25:19-26:35
19 아브라함의 아들 이삭의 후예는 이러하니라 아브라함이 이삭을 낳았고
19 This is the account of Abraham`s son Isaac. Abraham became the father of Isaac,
20 이삭은 사십세에 리브가를 취하여 아내를 삼았으니 리브가는 밧단 아람의 아람 족속 중 브두엘의 딸이요 아람 족속 중 라반의 누이였더라
20 and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram and sister of Laban the Aramean.
21 이삭이 그 아내가 잉태하지 못하므로 그를 위하여 여호와께 간구하매 여호와께서 그 간구를 들으셨으므로 그 아내 리브가가 잉태하였더니
21 Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.
22 아이들이 그의 태 속에서 서로 싸우는지라 그가 가로되 이같으면 내가 어찌할꼬 하고 가서 여호와께 묻자온대
22 The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, "Why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquire of the LORD.
23 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 두 국민이 네 태중에 있구나 두 민족이 네 복중에서부터 나누이리라 이 족속이 저 족속보다 강하겠고 큰 자는 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨더라
23 The LORD said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger."
24 그 해산 기한이 찬즉 태에 쌍동이가 있었는데
24 When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb.
25 먼저 나온 자는 붉고 전신이 갖옷 같아서 이름을 에서라 하였고
25 The first to come out was red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment; so they named him Esau.
26 후에 나온 아우는 손으로 에서의 발꿈치를 잡았으므로 그 이름을 야곱이라 하였으며 리브가가 그들을 낳을 때에 이삭이 육십세이었더라
26 After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau`s heel; so he was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah gave birth to them.
27 그 아이들이 장성하매 에서는 익숙한 사냥군인고로 들사람이 되고 야곱은 종용한 사람인고로 장막에 거하니
27 The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was a quiet man, staying among the tents.
28 이삭은 에서의 사냥한 고기를 좋아하므로 그를 사랑하고 리브가는 야곱을 사랑하였더라
28 Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 야곱이 죽을 쑤었더니 에서가 들에서부터 돌아와서 심히 곤비하여
29 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished.
30 야곱에게 이르되 내가 곤비하니 그 붉은 것을 나로 먹게 하라 한지라 그러므로 에서의 별명은 에돔이더라
30 He said to Jacob, "Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I`m famished!" (That is why he was also called Edom. )
31 야곱이 가로되 형의 장자의 명분을 오늘날 내게 팔라
31 Jacob replied, "First sell me your birthright."
32 에서가 가로되 내가 죽게 되었으니 이 장자의 명분이 내게 무엇이 유익하리요
32 Look, I am about to die, Esau said. "What good is the birthright to me?"
33 야곱이 가로되 오늘 내게 맹세하라 에서가 맹세하고 장자의 명분을 야곱에게 판지라
33 But Jacob said, "Swear to me first." So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.
34 야곱이 떡과 팥죽을 에서에게 주매 에서가 먹으며 마시고 일어나서 갔으니 에서가 장자의 명분을 경홀히 여김이었더라
34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.
26장
1 아브라함 때에 첫 흉년이 들었더니 그 땅에 또 흉년이 들매 이삭이 그랄로 가서 블레셋왕 아비멜렉에게 이르렀더니
1 Now there was a famine in the land--besides the earlier famine of Abraham`s time--and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar.
2 여호와께서 이삭에게 나타나 가라사대 애굽으로 내려가지말고 내가 네게 지시하는 땅에 거하라
2 The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, "Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live.
3 이 땅에 유하면 내가 너와 함께 있어 네게 복을 주고 내가 이 모든 땅을 너와 네 자손에게 주리라 내가 네 아비 아브라함에게 맹세한 것을 이루어
3 Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.
4 네 자손을 하늘의 별과 같이 번성케 하며 이 모든 땅을 네 자손에게 주리니 네 자손을 인하여 천하 만민이 복을 받으리라
4 I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed,
5 이는 아브라함이 내 말을 순종하고 내 명령과 내 계명과 내 율례와 내 법도를 지켰음이니라 하시니라
5 because Abraham obeyed me and kept my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws."
6 이삭이 그랄에 거하였더니
6 So Isaac stayed in Gerar.
7 그곳 사람들이 그 아내를 물으매 그가 말하기를 그는 나의 누이라 하였으니 리브가는 보기에 아리따우므로 그곳 백성이 리브가로 인하여 자기를 죽일까 하여 그는 나의 아내라 하기를 두려워함이었더라
7 When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, "She is my sister," because he was afraid to say, "She is my wife." He thought, "The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful."
