출애굽기
1장
1 야곱과 함께 각각 자기 가족을 데리고 애굽에 이른 이스라엘 아들들의 이름은 이러하니
1 These are the names of the sons of Israel who went to Egypt with Jacob, each with his family:
2 르우벤과 시므온과 레위와 유다와
2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah;
3 잇사갈과 스불론과 베냐민과
3 Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin;
4 단과 납달리와 갓과 아셀이요
4 Dan and Naphtali; Gad and Asher.
5 야곱의 허리에서 나온 사람이 모두 칠십이요 요셉은 애굽에 있었더라
5 The descendants of Jacob numbered seventy in all; Joseph was already in Egypt.
6 요셉과 그의 모든 형제와 그 시대의 사람은 다 죽었고
6 Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died,
7 이스라엘 자손은 생육하고 불어나 번성하고 매우 강하여 온 땅에 가득하게 되었더라
7 but the Israelites were fruitful and multiplied greatly and became exceedingly numerous, so that the land was filled with them.
8 요셉을 알지 못하는 새 왕이 일어나 애굽을 다스리더니
8 Then a new king, who did not know about Joseph, came to power in Egypt.
9 그가 그 백성에게 이르되 이 백성 이스라엘 자손이 우리보다 많고 강하도다
9 Look, he said to his people, "the Israelites have become much too numerous for us.
10 자, 우리가 그들에게 대하여 지혜롭게 하자 두렵건대 그들이 더 많게 되면 전쟁이 일어날 때에 우리 대적과 합하여 우리와 싸우고 이 땅에서 나갈까 하노라 하고
10 Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country."
11 감독들을 그들 위에 세우고 그들에게 무거운 짐을 지워 괴롭게 하여 그들에게 바로를 위하여 국고성 비돔과 라암셋을 건축하게 하니라
11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh.
12 그러나 학대를 받을수록 더욱 번성하여 퍼져나가니 애굽 사람이 이스라엘 자손으로 말미암아 근심하여
12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites
13 이스라엘 자손에게 일을 엄하게 시켜
13 and worked them ruthlessly.
14 어려운 노동으로 그들의 생활을 괴롭게 하니 곧 흙 이기기와 벽돌 굽기와 농사의 여러 가지 일이라 그 시키는 일이 모두 엄하였더라
14 They made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their hard labor the Egyptians used them ruthlessly.
15 애굽 왕이 히브리 산파 십브라라 하는 사람과 부아라 하는 사람에게 말하여
15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah,
16 이르되 너희는 히브리 여인을 위하여 해산을 도울 때에 그 자리를 살펴서 아들이거든 그를 죽이고 딸이거든 살려두라
16 When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.
17 그러나 산파들이 하나님을 두려워하여 애굽 왕의 명령을 어기고 남자 아기들을 살린지라
17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live.
18 애굽 왕이 산파를 불러 그들에게 이르되 너희가 어찌하여 이같이 남자 아기들을 살렸느냐
18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?"
19 산파가 바로에게 대답하되 히브리 여인은 애굽 여인과 같지 아니하고 건장하여 산파가 그들에게 이르기 전에 해산하였더이다 하매
19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive."
20 하나님이 그 산파들에게 은혜를 베푸시니 그 백성은 번성하고 매우 강해지니라
20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous.
21 그 산파들은 하나님을 경외하였으므로 하나님이 그들의 집안을 흥왕하게 하신지라
21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
22 그러므로 바로가 그의 모든 백성에게 명령하여 이르되 아들이 태어나거든 너희는 그를 나일 강에 던지고 딸이거든 살려두라 하였더라
22 Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: "Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live."마태복음
16장
13 예수께서 빌립보 가이사랴 지방에 이르러 제자들에게 물어 이르시되 사람들이 인자를 누구라 하느냐
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"
14 이르되 더러는 세례 요한, 더러는 엘리야, 어떤 이는 예레미야나 선지자 중의 하나라 하나이다
14 They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
15 이르시되 너희는 나를 누구라 하느냐
15 But what about you? he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
16 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 이르되 주는 그리스도시요 살아 계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다
16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
17 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 바요나 시몬아 네가 복이 있도다 이를 네게 알게 한 이는 혈육이 아니요 하늘에 계신 내 아버지시니라
17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
18 또 내가 네게 이르노니 너는 베드로라 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세우리니 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하리라
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
19 내가 천국 열쇠를 네게 주리니 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 풀면 하늘에서도 풀리리라 하시고
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
20 이에 제자들에게 경고하사 자기가 그리스도인 것을 아무에게도 이르지 말라 하시니라
20 Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.
21 이 때로부터 예수 그리스도께서 자기가 예루살렘에 올라가 장로들과 대제사장들과 서기관들에게 많은 고난을 받고 죽임을 당하고 제삼일에 살아나야 할 것을 제자들에게 비로소 나타내시니
21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
22 베드로가 예수를 붙들고 항변하여 이르되 주여 그리 마옵소서 이 일이 결코 주께 미치지 아니하리이다
22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
23 예수께서 돌이키시며 베드로에게 이르시되 사탄아 내 뒤로 물러 가라 너는 나를 넘어지게 하는 자로다 네가 하나님의 일을 생각하지 아니하고 도리어 사람의 일을 생각하는도다 하시고
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
24 이에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 누구든지 나를 따라오려거든 자기를 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 따를 것이니라
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
25 누구든지 제 목숨을 구원하고자 하면 잃을 것이요 누구든지 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃으면 찾으리라
25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.
26 사람이 만일 온 천하를 얻고도 제 목숨을 잃으면 무엇이 유익하리요 사람이 무엇을 주고 제 목숨과 바꾸겠느냐
26 What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 인자가 아버지의 영광으로 그 천사들과 함께 오리니 그 때에 각 사람이 행한 대로 갚으리라
27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father`s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
28 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 여기 서 있는 사람 중에 죽기 전에 인자가 그 왕권을 가지고 오는 것을 볼 자들도 있느니라
28 I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
