9장
1 이 일 후에 방백들이 내게 나아와 이르되 이스라엘 백성과 제사장들과 레위 사람들이 이 땅 백성들에게서 떠나지 아니하고 가나안 사람들과 헷 사람들과 브리스 사람들과 여부스 사람들과 암몬 사람들과 모압 사람들과 애굽 사람들과 아모리 사람들의 가증한 일을 행하여
1 After these things had been done, the officials approached me and said,The people of Israel and the priests and theLevites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the landswith their abominations, from theCanaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
2 그들의 딸을 맞이하여 아내와 며느리로 삼아 거룩한 자손이 그 지방 사람들과 서로 섞이게 하는데 방백들과 고관들이 이 죄에 더욱 으뜸이 되었다 하는지라
2 For they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons, so that theholy racehasmixed itself with the peoples of the lands. And in this faithlessness the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost.
3 내가 이 일을 듣고 속옷과 겉옷을 찢고 머리털과 수염을 뜯으며 기가 막혀 앉으니
3 As soon as I heard this, Itore my garment and my cloak and pulled hair from my head and beard andsat appalled.
4 이에 이스라엘의 하나님의 말씀으로 말미암아 떠는 자가 사로잡혔던 이 사람들의 죄 때문에 다 내게로 모여오더라 내가 저녁 제사 드릴 때까지 기가 막혀 앉았더니
4 Then all whotrembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the faithlessness of the returned exiles, gathered around me while I satappalled until the evening sacrifice.
5 저녁 제사를 드릴 때에 내가 근심 중에 일어나서 속옷과 겉옷을 찢은 채 무릎을 꿇고 나의 하나님 여호와를 향하여 손을 들고
5 And at theevening sacrifice I rose from my fasting, with my garmentand my cloak torn, and fell upon my kneesand spread out my hands to theLordmy God,
6 말하기를 나의 하나님이여 내가 부끄럽고 낯이 뜨거워서 감히 나의 하나님을 향하여 얼굴을 들지 못하오니 이는 우리 죄악이 많아 정수리에 넘치고 우리 허물이 커서 하늘에 미침이니이다
6 saying:O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquitieshave risen higher than our heads, and ourguilt hasmounted up to the heavens.
7 우리 조상들의 때로부터 오늘까지 우리의 죄가 심하매 우리의 죄악으로 말미암아 우리와 우리 왕들과 우리 제사장들을 여러 나라 왕들의 손에 넘기사 칼에 죽으며 사로잡히며 노략을 당하며 얼굴을 부끄럽게 하심이 오늘날과 같으니이다
7 From the days of our fathers to this day we have been in greatguilt. And for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering,and to utter shame, as it is today.
8 이제 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리에게 잠시 동안 은혜를 베푸사 얼마를 남겨 두어 피하게 하신 우리를 그 거룩한 처소에 박힌 못과 같게 하시고 우리 하나님이 우리 눈을 밝히사 우리가 종노릇 하는 중에서 조금 소생하게 하셨나이다
8 But now for a brief moment favor has been shown by theLordour God, to leave us aremnant and to give us asecure holdwithin his holy place, that our God maybrighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our slavery.
9 우리가 비록 노예가 되었사오나 우리 하나님이 우리를 그 종살이하는 중에 버려 두지 아니하시고 바사 왕들 앞에서 우리가 불쌍히 여김을 입고 소생하여 우리 하나님의 성전을 세우게 하시며 그 무너진 것을 수리하게 하시며 유다와 예루살렘에서 우리에게 울타리를 주셨나이다
9 For we are slaves. Yet our God has not forsaken us in our slavery,but has extended to us his steadfast love before the kings of Persia, to grant us some reviving to set up the house of our God, to repair its ruins, and to give us protectionin Judea and Jerusalem.
10 우리 하나님이여 이렇게 하신 후에도 우리가 주의 계명을 저버렸사오니 이제 무슨 말씀을 하오리이까
10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken your commandments,
11 전에 주께서 주의 종 선지자들에게 명령하여 이르시되 너희가 가서 얻으려 하는 땅은 더러운 땅이니 이는 이방 백성들이 더럽고 가증한 일을 행하여 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 그 더러움으로 채웠음이라
11 which you commanded by your servants the prophets, saying,The land that you are entering, to take possession of it, is a land impure with the impurity of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations that have filled it from end to end withtheir uncleanness.
12 그런즉 너희 여자들을 그들의 아들들에게 주지 말고 그들의 딸들을 너희 아들들을 위하여 데려오지 말며 그들을 위하여 평화와 행복을 영원히 구하지 말라 그리하면 너희가 왕성하여 그 땅의 아름다운 것을 먹으며 그 땅을 자손에게 물려 주어 영원한 유산으로 물려 주게 되리라 하셨나이다
12 Therefore do not give your daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters for your sons, and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the landand leave it for an inheritance to your children forever.
13 우리의 악한 행실과 큰 죄로 말미암아 이 모든 일을 당하였사오나 우리 하나님이 우리 죄악보다 형벌을 가볍게 하시고 이만큼 백성을 남겨 주셨사오니
13 And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and forour great guilt, seeing that you, ourGod, have punished us less than our iniquities deserved and have given us such aremnant as this,
14 우리가 어찌 다시 주의 계명을 거역하고 이 가증한 백성들과 통혼하오리이까 그리하면 주께서 어찌 우리를 멸하시고 남아 피할 자가 없도록 진노하시지 아니하시리이까
14 shall we break your commandments again andintermarry with the peoples who practice these abominations? Would you not be angry with usuntil you consumed us, so that there should be noremnant, nor any to escape?
15 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와여 주는 의로우시니 우리가 남아 피한 것이 오늘날과 같사옵거늘 도리어 주께 범죄하였사오니 이로 말미암아 주 앞에 한 사람도 감히 서지 못하겠나이다 하니라
15 OLord, the God of Israel, you are just, for we are left aremnant that has escaped, as it is today. Behold, we are before you in ourguilt,for none can stand before you because of this.고린도전서
5장
9 내가 너희에게 쓴 편지에 음행하는 자들을 사귀지 말라 하였거니와
9 I wrote to you in my letternot to associate with sexually immoral people&emdash;
10 이 말은 이 세상의 음행하는 자들이나 탐하는 자들이나 속여 빼앗는 자들이나 우상 숭배하는 자들을 도무지 사귀지 말라 하는 것이 아니니 만일 그리하려면 너희가 세상 밖으로 나가야 할 것이라
10 not at all meaningthe sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters,since then you would need to go out of the world.
11 이제 내가 너희에게 쓴 것은 만일 어떤 형제라 일컫는 자가 음행하거나 탐욕을 부리거나 우상 숭배를 하거나 모욕하거나 술 취하거나 속여 빼앗거든 사귀지도 말고 그런 자와는 함께 먹지도 말라 함이라
11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyonewho bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler&emdash;not even to eat with such a one.
12 밖에 있는 사람들을 판단하는 것이야 내게 무슨 상관이 있으리요마는 교회 안에 있는 사람들이야 너희가 판단하지 아니하랴
12 For what have I to do with judgingoutsiders?Is it not those inside the churchwhom you are to judge?
13 밖에 있는 사람들은 하나님이 심판하시려니와 이 악한 사람은 너희 중에서 내쫓으라
13 God judgesthose outside.Purge the evil person from among you.
