29:1-30:24
1 야곱이 길을 떠나 동방 사람의 땅에 이르러
1 Then Jacob continued on his journey and came to the land of the eastern peoples.
2 본즉 들에 우물이 있고 그 곁에 양 세 떼가 누워 있으니 이는 목자들이 그 우물에서 양 떼에게 물을 먹임이라 큰 돌로 우물 아귀를 덮었다가
2 There he saw a well in the field, with three flocks of sheep lying near it because the flocks were watered from that well. The stone over the mouth of the well was large.
3 모든 떼가 모이면 그들이 우물 아귀에서 돌을 옮기고 그 양 떼에게 물을 먹이고는 우물 아귀 그 자리에 다시 그 돌을 덮더라
3 When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone away from the well`s mouth and water the sheep. Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well.
4 야곱이 그들에게 이르되 내 형제여 어디서 왔느냐 그들이 이르되 하란에서 왔노라
4 Jacob asked the shepherds, "My brothers, where are you from?" "We`re from Haran," they replied.
5 야곱이 그들에게 이르되 너희가 나홀의 손자 라반을 아느냐 그들이 이르되 아노라
5 He said to them, "Do you know Laban, Nahor`s grandson?" "Yes, we know him," they answered.
6 야곱이 그들에게 이르되 그가 평안하냐 이르되 평안하니라 그의 딸 라헬이 지금 양을 몰고 오느니라
6 Then Jacob asked them, "Is he well?" "Yes, he is," they said, "and here comes his daughter Rachel with the sheep."
7 야곱이 이르되 해가 아직 높은즉 가축 모일 때가 아니니 양에게 물을 먹이고 가서 풀을 뜯게 하라
7 Look, he said, "the sun is still high; it is not time for the flocks to be gathered. Water the sheep and take them back to pasture."
8 그들이 이르되 우리가 그리하지 못하겠노라 떼가 다 모이고 목자들이 우물 아귀에서 돌을 옮겨야 우리가 양에게 물을 먹이느니라
8 We can`t, they replied, "until all the flocks are gathered and the stone has been rolled away from the mouth of the well. Then we will water the sheep."
9 야곱이 그들과 말하는 동안에 라헬이 그의 아버지의 양과 함께 오니 그가 그의 양들을 치고 있었기 때문이더라
9 While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father`s sheep, for she was a shepherdess.
10 야곱이 그의 외삼촌 라반의 딸 라헬과 그의 외삼촌의 양을 보고 나아가 우물 아귀에서 돌을 옮기고 외삼촌 라반의 양 떼에게 물을 먹이고
10 When Jacob saw Rachel daughter of Laban, his mother`s brother, and Laban`s sheep, he went over and rolled the stone away from the mouth of the well and watered his uncle`s sheep.
11 그가 라헬에게 입맞추고 소리 내어 울며
11 Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep aloud.
12 그에게 자기가 그의 아버지의 생질이요 리브가의 아들 됨을 말하였더니 라헬이 달려가서 그 아버지에게 알리매
12 He had told Rachel that he was a relative of her father and a son of Rebekah. So she ran and told her father.
13 라반이 그의 생질 야곱의 소식을 듣고 달려와서 그를 영접하여 안고 입맞추며 자기 집으로 인도하여 들이니 야곱이 자기의 모든 일을 라반에게 말하매
13 As soon as Laban heard the news about Jacob, his sister`s son, he hurried to meet him. He embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his home, and there Jacob told him all these things.
14 라반이 이르되 너는 참으로 내 혈육이로다 하였더라 야곱이 한 달을 그와 함께 거주하더니
14 Then Laban said to him, "You are my own flesh and blood." After Jacob had stayed with him for a whole month,
15 라반이 야곱에게 이르되 네가 비록 내 생질이나 어찌 그저 내 일을 하겠느냐 네 품삯을 어떻게 할지 내게 말하라
15 Laban said to him, "Just because you are a relative of mine, should you work for me for nothing? Tell me what your wages should be."