8 이삭이 거기 오래 거하였더니 이삭이 그 아내 리브가를 껴안은 것을 블레셋 왕 아비멜렉이 창으로 내다본지라
8 When Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah.
9 이에 아비멜렉이 이삭을 불러 이르되 그가 정녕 네 아내여늘 어찌 네 누이라 하였느냐 이삭이 그에게 대답하되 내 생각에 그를 인하여 내가 죽게 될까 두려워하였음이로라
9 So Abimelech summoned Isaac and said, "She is really your wife! Why did you say, `She is my sister`?" Isaac answered him, "Because I thought I might lose my life on account of her."
10 아비멜렉이 가로되 네가 어찌 우리에게 이렇게 행하였느냐 백성 중 하나가 네 아내와 동침하기 쉬웠을뻔 하였은즉 네가 죄를 우리에게 입혔으리라
10 Then Abimelech said, "What is this you have done to us? One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us."
11 아비멜렉이 이에 모든 백성에게 명하여 가로되 이 사람이나 그 아내에게 범하는 자는 죽이리라 하였더라
11 So Abimelech gave orders to all the people: "Anyone who molests this man or his wife shall surely be put to death."
12 이삭이 그 땅에서 농사하여 그 해에 백배나 얻었고 여호와께서 복을 주시므로
12 Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him.
13 그 사람이 창대하고 왕성하여 마침내 거부가 되어
13 The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.
14 양과 소가 떼를 이루고 노복이 심히 많으므로 블레셋 사람이 그를 시기하여
14 He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.
15 그 아비 아브라함 때에 그 아비의 종들이 판 모든 우물을 막고 흙으로 메웠더라
15 So all the wells that his father`s servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth.
16 아비멜렉이 이삭에게 이르되 네가 우리보다 크게 강성한즉 우리를 떠나가라
16 Then Abimelech said to Isaac, "Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us."
17 이삭이 그곳을 떠나 그랄 골짜기에 장막을 치고 거기 우거하며
17 So Isaac moved away from there and encamped in the Valley of Gerar and settled there.
18 그 아비 아브라함 때에 팠던 우물들을 다시 팠으니 이는 아브라함 죽은 후에 블레셋 사람이 그 우물들을 메웠음이라 이삭이 그 우물들의 이름을 그 아비의 부르던 이름으로 불렀더라
18 Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them.
19 이삭의 종들이 골짜기에 파서 샘 근원을 얻었더니
19 Isaac`s servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there.
20 그랄 목자들이 이삭의 목자와 다투어 가로되 이 물은 우리의 것이라 하매 이삭이 그 다툼을 인하여 그 우물 이름을 에섹이라 하였으며
20 But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac`s herdsmen and said, "The water is ours!" So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him.
21 또 다른 우물을 팠더니 그들이 또 다투는고로 그 이름을 싯나라 하였으며
21 Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah.
22 이삭이 거기서 옮겨 다른 우물을 팠더니 그들이 다투지 아니하였으므로 그 이름을 르호봇이라 하여 가로되 이제는 여호와께서 우리의 장소를 넓게 하셨으니 이 땅에서 우리가 번성하리로다 하였더라
22 He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land."
23 이삭이 거기서부터 브엘세바로 올라갔더니
23 From there he went up to Beersheba.
24 그 밤에 여호와께서 그에게 나타나 가라사대 나는 네 아비 아브라함의 하나님이니 두려워 말라 내 종 아브라함을 위하여 내가 너와 함께 있어 네게 복을 주어 네 자손으로 번성케 하리라 하신지라
24 That night the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham."
25 이삭이 그곳에 단을 쌓아 여호와의 이름을 부르고 거기 장막을 쳤더니 그 종들이 거기서도 우물을 팠더라
25 Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the LORD. There he pitched his tent, and there his servants dug a well.
26 아비멜렉이 그 친구 아훗삿과 군대장관 비골로 더불어 그랄에서부터 이삭에게로 온지라
26 Meanwhile, Abimelech had come to him from Gerar, with Ahuzzath his personal adviser and Phicol the commander of his forces.
27 이삭이 그들에게 이르되 너희가 나를 미워하여 나로 너희를 떠나가게 하였거늘 어찌하여 내게 왔느냐
27 Isaac asked them, "Why have you come to me, since you were hostile to me and sent me away?"
28 그들이 가로되 여호와께서 너와 함께 계심을 우리가 분명히 보았으므로 우리의 사이 곧 우리와 너의 사이에 맹세를 세워 너와 계약을 맺으리라 말하였노라
28 They answered, "We saw clearly that the LORD was with you; so we said, `There ought to be a sworn agreement between us`-between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you
29 너는 우리를 해하지 말라 이는 우리가 너를 범하지 아니하고 선한 일만 네게 행하며 너로 평안히 가게 하였음이니라 이제 너는 여호와께 복을 받은 자니라
29 that you will do us no harm, just as we did not molest you but always treated you well and sent you away in peace. And now you are blessed by the LORD."
