창세기 (Genesis)
10:1-11:9
1 노아의 아들 셈과 함과 야벳의 족보는 이러하니라 홍수 후에 그들이 아들들을 낳았으니
1 This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah`s sons, who themselves had sons after the flood.
2 야벳의 아들은 고멜과 마곡과 마대와 야완과 두발과 메섹과 디라스요
2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras.
3 고멜의 아들은 아스그나스와 리밧과 도갈마요
3 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah.
4 야완의 아들은 엘리사와 달시스와 깃딤과 도다님이라
4 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim and the Rodanim.
5 이들로부터 여러 나라 백성으로 나뉘어서 각기 언어와 종족과 나라대로 바닷가의 땅에 머물렀더라
5 (From these the maritime peoples spread out into their territories by their clans within their nations, each with its own language.)
6 함의 아들은 구스와 미스라임과 붓과 가나안이요
6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan.
7 구스의 아들은 스바와 하윌라와 삽다와 라아마와 삽드가요 라아마의 아들은 스바와 드단이며
7 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
8 구스가 또 니므롯을 낳았으니 그는 세상에 첫 용사라
8 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on the earth.
9 그가 여호와 앞에서 용감한 사냥꾼이 되었으므로 속담에 이르기를 아무는 여호와 앞에 니므롯 같이 용감한 사냥꾼이로다 하더라
9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; that is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD."
10 그의 나라는 시날 땅의 바벨과 에렉과 악갓과 갈레에서 시작되었으며
10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon, Erech, Akkad and Calneh, in Shinar.
11 그가 그 땅에서 앗수르로 나아가 니느웨와 르호보딜과 갈라와
11 From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah
12 및 니느웨와 갈라 사이의 레센을 건설하였으니 이는 큰 성읍이라
12 and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.
13 미스라임은 루딤과 아나밈과 르하빔과 납두힘과
13 Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites,
14 바드루심과 가슬루힘과 갑도림을 낳았더라 (가슬루힘에게서 블레셋이 나왔더라)
14 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came) and Caphtorites.
15 가나안은 장자 시돈과 헷을 낳고
15 Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,
16 또 여부스 족속과 아모리 족속과 기르가스 족속과
16 Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,
17 히위 족속과 알가 족속과 신 족속과
17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18 아르왓 족속과 스말 족속과 하맛 족속을 낳았더니 이 후로 가나안 자손의 족속이 흩어져 나아갔더라
18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later the Canaanite clans scattered
19 가나안의 경계는 시돈에서부터 그랄을 지나 가사까지와 소돔과 고모라와 아드마와 스보임을 지나 라사까지였더라
19 and the borders of Canaan reached from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.
20 이들은 함의 자손이라 각기 족속과 언어와 지방과 나라대로였더라
20 These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
21 셈은 에벨 온 자손의 조상이요 야벳의 형이라 그에게도 자녀가 출생하였으니
21 Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber.
22 셈의 아들은 엘람과 앗수르와 아르박삿과 룻과 아람이요
22 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
23 아람의 아들은 우스와 훌과 게델과 마스며
23 The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech.
24 아르박삿은 셀라를 낳고 셀라는 에벨을 낳았으며
24 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber.
25 에벨은 두 아들을 낳고 하나의 이름을 벨렉이라 하였으니 그 때에 세상이 나뉘었음이요 벨렉의 아우의 이름은 욕단이며
25 Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.
26 욕단은 알모닷과 셀렙과 하살마웻(하살마웨ㅅ)과 예라와
26 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 하도람과 우살과 디글라와
27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 오발과 아비마엘과 스바와
28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
29 오빌과 하윌라와 요밥을 낳았으니 이들은 다 욕단의 아들이며
29 Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.
30 그들이 거주하는 곳은 메사에서부터 스발로 가는 길의 동쪽 산이었더라
30 The region where they lived stretched from Mesha toward Sephar, in the eastern hill country.
31 이들은 셈의 자손이니 그 족속과 언어와 지방과 나라대로였더라
31 These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
32 이들은 그 백성들의 족보에 따르면 노아 자손의 족속들이요 홍수 후에 이들에게서 그 땅의 백성들이 나뉘었더라
32 These are the clans of Noah`s sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.
11장
1 온 땅의 언어가 하나요 말이 하나였더라
1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.
2 이에 그들이 동방으로 옮기다가 시날 평지를 만나 거기 거류하며
2 As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
3 서로 말하되 자, 벽돌을 만들어 견고히 굽자 하고 이에 벽돌로 돌을 대신하며 역청으로 진흙을 대신하고
3 They said to each other, "Come, let`s make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.
4 또 말하되 자, 성읍과 탑을 건설하여 그 탑 꼭대기를 하늘에 닿게 하여 우리 이름을 내고 온 지면에 흩어짐을 면하자 하였더니
4 Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."
5 여호와께서 사람들이 건설하는 그 성읍과 탑을 보려고 내려오셨더라
5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.
6 여호와께서 이르시되 이 무리가 한 족속이요 언어도 하나이므로 이같이 시작하였으니 이 후로는 그 하고자 하는 일을 막을 수 없으리로다
6 The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.
7 자, 우리가 내려가서 거기서 그들의 언어를 혼잡하게 하여 그들이 서로 알아듣지 못하게 하자 하시고
7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
8 여호와께서 거기서 그들을 온 지면에 흩으셨으므로 그들이 그 도시를 건설하기를 그쳤더라
8 So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
9 그러므로 그 이름을 바벨이라 하니 이는 여호와께서 거기서 온 땅의 언어를 혼잡하게 하셨음이니라 여호와께서 거기서 그들을 온 지면에 흩으셨더라
9 That is why it was called Babel --because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.시편 (Psalms)

1 여호와여 나의 말에 귀를 기울이사 나의 심정을 헤아려 주소서
1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing.
2 나의 왕, 나의 하나님이여 내가 부르짖는 소리를 들으소서 내가 주께 기도하나이다
2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
3 여호와여 아침에 주께서 나의 소리를 들으시리니 아침에 내가 주께 기도하고 바라리이다
3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
4 주는 죄악을 기뻐하는 신이 아니시니 악이 주와 함께 머물지 못하며
4 You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.
5 오만한 자들이 주의 목전에 서지 못하리이다 주는 모든 행악자를 미워하시며
5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong.
6 거짓말하는 자들을 멸망시키시리이다 여호와께서는 피 흘리기를 즐기는 자와 속이는 자를 싫어하시나이다
6 You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.
7 오직 나는 주의 풍성한 사랑을 힘입어 주의 집에 들어가 주를 경외함으로 성전을 향하여 예배하리이다
7 But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.
8 여호와여 나의 원수들로 말미암아 주의 의로 나를 인도하시고 주의 길을 내 목전에 곧게 하소서
8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies-- make straight your way before me.
9 그들의 입에 신실함이 없고 그들의 심중이 심히 악하며 그들의 목구멍은 열린 무덤 같고 그들의 혀로는 아첨하나이다
9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they speak deceit.
10 하나님이여 그들을 정죄하사 자기 꾀에 빠지게 하시고 그 많은 허물로 말미암아 그들을 쫓아내소서 그들이 주를 배역함이니이다
10 Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
11 그러나 주께 피하는 모든 사람은 다 기뻐하며 주의 보호로 말미암아 영원히 기뻐 외치고 주의 이름을 사랑하는 자들은 주를 즐거워하리이다
11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 여호와여 주는 의인에게 복을 주시고 방패로 함 같이 은혜로 그를 호위하시리이다
12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