16 라반에게 두 딸이 있으니 언니의 이름은 레아요 아우의 이름은 라헬이라
16 Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
17 레아는 시력이 약하고 라헬은 곱고 아리따우니
17 Leah had weak eyes, but Rachel was lovely in form, and beautiful.
18 야곱이 라헬을 더 사랑하므로 대답하되 내가 외삼촌의 작은 딸 라헬을 위하여 외삼촌에게 칠 년을 섬기리이다
18 Jacob was in love with Rachel and said, "I`ll work for you seven years in return for your younger daughter Rachel."
19 라반이 이르되 그를 네게 주는 것이 타인에게 주는 것보다 나으니 나와 함께 있으라
19 Laban said, "It`s better that I give her to you than to some other man. Stay here with me."
20 야곱이 라헬을 위하여 칠 년 동안 라반을 섬겼으나 그를 사랑하는 까닭에 칠 년을 며칠 같이 여겼더라
20 So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her.
21 야곱이 라반에게 이르되 내 기한이 찼으니 내 아내를 내게 주소서 내가 그에게 들어가겠나이다
21 Then Jacob said to Laban, "Give me my wife. My time is completed, and I want to lie with her."
22 라반이 그 곳 사람을 다 모아 잔치하고
22 So Laban brought together all the people of the place and gave a feast.
23 저녁에 그의 딸 레아를 야곱에게로 데려가매 야곱이 그에게로 들어가니라
23 But when evening came, he took his daughter Leah and gave her to Jacob, and Jacob lay with her.
24 라반이 또 그의 여종 실바를 그의 딸 레아에게 시녀로 주었더라
24 And Laban gave his servant girl Zilpah to his daughter as her maidservant.
25 야곱이 아침에 보니 레아라 라반에게 이르되 외삼촌이 어찌하여 내게 이같이 행하셨나이까 내가 라헬을 위하여 외삼촌을 섬기지 아니하였나이까 외삼촌이 나를 속이심은 어찌됨이니이까
25 When morning came, there was Leah! So Jacob said to Laban, "What is this you have done to me? I served you for Rachel, didn`t I? Why have you deceived me?"
26 라반이 이르되 언니보다 아우를 먼저 주는 것은 우리 지방에서 하지 아니하는 바이라
26 Laban replied, "It is not our custom here to give the younger daughter in marriage before the older one.
27 이를 위하여 칠 일을 채우라 우리가 그도 네게 주리니 네가 또 나를 칠 년 동안 섬길지니라
27 Finish this daughter`s bridal week; then we will give you the younger one also, in return for another seven years of work."
28 야곱이 그대로 하여 그 칠 일을 채우매 라반이 딸 라헬도 그에게 아내로 주고
28 And Jacob did so. He finished the week with Leah, and then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife.
29 라반이 또 그의 여종 빌하를 그의 딸 라헬에게 주어 시녀가 되게 하매
29 Laban gave his servant girl Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as her maidservant.
30 야곱이 또한 라헬에게로 들어갔고 그가 레아보다 라헬을 더 사랑하여 다시 칠 년 동안 라반을 섬겼더라
30 Jacob lay with Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah. And he worked for Laban another seven years.
31 여호와께서 레아가 사랑 받지 못함을 보시고 그의 태를 여셨으나 라헬은 자녀가 없었더라
31 When the LORD saw that Leah was not loved, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
32 레아가 임신하여 아들을 낳고 그 이름을 르우벤이라 하여 이르되 여호와께서 나의 괴로움을 돌보셨으니 이제는 내 남편이 나를 사랑하리로다 하였더라
32 Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben, for she said, "It is because the LORD has seen my misery. Surely my husband will love me now."
33 그가 다시 임신하여 아들을 낳고 이르되 여호와께서 내가 사랑 받지 못함을 들으셨으므로 내게 이 아들도 주셨도다 하고 그의 이름을 시므온이라 하였으며
33 She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, "Because the LORD heard that I am not loved, he gave me this one too." So she named him Simeon.
