아모스 (Amos)
5-6
1 이스라엘 족속아 내가 너희에게 대하여 애가로 지은 이 말을 들으라
1 Hear this word, O house of Israel, this lament I take up concerning you:
2 처녀 이스라엘이 엎드러졌음이여 다시 일어나지 못하리로다 자기 땅에 던지움이여 일으킬 자 없으리로다
2 Fallen is Virgin Israel, never to rise again, deserted in her own land, with no one to lift her up.
3 주 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 이스라엘 중에서 천 명이 행군해 나가던 성읍에는 백 명만 남고 백 명이 행군해 나가던 성읍에는 열 명만 남으리라 하셨느니라
3 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "The city that marches out a thousand strong for Israel will have only a hundred left; the town that marches out a hundred strong will have only ten left."
4 여호와께서 이스라엘 족속에게 이와 같이 말씀하시기를 너희는 나를 찾으라 그리하면 살리라
4 This is what the LORD says to the house of Israel: "Seek me and live;
5 벧엘을 찾지 말며 길갈로 들어가지 말며 브엘세바로도 나아가지 말라 길갈은 반드시 사로잡히겠고 벧엘은 비참하게 될 것임이라 하셨나니
5 do not seek Bethel, do not go to Gilgal, do not journey to Beersheba. For Gilgal will surely go into exile, and Bethel will be reduced to nothing. "
6 너희는 여호와를 찾으라 그리하면 살리라 그렇지 않으면 그가 불 같이 요셉의 집에 임하여 멸하시리니 벧엘에서 그 불들을 끌 자가 없으리라
6 Seek the LORD and live, or he will sweep through the house of Joseph like a fire; it will devour, and Bethel will have no one to quench it.
7 정의를 쓴 쑥으로 바꾸며 공의를 땅에 던지는 자들아
7 You who turn justice into bitterness and cast righteousness to the ground
8 묘성과 삼성을 만드시며 사망의 그늘을 아침으로 바꾸시고 낮을 어두운 밤으로 바꾸시며 바닷물을 불러 지면에 쏟으시는 이를 찾으라 그의 이름은 여호와시니라
8 (he who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns blackness into dawn and darkens day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land-- the LORD is his name-
9 그가 강한 자에게 갑자기 패망이 이르게 하신즉 그 패망이 산성에 미치느니라
9 he flashes destruction on the stronghold and brings the fortified city to ruin),
10 무리가 성문에서 책망하는 자를 미워하며 정직히 말하는 자를 싫어하는도다
10 you hate the one who reproves in court and despise him who tells the truth.
11 너희가 힘없는 자를 밟고 그에게서 밀의 부당한 세를 거두었은즉 너희가 비록 다듬은 돌로 집을 건축하였으나 거기 거주하지 못할 것이요 아름다운 포도원을 가꾸었으나 그 포도주를 마시지 못하리라
11 You trample on the poor and force him to give you grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you will not live in them; though you have planted lush vineyards, you will not drink their wine.
12 너희의 허물이 많고 죄악이 무거움을 내가 아노라 너희는 의인을 학대하며 뇌물을 받고 성문에서 가난한 자를 억울하게 하는 자로다
12 For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins. You oppress the righteous and take bribes and you deprive the poor of justice in the courts.
13 그러므로 이런 때에 지혜자가 잠잠하나니 이는 악한 때임이니라
13 Therefore the prudent man keeps quiet in such times, for the times are evil.
14 너희는 살려면 선을 구하고 악을 구하지 말지어다 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 너희의 말과 같이 너희와 함께 하시리라
14 Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is.
15 너희는 악을 미워하고 선을 사랑하며 성문에서 정의를 세울지어다 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 혹시 요셉의 남은 자를 불쌍히 여기시리라
15 Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.
16 그러므로 주 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시기를 사람이 모든 광장에서 울겠고 모든 거리에서 슬프도다 슬프도다 하겠으며 농부를 불러다가 애곡하게 하며 울음꾼을 불러다가 울게 할 것이며
16 Therefore this is what the Lord, the LORD God Almighty, says: "There will be wailing in all the streets and cries of anguish in every public square. The farmers will be summoned to weep and the mourners to wail.
17 모든 포도원에서도 울리니 이는 내가 너희 가운데로 지나갈 것임이라 여호와의 말씀이니라
17 There will be wailing in all the vineyards, for I will pass through your midst," says the LORD.
18 화 있을진저 여호와의 날을 사모하는 자여 너희가 어찌하여 여호와의 날을 사모하느냐 그 날은 어둠이요 빛이 아니라
18 Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD ? That day will be darkness, not light.
19 마치 사람이 사자를 피하다가 곰을 만나거나 혹은 집에 들어가서 손을 벽에 대었다가 뱀에게 물림 같도다
19 It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him.
20 여호와의 날은 빛 없는 어둠이 아니며 빛남 없는 캄캄함이 아니냐
20 Will not the day of the LORD be darkness, not light-- pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?
21 내가 너희 절기들을 미워하여 멸시하며 너희 성회들을 기뻐하지 아니하나니
21 I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies.
22 너희가 내게 번제나 소제를 드릴지라도 내가 받지 아니할 것이요 너희의 살진 희생의 화목제도 내가 돌아보지 아니하리라
22 Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them.
