21장
1 여호사밧이 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 열조와 함께 다윗성에 장사되고 그 아들 여호람이 대신하여 왕이 되니라
1 Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
2 여호사밧의 아들 여호람의 아우 아사랴와 여히엘과 스가랴와 아사랴와 미가엘과 스바댜는 다 유다 왕 여호사밧의 아들이라
2 He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king ofIsrael.
3 그 부친이 저희에게는 은금과 보물과 유다 견고한 성읍들을 선물로 후히 주었고 여호람은 장자인고로 왕위를 주었더니
3 Their father gave them great gifts of silver, gold, and valuable possessions, together withfortified cities in Judah, but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn.
4 여호람이 그 부친의 위에 올라 세력을 얻은 후에 그 모든 아우와 이스라엘 방백 중 몇 사람을 칼로 죽였더라
4 When Jehoram had ascended the throne of his father and was established, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes ofIsrael.
5 여호람이 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 삼십 이세라 예루살렘에서 팔년을 치리하니라
5 Jehoram wasthirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6 저가 이스라엘 왕들의 길로 행하여 아합의 집과 같이 하였으니 이는 아합의 딸이 그 아내가 되었음이라 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으나
6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, forthe daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of theLord.
7 여호와께서 다윗의 집을 멸하기를 즐겨하지 아니하셨음은 이전에 다윗으로 더불어 언약을 세우시고 또 다윗과 그 자손에게 항상 등불을 주겠다고 허하셨음이더라
7 Yet theLordwas not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and since he had promised to givea lamp to him and to his sons forever.
8 여호람 때에 에돔이 배반하여 유다의 수하에서 벗어나 자기 위에 왕을 세운고로
8 In his days Edom revolted from therule of Judah and set up a king of their own.
9 여호람이 장관들과 모든 병거를 거느리고 출정하였더니 밤에 일어나서 자기를 에워싼 에돔 사람과 그 병거의 장관들을 쳤더라
9 Then Jehoram passed over with his commanders and all his chariots, and he rose by night and struck the Edomites who had surrounded him and his chariot commanders.
10 이와 같이 에돔이 배반하여 유다의 수하에서 벗어났더니 오늘날까지 그러하였으며 그 때에 립나도 배반하여 여호람의 수하에서 벗어났으니 이는 저가 그 열조의 하나님 여호와를 버렸음이더라
10 So Edom revolted fromthe rule of Judah to this day. At that time Libnah also revolted from his rule, because he had forsaken theLord, the God of his fathers.
11 여호람이 또 유다 여러 산에 산당을 세워 예루살렘 거민으로 음란하듯 우상을 섬기게 하고 또 유다를 미혹케 하였으므로
11 Moreover, he made high places in the hill country of Judah and led the inhabitants of Jerusaleminto whoredom and made Judah go astray.
12 선지자 엘리야가 여호람에게 글을 보내어 가로되 왕의 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 네가 네 아비 여호사밧의 길과 유다 왕 아사의 길로 행치 아니하고
12 And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,Thus says theLord, the God of David your father,Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, orin the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13 오직 이스라엘 열왕의 길로 행하여 유다와 예루살렘 거민으로 음란하듯 우상을 섬기게 하기를 아합의 집과 같이 하며 또 너의 아비 집에서 너보다 선한 아우들을 죽였으니
13 but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel and have enticed Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusaleminto whoredom,as the house of Ahab led Israel into whoredom, and also youhave killed your brothers, of your father's house, who were better than you,
14 여호와가 네 백성과 네 자녀와 네 아내들과 네 모든 재물을 큰 재앙으로 치리라
14 behold, theLordwill bring a great plague on your people, your children, your wives, and all your possessions,
15 또 너는 창자에 중병이 들고 그 병이 날로 중하여 창자가 빠져나오리라 하셨다 하였더라
15 and you yourself will have a severe sicknesswith a disease of your bowels, until your bowels come out because of the disease, day by day.
16 여호와께서 블레셋 사람과 구스에서 가까운 아라비아 사람의 마음을 격동시키사 여호람을 치게 하셨으므로
16 And theLordstirred up against Jehoram the angerof the Philistines and ofthe Arabians who are near the Ethiopians.
17 그 무리가 올라와서 유다를 침노하여 왕궁의 모든 재물과 그 아들들과 아내들을 탈취하였으므로 말째 아들 여호아하스 외에는 한 아들도 남지 아니하였더라
17 And they came up against Judah and invaded it and carried away all the possessions they found that belonged to the king's house, and also his sons and his wives, so that no son was left to him exceptJehoahaz, his youngest son.
18 이 모든 일 후에 여호와께서 여호람을 치사 능히 고치지 못할 병이 그 창자에 들게 하셨으므로
18 And after all this theLordstruck himin his bowels with an incurable disease.
19 여러 날 후 이년만에 그 창자가 그 병으로 인하여 빠져나오매 저가 그 심한 병으로 죽으니 백성이 그 열조에게 분향하던것 같이 저에게 분향하지 아니하였으며
19 In the course of time, at the end of two years, his bowels came out because of the disease, and he died in great agony. His people made no fire in his honor,like the fires made for his fathers.
20 여호람이 삼십 이세에 즉위하고 예루살렘에서 팔년을 치리하다가 아끼는 자 없이 세상을 떠났으며 무리가 저를 다윗성에 장사하였으나 열왕의 묘실에는 두지 아니하였더라
20 He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he departedwith no one's regret.They buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.22장
1 예루살렘 거민이 여호람의 말째 아들 아하시야로 위를 이어 왕을 삼았으니 이는 전에 아라비아 사람과 함께 와서 영을 치던 부대가 그의 모든 형을 죽였음이라 그러므로 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 왕이 되었더라
1 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, his youngest son, king in his place, for the band of men that came withthe Arabians to the camp had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.
