7
1 예수께서 모든 말씀을 백성에게 들려 주시기를 마치신 후에 가버나움으로 들어가시니라
1 When Jesus had finished saying all this in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
2 어떤 백부장의 사랑하는 종이 병들어 죽게 되었더니
2 There a centurion`s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die.
3 예수의 소문을 듣고 유대인의 장로 몇 사람을 예수께 보내어 오셔서 그 종을 구해 주시기를 청한지라
3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant.
4 이에 그들이 예수께 나아와 간절히 구하여 이르되 이 일을 하시는 것이 이 사람에게는 합당하니이다
4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, "This man deserves to have you do this,
5 그가 우리 민족을 사랑하고 또한 우리를 위하여 회당을 지었나이다 하니
5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue."
6 예수께서 함께 가실새 이에 그 집이 멀지 아니하여 백부장이 벗들을 보내어 이르되 주여 수고하시지 마옵소서 내 집에 들어오심을 나는 감당하지 못하겠나이다
6 So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: "Lord, don`t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.
7 그러므로 내가 주께 나아가기도 감당하지 못할 줄을 알았나이다 말씀만 하사 내 하인을 낫게 하소서
7 That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 나도 남의 수하에 든 사람이요 내 아래에도 병사가 있으니 이더러 가라 하면 가고 저더러 오라 하면 오고 내 종더러 이것을 하라 하면 하나이다
8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, `Go,` and he goes; and that one, `Come,` and he comes. I say to my servant, `Do this,` and he does it."
9 예수께서 들으시고 그를 놀랍게 여겨 돌이키사 따르는 무리에게 이르시되 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이스라엘 중에서도 이만한 믿음은 만나보지 못하였노라 하시더라
9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel."
10 보내었던 사람들이 집으로 돌아가 보매 종이 이미 나아 있었더라
10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.
11 그 후에 예수께서 나인이란 성으로 가실새 제자와 많은 무리가 동행하더니
11 Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him.
12 성문에 가까이 이르실 때에 사람들이 한 죽은 자를 메고 나오니 이는 한 어머니의 독자요 그의 어머니는 과부라 그 성의 많은 사람도 그와 함께 나오거늘
12 As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out--the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.
13 주께서 과부를 보시고 불쌍히 여기사 울지 말라 하시고
13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don`t cry."
14 가까이 가서 그 관에 손을 대시니 멘 자들이 서는지라 예수께서 이르시되 청년아 내가 네게 말하노니 일어나라 하시매
14 Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!"
15 죽었던 자가 일어나 앉고 말도 하거늘 예수께서 그를 어머니에게 주시니
15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
16 모든 사람이 두려워하며 하나님께 영광을 돌려 이르되 큰 선지자가 우리 가운데 일어나셨다 하고 또 하나님께서 자기 백성을 돌보셨다 하더라
16 They were all filled with awe and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us," they said. "God has come to help his people."
17 예수께 대한 이 소문이 온 유대와 사방에 두루 퍼지니라
17 This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.
18 요한의 제자들이 이 모든 일을 그에게 알리니
18 John`s disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them,
19 요한이 그 제자 중 둘을 불러 주께 보내어 이르되 오실 그이가 당신이오니이까 우리가 다른 이를 기다리오리이까 하라 하매
19 he sent them to the Lord to ask, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"
20 그들이 예수께 나아가 이르되 세례 요한이 우리를 보내어 당신께 여쭈어 보라고 하기를 오실 그이가 당신이오니이까 우리가 다른 이를 기다리오리이까 하더이다 하니
20 When the men came to Jesus, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, `Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?` "
21 마침 그 때에 예수께서 질병과 고통과 및 악귀 들린 자를 많이 고치시며 또 많은 맹인을 보게 하신지라
21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind.
22 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 너희가 가서 보고 들은 것을 요한에게 알리되 맹인이 보며 못 걷는 사람이 걸으며 나병환자가 깨끗함을 받으며 귀먹은 사람이 들으며 죽은 자가 살아나며 가난한 자에게 복음이 전파된다 하라
22 So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
23 누구든지 나로 말미암아 실족하지 아니하는 자는 복이 있도다 하시니라
23 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me."
