욥기
31장
1 내가 내 눈과 언약을 세웠나니 어찌 처녀에게 주목하랴
1 I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.
2 그리하면 위에 계신 하나님의 내리시는 분깃이 무엇이겠으며 높은 곳에서 전능자의 주시는 산업이 무엇이겠느냐
2 For what is man`s lot from God above, his heritage from the Almighty on high?
3 불의자에게는 환난이 아니겠느냐 행악자에게는 재앙이 아니겠느냐
3 Is it not ruin for the wicked, disaster for those who do wrong?
4 그가 내 길을 감찰하지 아니하시느냐 내 걸음을 다 세지 아니하시느냐
4 Does he not see my ways and count my every step?
5 언제 나의 행위가 허탄하였으며 내 발이 궤휼에 빨랐던가
5 If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit-
6 그리하였으면 내가 공평한 저울에 달려서 하나님이 나의 정직함을 아시게되기를 원하노라
6 let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless-
7 언제 내 걸음이 길에서 떠났던가 내 마음이 내 눈을 따라갔던가 내 손에 더러운 것이 묻었던가
7 if my steps have turned from the path, if my heart has been led by my eyes, or if my hands have been defiled,
8 그리하였으면 나의 심은 것을 타인이 먹으며 나의 소산이 뿌리까지 뽑히는 것이 마땅하니라
8 then may others eat what I have sown, and may my crops be uprooted.
9 언제 내 마음이 여인에게 유혹되어 이웃의 문을 엿보아 기다렸던가
9 If my heart has been enticed by a woman, or if I have lurked at my neighbor`s door,
10 그리하였으면 내 처가 타인의 매를 돌리며 타인이 더불어 동침하는 것이 마땅하니라
10 then may my wife grind another man`s grain, and may other men sleep with her.
11 이는 중죄라 재판장에게 벌 받을 악이요
11 For that would have been shameful, a sin to be judged.
12 멸망하도록 사르는 불이라 나의 모든 소산을 뿌리까지 없이할 것이니라
12 It is a fire that burns to Destruction ; it would have uprooted my harvest.
13 남종이나 여종이 나로 더불어 쟁변할 때에 내가 언제 그의 사정을 멸시하였던가
13 If I have denied justice to my menservants and maidservants when they had a grievance against me,
14 그리하였으면 하나님이 일어나실 때에는 내가 어떻게 하겠느냐 하나님이 국문하실 때에는 내가 무엇이라 대답하겠느냐
14 what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account?
15 나를 태 속에 만드신 자가 그도 만들지 아니하셨느냐 우리를 뱃속에 지으신 자가 하나가 아니시냐
15 Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?
16 내가 언제 가난한 자의 소원을 막았던가 과부의 눈으로 실망케 하였던가
16 If I have denied the desires of the poor or let the eyes of the widow grow weary,
17 나만 홀로 식물을 먹고 고아에게 먹이지 아니하였던가
17 if I have kept my bread to myself, not sharing it with the fatherless-
18 실상은 내가 젊었을 때부터 고아를 기르기를 그의 아비처럼 하였으며 내가 모태에서 나온 후로 과부를 인도하였었노라
18 but from my youth I reared him as would a father, and from my birth I guided the widow-
19 내가 언제 사람이 의복이 없이 죽게 된 것이나 빈궁한 자가 덮을 것이 없는 것을 보고도
19 if I have seen anyone perishing for lack of clothing, or a needy man without a garment,
20 나의 양털로 그 몸을 더웁게 입혀서 그로 나를 위하여 복을 빌게 하지 아니하였던가
20 and his heart did not bless me for warming him with the fleece from my sheep,
21 나를 도와주는 자가 성문에 있음을 보고 내가 손을 들어 고아를 쳤던가
21 if I have raised my hand against the fatherless, knowing that I had influence in court,
22 그리하였으면 내 어깨가 어깨 뼈에서 떨어지고 내 팔 뼈가 부러짐이 마땅하니라
22 then let my arm fall from the shoulder, let it be broken off at the joint.
23 나는 하나님의 재앙을 심히 두려워하고 그 위엄을 인하여 아무 것도 할 수 없느니라
23 For I dreaded destruction from God, and for fear of his splendor I could not do such things.
24 내가 언제 금으로 내 소망을 삼고 정금더러 너는 내 의뢰하는 바라 하였던가
24 If I have put my trust in gold or said to pure gold, `You are my security,`
25 언제 재물의 풍부함과 손으로 얻은 것이 많음으로 기뻐하였던가
25 if I have rejoiced over my great wealth, the fortune my hands had gained,
26 언제 태양의 빛남과 달의 명랑하게 운행되는 것을 보고
26 if I have regarded the sun in its radiance or the moon moving in splendor,
27 내 마음이 가만히 유혹되어 손에 입맞추었던가
27 so that my heart was secretly enticed and my hand offered them a kiss of homage,
28 이 역시 재판장에게 벌 받을 죄악이니 내가 그리하였으면 위에 계신 하나님을 배반한 것이니라
28 then these also would be sins to be judged, for I would have been unfaithful to God on high.
