 요셉의 자손에게로 돌아가서 족보에 장자의 명분대로 기록되지 못하였느니라
1 The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but becausehe defiled his father's couch,his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, so that he could not be enrolled as the oldest son;
2 유다는 형제보다 뛰어나고 주권자가 유다에게서 났으나 장자의 명분은 요셉에게 있으니라)
2 though Judah became strong among his brothers and achief came from him, yet the birthright belonged to Joseph),
3 이스라엘의 장자 르우벤의 아들들은 하녹과 발루와 헤스론과 갈미요
3 thesons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 요엘의 아들은 스마야요 그의 아들은 곡이요 그의 아들은 시므이요
4 The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
5 그의 아들은 미가요 그의 아들은 르아야요 그의 아들은 바알이요
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
6 그의 아들은 브에라이니 그는 르우벤 자손의 지도자로서 앗수르 왕 디글랏빌레셀에게 사로잡힌 자라
6 Beerah his son, whomTiglath-pileserking of Assyria carried away into exile; he was a chief of the Reubenites.
7 그의 형제가 종족과 계보대로 우두머리 된 자는 여이엘과 스가랴와
7 And his kinsmen by their clans,when the genealogy of their generations was recorded: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
8 벨라니 벨라는 아사스의 아들이요 세마의 손자요 요엘의 증손이라 그가 아로엘에 살면서 느보와 바알므온까지 다다랐고
8 and Bela the son of Azaz, son ofShema, son of Joel, who lived inAroer, as far asNebo andBaal-meon.
9 또 동으로 가서 거주하면서 유브라데 강에서부터 광야 지경까지 다다랐으니 이는 길르앗 땅에서 그 가축이 번식함이라
9 He also lived to the east as far as the entrance of the desert this side of the Euphrates, because their livestock had multipliedin the land of Gilead.
10 사울 왕 때에 그들이 하갈 사람과 더불어 싸워 손으로 쳐죽이고 길르앗 동쪽 온 땅에서 장막에 거주하였더라
10 And in the days of Saul they waged war against theHagrites, who fell into their hand. And they lived in their tents throughout all the region east of Gilead.
11 갓 자손은 르우벤 사람을 마주 대하여 바산 땅에 거주하면서 살르가까지 다다랐으니
11 The sons of Gad lived over against them in the land of Bashan as far asSalecah:
12 우두머리는 요엘이요 다음은 사밤이요 또 야내와 바산에 산 사밧이요
12 Joel the chief, Shapham the second, Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 그 조상의 가문의 형제들은 미가엘과 므술람과 세바와 요래와 야간과 시아와 에벨 일곱 명이니
13 And their kinsmen according to their fathers' houses: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia and Eber, seven.
14 이는 다 아비하일의 아들들이라 아비하일은 후리의 아들이요 야로아의 손자요 길르앗의 증손이요 미가엘의 현손이요 여시새의 오대 손이요 야도의 육대 손이요 부스의 칠대 손이며
14 These were the sons of Abihail the son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz.
15 또 구니의 손자 압디엘의 아들 아히가 우두머리가 되었고
15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was chief in their fathers' houses,
16 그들이 바산 길르앗과 그 마을과 사론의 모든 들에 거주하여 그 사방 변두리에 다다랐더라
16 and they lived in Gilead, in Bashan and in its towns, and in all the pasturelands ofSharon to their limits.
17 이상은 유다 왕 요담 때와 이스라엘 왕 여로보암 때에 족보에 기록되었더라
17 All of these were recorded in genealogies in the days ofJotham king of Judah, and in the days ofJeroboam king of Israel.사도행전
25장
13 수일 후에 아그립바 왕과 버니게가 베스도에게 문안하러 가이사랴에 와서
13 Now when some days had passed, Agrippa the king and Bernice arrived at Caesarea and greeted Festus.
14 여러 날을 있더니 베스도가 바울의 일로 왕에게 고하여 이르되 벨릭스가 한 사람을 구류하여 두었는데
14 And as they stayed there many days, Festus laid Paul's case before the king, saying,There is a man left prisoner by Felix,
15 내가 예루살렘에 있을 때에 유대인의 대제사장들과 장로들이 그를 고소하여 정죄하기를 청하기에
15 and when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews laid out their caseagainst him, asking for a sentence of condemnation against him.