23 네 노랫소리를 내 앞에서 그칠지어다 네 비파 소리도 내가 듣지 아니하리라
23 Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24 오직 정의를 물 같이, 공의를 마르지 않는 강 같이 흐르게 할지어다
24 But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
25 이스라엘 족속아 너희가 사십 년 동안 광야에서 희생과 소제물을 내게 드렸느냐
25 Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the desert, O house of Israel?
26 너희가 너희 왕 식굿과 기윤과 너희 우상들과 너희가 너희를 위하여 만든 신들의 별 형상을 지고 가리라
26 You have lifted up the shrine of your king, the pedestal of your idols, the star of your god -- which you made for yourselves.
27 내가 너희를 다메섹 밖으로 사로잡혀 가게 하리라 그의 이름이 만군의 하나님이라 불리우는 여호와께서 말씀하셨느니라
27 Therefore I will send you into exile beyond Damascus," says the LORD, whose name is God Almighty.
6장
1 화 있을진저 시온에서 교만한 자와 사마리아 산에서 마음이 든든한 자 곧 백성들의 머리인 지도자들이여 이스라엘 집이 그들을 따르는도다
1 Woe to you who are complacent in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria, you notable men of the foremost nation, to whom the people of Israel come!
2 너희는 갈레로 건너가 보고 거기에서 큰 하맛으로 가고 또 블레셋 사람의 가드로 내려가라 너희가 이 나라들보다 나으냐 그 영토가 너희 영토보다 넓으냐
2 Go to Calneh and look at it; go from there to great Hamath, and then go down to Gath in Philistia. Are they better off than your two kingdoms? Is their land larger than yours?
3 너희는 흉한 날이 멀다 하여 포악한 자리로 가까워지게 하고
3 You put off the evil day and bring near a reign of terror.
4 상아 상에 누우며 침상에서 기지개 켜며 양 떼에서 어린 양과 우리에서 송아지를 잡아서 먹고
4 You lie on beds inlaid with ivory and lounge on your couches. You dine on choice lambs and fattened calves.
5 비파 소리에 맞추어 노래를 지절거리며 다윗처럼 자기를 위하여 악기를 제조하며
5 You strum away on your harps like David and improvise on musical instruments.
6 대접으로 포도주를 마시며 귀한 기름을 몸에 바르면서 요셉의 환난에 대하여는 근심하지 아니하는 자로다
6 You drink wine by the bowlful and use the finest lotions, but you do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph.
7 그러므로 그들이 이제는 사로잡히는 자 중에 앞서 사로잡히리니 기지개 켜는 자의 떠드는 소리가 그치리라
7 Therefore you will be among the first to go into exile; your feasting and lounging will end.
8 만군의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이니라 주 여호와가 당신을 두고 맹세하셨노라 내가 야곱의 영광을 싫어하며 그 궁궐들을 미워하므로 이 성읍과 거기에 가득한 것을 원수에게 넘기리라 하셨느니라
8 The Sovereign LORD has sworn by himself--the LORD God Almighty declares: "I abhor the pride of Jacob and detest his fortresses; I will deliver up the city and everything in it."
9 한 집에 열 사람이 남는다 하여도 다 죽을 것이라
9 If ten men are left in one house, they too will die.
10 죽은 사람의 친척 곧 그 시체를 불사를 자가 그 뼈를 집 밖으로 가져갈 때에 그 집 깊숙한 곳에 있는 자에게 묻기를 아직 더 있느냐 하면 대답하기를 없다 하리니 그가 또 말하기를 잠잠하라 우리가 여호와의 이름을 부르지 못할 것이라 하리라
10 And if a relative who is to burn the bodies comes to carry them out of the house and asks anyone still hiding there, "Is anyone with you?" and he says, "No," then he will say, "Hush! We must not mention the name of the LORD."
11 보라 여호와께서 명령하시므로 타격을 받아 큰 집은 갈라지고 작은 집은 터지리라
11 For the LORD has given the command, and he will smash the great house into pieces and the small house into bits.
12 말들이 어찌 바위 위에서 달리겠으며 소가 어찌 거기서 밭 갈겠느냐 그런데 너희는 정의를 쓸개로 바꾸며 공의의 열매를 쓴 쑥으로 바꾸며
12 Do horses run on the rocky crags? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness-
13 허무한 것을 기뻐하며 이르기를 우리는 우리의 힘으로 뿔들을 취하지 아니하였느냐 하는도다
13 you who rejoice in the conquest of Lo Debar and say, "Did we not take Karnaim by our own strength?"