24 요한이 보낸 자가 떠난 후에 예수께서 무리에게 요한에 대하여 말씀하시되 너희가 무엇을 보려고 광야에 나갔더냐 바람에 흔들리는 갈대냐
24 After John`s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind?
25 그러면 너희가 무엇을 보려고 나갔더냐 부드러운 옷 입은 사람이냐 보라 화려한 옷을 입고 사치하게 지내는 자는 왕궁에 있느니라
25 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces.
26 그러면 너희가 무엇을 보려고 나갔더냐 선지자냐 옳다 내가 너희에게 이르노니 선지자보다도 훌륭한 자니라
26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
27 기록된 바 보라 내가 내 사자를 네 앞에 보내노니 그가 네 앞에서 네 길을 준비하리라 한 것이 이 사람에 대한 말씀이라
27 This is the one about whom it is written: " `I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.`
28 내가 너희에게 말하노니 여자가 낳은 자 중에 요한보다 큰 자가 없도다 그러나 하나님의 나라에서는 극히 작은 자라도 그보다 크니라 하시니
28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."
29 모든 백성과 세리들은 이미 요한의 세례를 받은지라 이 말씀을 듣고 하나님을 의롭다 하되
29 (All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus` words, acknowledged that God`s way was right, because they had been baptized by John.
30 바리새인과 율법교사들은 그의 세례를 받지 아니함으로 그들 자신을 위한 하나님의 뜻을 저버리니라
30 But the Pharisees and experts in the law rejected God`s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.)
31 또 이르시되 이 세대의 사람을 무엇으로 비유할까 무엇과 같은가
31 To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?
32 비유하건대 아이들이 장터에 앉아 서로 불러 이르되 우리가 너희를 향하여 피리를 불어도 너희가 춤추지 않고 우리가 곡하여도 너희가 울지 아니하였다 함과 같도다
32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: " `We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.`
33 세례 요한이 와서 떡도 먹지 아니하며 포도주도 마시지 아니하매 너희 말이 귀신이 들렸다 하더니
33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, `He has a demon.`
34 인자는 와서 먹고 마시매 너희 말이 보라 먹기를 탐하고 포도주를 즐기는 사람이요 세리와 죄인의 친구로다 하니
34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, `Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." `
35 지혜는 자기의 모든 자녀로 인하여 옳다 함을 얻느니라
35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children."
36 한 바리새인이 예수께 자기와 함께 잡수시기를 청하니 이에 바리새인의 집에 들어가 앉으셨을 때에
36 Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee`s house and reclined at the table.
37 그 동네에 죄를 지은 한 여자가 있어 예수께서 바리새인의 집에 앉아 계심을 알고 향유 담은 옥합을 가지고 와서
37 When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee`s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume,
38 예수의 뒤로 그 발 곁에 서서 울며 눈물로 그 발을 적시고 자기 머리털로 닦고 그 발에 입맞추고 향유를 부으니
38 and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.
39 예수를 청한 바리새인이 그것을 보고 마음에 이르되 이 사람이 만일 선지자라면 자기를 만지는 이 여자가 누구며 어떠한 자 곧 죄인인 줄을 알았으리라 하거늘
39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is--that she is a sinner."
40 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 시몬아 내가 네게 이를 말이 있다 하시니 그가 이르되 선생님 말씀하소서
40 Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to tell you." "Tell me, teacher," he said.
41 이르시되 빚 주는 사람에게 빚진 자가 둘이 있어 하나는 오백 데나리온을 졌고 하나는 오십 데나리온을 졌는데
41 Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 갚을 것이 없으므로 둘 다 탕감하여 주었으니 둘 중에 누가 그를 더 사랑하겠느냐
42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?"
43 시몬이 대답하여 이르되 내 생각에는 많이 탕감함을 받은 자니이다 이르시되 네 판단이 옳다 하시고
43 Simon replied, "I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled." "You have judged correctly," Jesus said.
44 그 여자를 돌아보시며 시몬에게 이르시되 이 여자를 보느냐 내가 네 집에 들어올 때 너는 내게 발 씻을 물도 주지 아니하였으되 이 여자는 눈물로 내 발을 적시고 그 머리털로 닦았으며
44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
45 너는 내게 입맞추지 아니하였으되 그는 내가 들어올 때로부터 내 발에 입맞추기를 그치지 아니하였으며
45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.