2 아하시야가 왕이 될 때에 나이 사십이세라 예루살렘에서 일년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 아달랴라 오므리의 손녀더라
2 Ahaziah was twenty-twoyears old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah,the granddaughter of Omri.
3 아하시야도 아합의 집 길로 행하였으니 이는 그 모친이 꾀어 악을 행하게 하였음이라
3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in doing wickedly.
4 그 부친이 죽은 후에 저가 패망케 하는 아합의 집 교도를 좇아 여호와 보시기에 아합의 집 같이 악을 행하였더라
4 He did what was evil in the sight of theLord, as the house of Ahab had done. For after the death of his father they were his counselors, to his undoing.
5 아하시야가 아합의 집 교도를 좇고 이스라엘 왕 아합의 아들 요람과 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 아람 왕 하사엘로 더불어 싸우더니 아람 사람들이 요람을 상하게 한지라
5 He even followed their counsel and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to make war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead. And the Syrians wounded Joram,
6 요람이 아람 왕 하사엘과 싸울 때에 라마에서 맞아 상한 것을 치료하려 하여 이스르엘로 돌아왔더라 아합의 아들 요람이 병이 있으므로 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아사랴가 이스르엘에 내려가서 방문하였더라
6 and he returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds that he had received at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was wounded.
7 아하시야가 요람에게 가므로 해를 받았으니 이는 하나님께로 말미암은 것이라 아하시야가 갔다가 요람과 함께 나가서 임시의 아들 예후를 맞았으니 그는 여호와께서 기름을 부으시고 아합의 집을 멸하게 하신 자더라
7 But it was ordained by God that the downfall of Ahaziah should come about through his going to visit Joram. For when he came there,he went out with Jehoram to meet Jehu the son of Nimshi,whom theLordhad anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
8 예후가 아합의 집을 징벌할 때에 유다 방백들과 아하시야의 형제의 아들들 곧 아하시야를 섬기는 자들을 만나서 죽였고
8 And when Jehu wasexecuting judgment on the house of Ahab, he met the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's brothers, who attended Ahaziah, and he killed them.
9 아하시야는 사마리아에 숨었더니 예후가 찾으매 무리가 예후에게로 잡아다가 죽이고 이르기를 저는 전심으로 여호와를 구하던 여호사밧의 아들이라 하고 장사하였더라 이에 아하시야의 집이 약하여 왕위를 지키지 못하게 되니라
9 He searched for Ahaziah, and he was captured while hiding in Samaria, and he was brought to Jehu and put to death.They buried him, for they said,He is the grandson of Jehoshaphat,who sought theLordwith all his heart.And the house of Ahaziah had no one able to rule the kingdom.로마서
11장
11 그러므로 내가 말하노니 저희가 넘어지기까지 실족하였느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라 저희의 넘어짐으로 구원이 이방인에게 이르러 이스라엘로 시기나게 함이니라
11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespasssalvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous.
12 저희의 넘어짐이 세상의 부요함이 되며 저희의 실패가 이방인의 부요함이 되거든 하물며 저희의 충만함이리요
12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusionmean!
13 내가 이방인인 너희에게 말하노라 내가 이방인의 사도인만큼 내 직분을 영광스럽게 여기노니
13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then asI am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
14 이는 곧 내 골육을 아무쪼록 시기케 하여 저희 중에서 얼마를 구원하려 함이라
14 in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, andthus save some of them.
15 저희를 버리는 것이 세상의 화목이 되거든 그 받아들이는 것이 죽은 자 가운데서 사는 것이 아니면 무엇이리요
15 For if their rejection meansthe reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?
16 제사하는 처음 익은 곡식 가루가 거룩한즉 떡덩이도 그러하고 뿌리가 거룩한즉 가지도 그러하니라
16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 또한 가지 얼마가 꺾여졌는데 돌감람나무인 네가 그들 중에 접붙임이 되어 참감람나무 뿌리의 진액을 함께 받는 자 되었은즉
17 But ifsome of the branches were broken off, and you,although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing rootof the olive tree,
18 그 가지들을 향하여 자긍하지 말라 자긍할찌라도 네가 뿌리를 보전하는 것이 아니요 뿌리가 너를 보전하는 것이니라
18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.
19 그러면 네 말이 가지들이 꺾이운 것은 나로 접붙임을 받게 하려 함이라 하리니
19 Then you will say,Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.
20 옳도다 저희는 믿지 아니하므로 꺾이우고 너는 믿으므로 섰느니라 높은 마음을 품지 말고 도리어 두려워하라
20 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but youstand fast through faith. Sodo not become proud, butfear.
21 하나님이 원 가지들도 아끼지 아니하셨은즉 너도 아끼지 아니하시리라
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
22 그러므로 하나님의 인자와 엄위를 보라 넘어지는 자들에게는 엄위가 있으니 너희가 만일 하나님의 인자에 거하면 그 인자가 너희에게 있으리라 그렇지 않으면 너도 찍히는바 되리라
22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you,provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwiseyou too will be cut off.
23 저희도 믿지 아니하는데 거하지 아니하면 접붙임을 얻으리니 이는 저희를 접붙이실 능력이 하나님께 있음이라
23 Andeven they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again.
24 네가 원 돌감람나무에서 찍힘을 받고 본성을 거스려 좋은 감람나무에 접붙임을 얻었은즉 원 가지인 이 사람들이야 얼마나 더 자기 감람나무에 접붙이심을 얻으랴
24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.