14 만군의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이니라 이스라엘 족속아 내가 한 나라를 일으켜 너희를 치리니 그들이 하맛 어귀에서부터 아라바 시내까지 너희를 학대하리라 하셨느니라
14 For the LORD God Almighty declares, "I will stir up a nation against you, O house of Israel, that will oppress you all the way from Lebo Hamath to the valley of the Arabah."시편 (Psalms)
1041 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 여호와 나의 하나님이여 주는 심히 위대하시며 존귀와 권위로 옷 입으셨나이다
1 Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
2 주께서 옷을 입음 같이 빛을 입으시며 하늘을 휘장 같이 치시며
2 He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent
3 물에 자기 누각의 들보를 얹으시며 구름으로 자기 수레를 삼으시고 바람 날개로 다니시며
3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.
4 바람을 자기 사신으로 삼으시고 불꽃으로 자기 사역자를 삼으시며
4 He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.
5 땅에 기초를 놓으사 영원히 흔들리지 아니하게 하셨나이다
5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
6 옷으로 덮음 같이 주께서 땅을 깊은 바다로 덮으시매 물이 산들 위로 솟아올랐으나
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
7 주께서 꾸짖으시니 물은 도망하며 주의 우렛소리로 말미암아 빨리 가며
7 But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
8 주께서 그들을 위하여 정하여 주신 곳으로 흘러갔고 산은 오르고 골짜기는 내려갔나이다
8 they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.
9 주께서 물의 경계를 정하여 넘치지 못하게 하시며 다시 돌아와 땅을 덮지 못하게 하셨나이다
9 You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.
10 여호와께서 샘을 골짜기에서 솟아나게 하시고 산 사이에 흐르게 하사
10 He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains.
11 각종 들짐승에게 마시게 하시니 들나귀들도 해갈하며
11 They give water to all the beasts of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 공중의 새들도 그 가에서 깃들이며 나뭇가지 사이에서 지저귀는도다
12 The birds of the air nest by the waters; they sing among the branches.
13 그가 그의 누각에서부터 산에 물을 부어 주시니 주께서 하시는 일의 결실이 땅을 만족시켜 주는도다
13 He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
14 그가 가축을 위한 풀과 사람을 위한 채소를 자라게 하시며 땅에서 먹을 것이 나게 하셔서
14 He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate-- bringing forth food from the earth:
15 사람의 마음을 기쁘게 하는 포도주와 사람의 얼굴을 윤택하게 하는 기름과 사람의 마음을 힘있게 하는 양식을 주셨도다
15 wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart.
16 여호와의 나무에는 물이 흡족함이여 곧 그가 심으신 레바논 백향목들이로다
16 The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
17 새들이 그 속에 깃들임이여 학은 잣나무로 집을 삼는도다
17 There the birds make their nests; the stork has its home in the pine trees.
18 높은 산들은 산양을 위함이여 바위는 너구리의 피난처로다
18 The high mountains belong to the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the coneys.
19 여호와께서 달로 절기를 정하심이여 해는 그 지는 때를 알도다
19 The moon marks off the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.
20 주께서 흑암을 지어 밤이 되게 하시니 삼림의 모든 짐승이 기어나오나이다
20 You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl.
21 젊은 사자들은 그들의 먹이를 쫓아 부르짖으며 그들의 먹이를 하나님께 구하다가
21 The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.
22 해가 돋으면 물러가서 그들의 굴 속에 눕고
22 The sun rises, and they steal away; they return and lie down in their dens.
23 사람은 나와서 일하며 저녁까지 수고하는도다
23 Then man goes out to his work, to his labor until evening.
24 여호와여 주께서 하신 일이 어찌 그리 많은지요 주께서 지혜로 그들을 다 지으셨으니 주께서 지으신 것들이 땅에 가득하니이다
24 How many are your works, O LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
25 거기에는 크고 넓은 바다가 있고 그 속에는 생물 곧 크고 작은 동물들이 무수하니이다
25 There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number-- living things both large and small.
26 그 곳에는 배들이 다니며 주께서 지으신 리워야단이 그 속에서 노나이다
26 There the ships go to and fro, and the leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.
27 이것들은 다 주께서 때를 따라 먹을 것을 주시기를 바라나이다
27 These all look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
28 주께서 주신즉 그들이 받으며 주께서 손을 펴신즉 그들이 좋은 것으로 만족하다가
28 When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
29 주께서 낯을 숨기신즉 그들이 떨고 주께서 그들의 호흡을 거두신즉 그들은 죽어 먼지로 돌아가나이다
29 When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust.
30 주의 영을 보내어 그들을 창조하사 지면을 새롭게 하시나이다
30 When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.
31 여호와의 영광이 영원히 계속할지며 여호와는 자신께서 행하시는 일들로 말미암아 즐거워하시리로다
31 May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works-
32 그가 땅을 보신즉 땅이 진동하며 산들을 만지신즉 연기가 나는도다
32 he who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 내가 평생토록 여호와께 노래하며 내가 살아 있는 동안 내 하나님을 찬양하리로다
33 I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34 나의 기도를 기쁘게 여기시기를 바라나니 나는 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하리로다
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD.
35 죄인들을 땅에서 소멸하시며 악인들을 다시 있지 못하게 하시리로다 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 할렐루야
35 But may sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more. Praise the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD.