46 너는 내 머리에 감람유도 붓지 아니하였으되 그는 향유를 내 발에 부었느니라
46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet.
47 이러므로 내가 네게 말하노니 그의 많은 죄가 사하여졌도다 이는 그의 사랑함이 많음이라 사함을 받은 일이 적은 자는 적게 사랑하느니라
47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little."
48 이에 여자에게 이르시되 네 죄 사함을 받았느니라 하시니
48 Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
49 함께 앉아 있는 자들이 속으로 말하되 이가 누구이기에 죄도 사하는가 하더라
49 The other guests began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"
50 예수께서 여자에게 이르시되 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였으니 평안히 가라 하시니라
50 Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."잠언 (Proverbs)
181 무리에게서 스스로 갈라지는 자는 자기 소욕을 따르는 자라 온갖 참 지혜를 배척하느니라
1 An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defies all sound judgment.
2 미련한 자는 명철을 기뻐하지 아니하고 자기의 의사를 드러내기만 기뻐하느니라
2 A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.
3 악한 자가 이를 때에는 멸시도 따라오고 부끄러운 것이 이를 때에는 능욕도 함께 오느니라
3 When wickedness comes, so does contempt, and with shame comes disgrace.
4 명철한 사람의 입의 말은 깊은 물과 같고 지혜의 샘은 솟구쳐 흐르는 내와 같으니라
4 The words of a man`s mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.
5 악인을 두둔하는 것과 재판할 때에 의인을 억울하게 하는 것이 선하지 아니하니라
5 It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the innocent of justice.
6 미련한 자의 입술은 다툼을 일으키고 그의 입은 매를 자청하느니라
6 A fool`s lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating.
7 미련한 자의 입은 그의 멸망이 되고 그의 입술은 그의 영혼의 그물이 되느니라
7 A fool`s mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
8 남의 말하기를 좋아하는 자의 말은 별식과 같아서 뱃속 깊은 데로 내려가느니라
8 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man`s inmost parts.
9 자기의 일을 게을리하는 자는 패가하는 자의 형제니라
9 One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.
10 여호와의 이름은 견고한 망대라 의인은 그리로 달려가서 안전함을 얻느니라
10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
11 부자의 재물은 그의 견고한 성이라 그가 높은 성벽 같이 여기느니라
11 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it an unscalable wall.
12 사람의 마음의 교만은 멸망의 선봉이요 겸손은 존귀의 길잡이니라
12 Before his downfall a man`s heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.
13 사연을 듣기 전에 대답하는 자는 미련하여 욕을 당하느니라
13 He who answers before listening-- that is his folly and his shame.
14 사람의 심령은 그의 병을 능히 이기려니와 심령이 상하면 그것을 누가 일으키겠느냐
14 A man`s spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?
15 명철한 자의 마음은 지식을 얻고 지혜로운 자의 귀는 지식을 구하느니라
15 The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out.
16 사람의 선물은 그의 길을 넓게 하며 또 존귀한 자 앞으로 그를 인도하느니라
16 A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great.
17 송사에서는 먼저 온 사람의 말이 바른 것 같으나 그의 상대자가 와서 밝히느니라
17 The first to present his case seems right, till another comes forward and questions him.
18 제비 뽑는 것은 다툼을 그치게 하여 강한 자 사이에 해결하게 하느니라
18 Casting the lot settles disputes and keeps strong opponents apart.
19 노엽게 한 형제와 화목하기가 견고한 성을 취하기보다 어려운즉 이러한 다툼은 산성 문빗장 같으니라
19 An offended brother is more unyielding than a fortified city, and disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.
20 사람은 입에서 나오는 열매로 말미암아 배부르게 되나니 곧 그의 입술에서 나는 것으로 말미암아 만족하게 되느니라
20 From the fruit of his mouth a man`s stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.
21 죽고 사는 것이 혀의 힘에 달렸나니 혀를 쓰기 좋아하는 자는 혀의 열매를 먹으리라
21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
22 아내를 얻는 자는 복을 얻고 여호와께 은총을 받는 자니라
22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.
23 가난한 자는 간절한 말로 구하여도 부자는 엄한 말로 대답하느니라
23 A poor man pleads for mercy, but a rich man answers harshly.
24 많은 친구를 얻는 자는 해를 당하게 되거니와 어떤 친구는 형제보다 친밀하니라
24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