30 이삭이 그들을 위하여 잔치를 베풀매 그들이 먹고 마시고
30 Isaac then made a feast for them, and they ate and drank.
31 아침에 일찌기 일어나 서로 맹세한 후에 이삭이 그들을 보내매 그들이 평안히 갔더라
31 Early the next morning the men swore an oath to each other. Then Isaac sent them on their way, and they left him in peace.
32 그 날에 이삭의 종들이 자기들의 판 우물에 대하여 이삭에게 와서 고하여 가로되 우리가 물을 얻었나이다 하매
32 That day Isaac`s servants came and told him about the well they had dug. They said, "We`ve found water!"
33 그가 그 이름을 세바라 한지라 그러므로 그 성읍 이름이 오늘까지 브엘세바더라
33 He called it Shibah, and to this day the name of the town has been Beersheba.
34 에서가 사십세에 헷 족속 브에리의 딸 유딧과 헷 족속 엘론의 딸 바스맛을 아내로 취하였더니
34 When Esau was forty years old, he married Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and also Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite.
35 그들이 이삭과 리브가의 마음의 근심이 되었더라
35 They were a source of grief to Isaac and Rebekah.시편 (Psalms)

1 여호와여 정직함을 들으소서 나의 부르짖음에 주의하소서 거짓되지 않은 입술에서 나오는 내 기도에 귀를 기울이소서
1 Hear, O LORD, my righteous plea; listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer-- it does not rise from deceitful lips.
2 나의 판단을 주 앞에서 내시며 주의 눈은 공평함을 살피소서
2 May my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right.
3 주께서 내 마음을 시험하시고 밤에 나를 권고하시며 나를 감찰하셨으나 흠을 찾지 못하셨으니 내가 결심하고 입으로 범죄치 아니하리이다
3 Though you probe my heart and examine me at night, though you test me, you will find nothing; I have resolved that my mouth will not sin.
4 사람의 행사로 논하면 나는 주의 입술의 말씀을 좇아 스스로 삼가서 강포한 자의 길에 행치 아니하였사오며
4 As for the deeds of men-- by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent.
5 나의 걸음이 주의 길을 굳게 지키고 실족지 아니하였나이다
5 My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not slipped.
6 하나님이여 내게 응답하시겠는고로 내가 불렀사오니 귀를 기울여 내 말을 들으소서
6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer.
7 주께 피하는 자를 그 일어나 치는 자에게서 오른손으로 구원하시는 주여 주의 기이한 인자를 나타내소서
7 Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.
8 나를 눈동자 같이 지키시고 주의 날개 그늘 아래 감추사
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings
9 나를 압제하는 악인과 나를 에워싼 극한 원수에게서 벗어나게 하소서
9 from the wicked who assail me, from my mortal enemies who surround me.
10 저희가 자기 기름에 잠겼으며 그 입으로 교만히 말하나이다
10 They close up their callous hearts, and their mouths speak with arrogance.
11 이제 우리의 걸어가는 것을 저희가 에워싸며 주목하고 땅에 넘어뜨리려 하나이다
11 They have tracked me down, they now surround me, with eyes alert, to throw me to the ground.
12 저는 그 움킨 것을 찢으려 하는 사자 같으며 은밀한 곳에 엎드린 젊은 사자 같으니이다
12 They are like a lion hungry for prey, like a great lion crouching in cover.
13 여호와여 일어나 저를 대항하여 넘어뜨리시고 주의 칼로 악인에게서 나의 영혼을 구원하소서
13 Rise up, O LORD, confront them, bring them down; rescue me from the wicked by your sword.
14 여호와여 금생에서 저희 분깃을 받은 세상 사람에게서 나를 주의 손으로 구하소서 그는 주의 재물로 배를 채우심을 입고 자녀로 만족하고 그 남은 산업을 그 어린 아이들에게 유전하는 자니이다
14 O LORD, by your hand save me from such men, from men of this world whose reward is in this life. You still the hunger of those you cherish; their sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.
15 나는 의로운 중에 주의 얼굴을 보리니 깰 때에 주의 형상으로 만족하리이다
15 And I--in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