34 그가 또 임신하여 아들을 낳고 이르되 내가 그에게 세 아들을 낳았으니 내 남편이 지금부터 나와 연합하리로다 하고 그의 이름을 레위라 하였으며
34 Again she conceived, and when she gave birth to a son she said, "Now at last my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons." So he was named Levi.
35 그가 또 임신하여 아들을 낳고 이르되 내가 이제는 여호와를 찬송하리로다 하고 이로 말미암아 그가 그의 이름을 유다라 하였고 그의 출산이 멈추었더라
35 She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, "This time I will praise the LORD." So she named him Judah. Then she stopped having children.
30장
1 라헬이 자기가 야곱에게서 아들을 낳지 못함을 보고 그의 언니를 시기하여 야곱에게 이르되 내게 자식을 낳게 하라 그렇지 아니하면 내가 죽겠노라
1 When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she became jealous of her sister. So she said to Jacob, "Give me children, or I`ll die!"
2 야곱이 라헬에게 성을 내어 이르되 그대를 임신하지 못하게 하시는 이는 하나님이시니 내가 하나님을 대신하겠느냐
2 Jacob became angry with her and said, "Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?"
3 라헬이 이르되 내 여종 빌하에게로 들어가라 그가 아들을 낳아 내 무릎에 두리니 그러면 나도 그로 말미암아 자식을 얻겠노라 하고
3 Then she said, "Here is Bilhah, my maidservant. Sleep with her so that she can bear children for me and that through her I too can build a family."
4 그의 시녀 빌하를 남편에게 아내로 주매 야곱이 그에게로 들어갔더니
4 So she gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife. Jacob slept with her,
5 빌하가 임신하여 야곱에게 아들을 낳은지라
5 and she became pregnant and bore him a son.
6 라헬이 이르되 하나님이 내 억울함을 푸시려고 내 호소를 들으사 내게 아들을 주셨다 하고 이로 말미암아 그의 이름을 단이라 하였으며
6 Then Rachel said, "God has vindicated me; he has listened to my plea and given me a son." Because of this she named him Dan.
7 라헬의 시녀 빌하가 다시 임신하여 둘째 아들을 야곱에게 낳으매
7 Rachel`s servant Bilhah conceived again and bore Jacob a second son.
8 라헬이 이르되 내가 언니와 크게 경쟁하여 이겼다 하고 그의 이름을 납달리라 하였더라
8 Then Rachel said, "I have had a great struggle with my sister, and I have won." So she named him Naphtali.
9 레아가 자기의 출산이 멈춤을 보고 그의 시녀 실바를 데려다가 야곱에게 주어 아내로 삼게 하였더니
9 When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she took her maidservant Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife.
10 레아의 시녀 실바가 야곱에게서 아들을 낳으매
10 Leah`s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a son.
11 레아가 이르되 복되도다 하고 그의 이름을 갓이라 하였으며
11 Then Leah said, "What good fortune!" So she named him Gad.
12 레아의 시녀 실바가 둘째 아들을 야곱에게 낳으매
12 Leah`s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son.
13 레아가 이르되 기쁘도다 모든 딸들이 나를 기쁜 자라 하리로다 하고 그의 이름을 아셀이라 하였더라
13 Then Leah said, "How happy I am! The women will call me happy." So she named him Asher.
14 밀 거둘 때 르우벤이 나가서 들에서 합환채를 얻어 그의 어머니 레아에게 드렸더니 라헬이 레아에게 이르되 언니의 아들의 합환채를 청구하노라
14 During wheat harvest, Reuben went out into the fields and found some mandrake plants, which he brought to his mother Leah. Rachel said to Leah, "Please give me some of your son`s mandrakes."
15 레아가 그에게 이르되 네가 내 남편을 빼앗은 것이 작은 일이냐 그런데 네가 내 아들의 합환채도 빼앗고자 하느냐 라헬이 이르되 그러면 언니의 아들의 합환채 대신에 오늘 밤에 내 남편이 언니와 동침하리라 하니라
15 But she said to her, "Wasn`t it enough that you took away my husband? Will you take my son`s mandrakes too?" "Very well," Rachel said, "he can sleep with you tonight in return for your son`s mandrakes."