29 내가 언제 나를 미워하는 자의 멸망을 기뻐하였으며 그의 재앙 만남을 인하여 기운을 뽐내었던가
29 If I have rejoiced at my enemy`s misfortune or gloated over the trouble that came to him-
30 실상은 내가 그의 죽기를 구하는 말로 저주하여 내 입으로 범죄케 아니하였느니라
30 I have not allowed my mouth to sin by invoking a curse against his life-
31 내 장막 사람의 말이 주인의 고기에 배부르지 않은 자가 어디 있느뇨 하지 아니하였었는가
31 if the men of my household have never said, `Who has not had his fill of Job`s meat?`-
32 나그네로 거리에서 자게 하지 아니하고 내가 행인에게 내 문을 열어 주었었노라
32 but no stranger had to spend the night in the street, for my door was always open to the traveler-
33 내가 언제 큰 무리를 두려워하며 족속의 멸시를 무서워함으로 잠잠하고 문에 나가지 아니하여 타인처럼 내 죄악을 품에 숨겨 허물을 가리었었던가
33 if I have concealed my sin as men do, by hiding my guilt in my heart

34 because I so feared the crowd and so dreaded the contempt of the clans that I kept silent and would not go outside
35 누구든지 나의 변백을 들을찌니라 나의 서명이 여기 있으니 전능자가 내게 대답하시기를 원하노라 내 대적의 기록한 소송장이 내게 있었으면
35 ("Oh, that I had someone to hear me! I sign now my defense--let the Almighty answer me; let my accuser put his indictment in writing.
36 내가 어깨에 메기도 하고 면류관처럼 머리에 쓰기도 하며
36 Surely I would wear it on my shoulder, I would put it on like a crown.
37 내 걸음의 수효를 그에게 고하고 왕족처럼 그를 가까이 하였으리라
37 I would give him an account of my every step; like a prince I would approach him.)-
38 언제 내 토지가 부르짖어 나를 책망하며 그 이랑이 일시에 울었던가
38 if my land cries out against me and all its furrows are wet with tears,
39 언제 내가 값을 내지 않고 그 소산물을 먹고 그 소유주로 생명을 잃게 하였던가
39 if I have devoured its yield without payment or broken the spirit of its tenants,
40 그리 하였으면 밀 대신에 찔레가 나고 보리 대신에 잡풀이 나는 것이 마땅하니라 하고 욥의 말이 그치니라
40 then let briers come up instead of wheat and weeds instead of barley." The words of Job are ended.고린도후서
3장
7 돌에 써서 새긴 죽게 하는 의문의 직분도 영광이 있어 이스라엘 자손들이 모세의 얼굴의 없어질 영광을 인하여 그 얼굴을 주목하지 못하였거든
7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was,
8 하물며 영의 직분이 더욱 영광이 있지 아니하겠느냐
8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
9 정죄의 직분도 영광이 있은즉 의의 직분은 영광이 더욱 넘치리라
9 If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!
10 영광되었던 것이 더 큰 영광을 인하여 이에 영광될 것이 없으나
10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory.
11 없어질 것도 영광으로 말미암았은즉 길이 있을 것은 더욱 영광 가운데 있느니라
11 And if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
12 우리가 이같은 소망이 있으므로 담대히 말하노니
12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.
13 우리는 모세가 이스라엘 자손들로 장차 없어질 것의 결국을 주목치 못하게 하려고 수건을 그 얼굴에 쓴것 같이 아니하노라
13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away.
14 그러나 저희 마음이 완고하여 오늘까지라도 구약을 읽을 때에 그 수건이 오히려 벗어지지 아니하고 있으니 그 수건은 그리스도 안에서 없어질 것이라
14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.
15 오늘까지 모세의 글을 읽을 때에 수건이 오히려 그 마음을 덮었도다
15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.
16 그러나 언제든지 주께로 돌아가면 그 수건이 벗어지리라
16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 주는 영이시니 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유함이 있느니라
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
18 우리가 다 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 거울을 보는것 같이 주의 영광을 보매 저와 같은 형상으로 화하여 영광으로 영광에 이르니 곧 주의 영으로 말미암음이니라
18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord`s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