16 내가 대답하되 무릇 피고가 원고들 앞에서 고소 사건에 대하여 변명할 기회가 있기 전에 내주는 것은 로마 사람의 법이 아니라 하였노라
16 I answered them that it was not the custom of the Romans to give up anyonebefore the accused met the accusers face to face and had opportunity to make his defense concerning the charge laid against him.
17 그러므로 그들이 나와 함께 여기 오매 내가 지체하지 아니하고 이튿날 재판 자리에 앉아 명하여 그 사람을 데려왔으나
17 So when they came together here, I made no delay, but on the next day took my seat onthe tribunal and ordered the man to be brought.
18 원고들이 서서 내가 짐작하던 것 같은 악행의 혐의는 하나도 제시하지 아니하고
18 When the accusers stood up, they brought no charge in his case of such evils as I supposed.
19 오직 자기들의 종교와 또는 예수라 하는 이가 죽은 것을 살아 있다고 바울이 주장하는 그 일에 관한 문제로 고발하는 것뿐이라
19 Rather theyhad certain points of dispute with him about their own religion and abouta certain Jesus, who was dead, but whom Paul asserted to be alive.
20 내가 이 일에 대하여 어떻게 심리할는지 몰라서 바울에게 묻되 예루살렘에 올라가서 이 일에 심문을 받으려느냐 한즉
20 Being at a loss how to investigate these questions, Iasked whether he wanted to go to Jerusalem and be tried there regarding them.
21 바울은 황제의 판결을 받도록 자기를 지켜 주기를 호소하므로 내가 그를 가이사에게 보내기까지 지켜 두라 명하였노라 하니
21 Butwhen Paul had appealed to be kept in custody for the decision ofthe emperor, I ordered him to be held until I could send him to Caesar.
22 아그립바가 베스도에게 이르되 나도 이 사람의 말을 듣고자 하노라 베스도가 이르되 내일 들으시리이다 하더라
22 ThenAgrippa said to Festus,I would like to hear the man myself.Tomorrow,said he,you will hear him.
23 이튿날 아그립바와 버니게가 크게 위엄을 갖추고 와서 천부장들과 시중의 높은 사람들과 함께 접견 장소에 들어오고 베스도의 명으로 바울을 데려오니
23 So on the next dayAgrippa and Bernice came with great pomp, and they entered the audience hall with the military tribunes and the prominent men of the city. Then, at the command of Festus, Paul was brought in.
24 베스도가 말하되 아그립바 왕과 여기 같이 있는 여러분이여 당신들이 보는 이 사람은 유대의 모든 무리가 크게 외치되 살려 두지 못할 사람이라고 하여 예루살렘에서와 여기서도 내게 청원하였으나
24 And Festus said,King Agrippa and all who are present with us, you see this man about whomthe whole Jewish people petitioned me, both in Jerusalem and here,shouting that he ought not to live any longer.
25 내가 살피건대 죽일 죄를 범한 일이 없더이다 그러나 그가 황제에게 상소한 고로 보내기로 결정하였나이다
25 But I found thathe had done nothing deserving death. Andas he himself appealed tothe emperor, I decided to go ahead and send him.
26 그에 대하여 황제께 확실한 사실을 아뢸 것이 없으므로 심문한 후 상소할 자료가 있을까 하여 당신들 앞 특히 아그립바 왕 당신 앞에 그를 내세웠나이다
26 But I have nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him before you all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that, after we have examined him, I may have something to write.
27 그 죄목도 밝히지 아니하고 죄수를 보내는 것이 무리한 일인 줄 아나이다 하였더라
27 For it seems to me unreasonable, in sending a prisoner, not to indicate the charges against him.