16 저물 때에 야곱이 들에서 돌아오매 레아가 나와서 그를 영접하며 이르되 내게로 들어오라 내가 내 아들의 합환채로 당신을 샀노라 그 밤에 야곱이 그와 동침하였더라
16 So when Jacob came in from the fields that evening, Leah went out to meet him. "You must sleep with me," she said. "I have hired you with my son`s mandrakes." So he slept with her that night.
17 하나님이 레아의 소원을 들으셨으므로 그가 임신하여 다섯째 아들을 야곱에게 낳은지라
17 God listened to Leah, and she became pregnant and bore Jacob a fifth son.
18 레아가 이르되 내가 내 시녀를 내 남편에게 주었으므로 하나님이 내게 그 값을 주셨다 하고 그의 이름을 잇사갈이라 하였으며
18 Then Leah said, "God has rewarded me for giving my maidservant to my husband." So she named him Issachar.
19 레아가 다시 임신하여 여섯째 아들을 야곱에게 낳은지라
19 Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a sixth son.
20 레아가 이르되 하나님이 내게 후한 선물을 주시도다 내가 남편에게 여섯 아들을 낳았으니 이제는 그가 나와 함께 살리라 하고 그의 이름을 스불론이라 하였으며
20 Then Leah said, "God has presented me with a precious gift. This time my husband will treat me with honor, because I have borne him six sons." So she named him Zebulun.
21 그 후에 그가 딸을 낳고 그의 이름을 디나라 하였더라
21 Some time later she gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah.
22 하나님이 라헬을 생각하신지라 하나님이 그의 소원을 들으시고 그의 태를 여셨으므로
22 Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb.
23 그가 임신하여 아들을 낳고 이르되 하나님이 내 부끄러움을 씻으셨다 하고
23 She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, "God has taken away my disgrace."
24 그 이름을 요셉이라 하니 여호와는 다시 다른 아들을 내게 더하시기를 원하노라 하였더라
24 She named him Joseph, and said, "May the LORD add to me another son."시편 (Psalms)
19
1 하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 날은 날에게 말하고 밤은 밤에게 지식을 전하니
2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
3 언어도 없고 말씀도 없으며 들리는 소리도 없으나
3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
4 그의 소리가 온 땅에 통하고 그의 말씀이 세상 끝까지 이르도다 하나님이 해를 위하여 하늘에 장막을 베푸셨도다
4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,
5 해는 그의 신방에서 나오는 신랑과 같고 그의 길을 달리기 기뻐하는 장사 같아서
5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 하늘 이 끝에서 나와서 하늘 저 끝까지 운행함이여 그의 열기에서 피할 자가 없도다
6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat.
7 여호와의 율법은 완전하여 영혼을 소성시키며 여호와의 증거는 확실하여 우둔한 자를 지혜롭게 하며
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 여호와의 교훈은 정직하여 마음을 기쁘게 하고 여호와의 계명은 순결하여 눈을 밝게 하시도다
8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
9 여호와를 경외하는 도는 정결하여 영원까지 이르고 여호와의 법도 진실하여 다 의로우니
9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.
10 금 곧 많은 순금보다 더 사모할 것이며 꿀과 송이꿀보다 더 달도다
10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
11 또 주의 종이 이것으로 경고를 받고 이것을 지킴으로 상이 크니이다
11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
12 자기 허물을 능히 깨달을 자 누구리요 나를 숨은 허물에서 벗어나게 하소서
12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults.
13 또 주의 종에게 고의로 죄를 짓지 말게 하사 그 죄가 나를 주장하지 못하게 하소서 그리하면 내가 정직하여 큰 죄과에서 벗어나겠나이다
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
14 나의 반석이시요 나의 구속자이신 여호와여 내 입의 말과 마음의 묵상이 주님 앞에 열납되기를 원하나이다
14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
