14장
1 아비야가 그 열조와 함께 자매 다윗성에 장사되고 그 아들 아사가 대신하여 왕이 되니 그 시대에 그 땅이 십년을 평안하니라
1 Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa his son reigned in his place. In his days the land had rest for ten years.
2 아사가 그 하나님 여호와 보시기에 선과 정의를 행하여
2 And Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of theLordhis God.
3 이방 제단과 산당을 없이하고 주상을 훼파하며 아세라 상을 찍고
3 He took away the foreign altarsand the high places and broke downthe pillars and cut down theAsherim
4 유다 사람을 명하여 그 열조의 하나님 여호와를 구하게 하며 그 율법과 명령을 행하게 하고
4 and commanded Judah to seek theLord, the God of their fathers, and to keep the law and the commandment.
5 또 유다 모든 성읍에서 산당과 태양상을 없이하매 나라가 그 앞에서 평안함을 얻으니라
5 He also took out of all the cities of Judahthe high places and theincense altars. And the kingdom had rest under him.
6 여호와께서 아사에게 평안을 주셨으므로 그 땅이 평안하여 여러해 싸움이 없은지라 저가 견고한 성읍들을 유다에 건축하니라
6 He builtfortified cities in Judah, for the land had rest. He had no war in those years,for theLordgave him peace.
7 아사가 일찌기 유다 사람에게 이르되 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와를 찾았으므로 이 땅이 아직 우리 앞에 있나니 우리가 이 성읍들을 건축하고 그 주위에 성곽과 망대와 문과 빗장을 만들자 우리가 주를 찾았으므로 주께서 우리에게 사방의 평안을 주셨느니라 하고 이에 저희가 성읍을 형통하게 건축 하였더라
7 And he said to Judah,Let us build these cities and surround them withwalls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours, because we have sought theLordour God. We have sought him,and he has given us peace on every side.So they built and prospered.
8 아사의 군대는 유다 중에서 큰 방패와 창을 잡는 자가 삼십만이요 베냐민 중에서 작은 방패를 잡으며 활을 당기는 자가 이십 팔만이라 다 큰 용사더라
8 And Asa had an army of300,000 from Judah, armed with large shields and spears, and 280,000 men from Benjamin that carried shields and drew bows. All these were mighty men of valor.로마서

19 혹 네가 내게 말하기를 그러면 하나님이 어찌하여 허물하시느뇨 누가 그 뜻을 대적하느뇨 하리니
19 You will say to me then,Why does he still find fault? Forwho can resist his will?
20 이 사람아 네가 뉘기에 감히 하나님을 힐문하느뇨 지음을 받은 물건이 지은 자에게 어찌 나를 이같이 만들었느냐 말하겠느뇨
20 But who are you, O man,to answer back to God?Will what is molded say to its molder,Why have you made me like this?
21 토기장이가 진흙 한 덩이로 하나는 귀히 쓸 그릇을, 하나는 천히 쓸 그릇을 만드는 권이 없느냐
21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lumpone vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?
22 만일 하나님이 그 진노를 보이시고 그 능력을 알게 하고자 하사 멸하기로 준비된 진노의 그릇을 오래 참으심으로 관용하시고
22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patiencevessels of wrathprepared for destruction,
23 또한 영광 받기로 예비하신바 긍휼의 그릇에 대하여 그 영광의 부요함을 알게 하고자 하셨을찌라도 무슨 말 하리요
23 in order to make knownthe riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which hehas prepared beforehand for glory&emdash;
24 이 그릇은 우리니 곧 유대인 중에서 뿐아니라 이방인 중에서도 부르신 자니라
24 even us whom hehas called,not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?
