14-15
1 안식일에 예수께서 한 바리새인 지도자의 집에 떡 잡수시러 들어가시니 그들이 엿보고 있더라
1 One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched.
2 주의 앞에 수종병 든 한 사람이 있는지라
2 There in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy.
3 예수께서 대답하여 율법교사들과 바리새인들에게 이르시되 안식일에 병 고쳐 주는 것이 합당하냐 아니하냐
3 Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?"
4 그들이 잠잠하거늘 예수께서 그 사람을 데려다가 고쳐 보내시고
4 But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him away.
5 또 그들에게 이르시되 너희 중에 누가 그 아들이나 소가 우물에 빠졌으면 안식일에라도 곧 끌어내지 않겠느냐 하시니
5 Then he asked them, "If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out?"
6 그들이 이에 대하여 대답하지 못하니라
6 And they had nothing to say.
7 청함을 받은 사람들이 높은 자리 택함을 보시고 그들에게 비유로 말씀하여 이르시되
7 When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable:
8 네가 누구에게나 혼인 잔치에 청함을 받았을 때에 높은 자리에 앉지 말라 그렇지 않으면 너보다 더 높은 사람이 청함을 받은 경우에
8 When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited.
9 너와 그를 청한 자가 와서 너더러 이 사람에게 자리를 내주라 하리니 그 때에 네가 부끄러워 끝자리로 가게 되리라
9 If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, `Give this man your seat.` Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place.
10 청함을 받았을 때에 차라리 가서 끝자리에 앉으라 그러면 너를 청한 자가 와서 너더러 벗이여 올라 앉으라 하리니 그 때에야 함께 앉은 모든 사람 앞에서 영광이 있으리라
10 But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, `Friend, move up to a better place.` Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests.
11 무릇 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라
11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
12 또 자기를 청한 자에게 이르시되 네가 점심이나 저녁이나 베풀거든 벗이나 형제나 친척이나 부한 이웃을 청하지 말라 두렵건대 그 사람들이 너를 도로 청하여 네게 갚음이 될까 하노라
12 Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.
13 잔치를 베풀거든 차라리 가난한 자들과 몸 불편한 자들과 저는 자들과 맹인들을 청하라
13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,
14 그리하면 그들이 갚을 것이 없으므로 네게 복이 되리니 이는 의인들의 부활시에 네가 갚음을 받겠음이라 하시더라
14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
15 함께 먹는 사람 중의 하나가 이 말을 듣고 이르되 무릇 하나님의 나라에서 떡을 먹는 자는 복되도다 하니
15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, "Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God."
16 이르시되 어떤 사람이 큰 잔치를 베풀고 많은 사람을 청하였더니
16 Jesus replied: "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.
17 잔치할 시각에 그 청하였던 자들에게 종을 보내어 이르되 오소서 모든 것이 준비되었나이다 하매
17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, `Come, for everything is now ready.`
18 다 일치하게 사양하여 한 사람은 이르되 나는 밭을 샀으매 아무래도 나가 보아야 하겠으니 청컨대 나를 양해하도록 하라 하고
18 But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, `I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.`
19 또 한 사람은 이르되 나는 소 다섯 겨리를 샀으매 시험하러 가니 청컨대 나를 양해하도록 하라 하고
19 Another said, `I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I`m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.`
20 또 한 사람은 이르되 나는 장가 들었으니 그러므로 가지 못하겠노라 하는지라
20 Still another said, `I just got married, so I can`t come.`
21 종이 돌아와 주인에게 그대로 고하니 이에 집 주인이 노하여 그 종에게 이르되 빨리 시내의 거리와 골목으로 나가서 가난한 자들과 몸 불편한 자들과 맹인들과 저는 자들을 데려오라 하니라
21 The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, `Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.`
22 종이 이르되 주인이여 명하신 대로 하였으되 아직도 자리가 있나이다
22 `Sir,` the servant said, `what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.`
23 주인이 종에게 이르되 길과 산울타리 가로 나가서 사람을 강권하여 데려다가 내 집을 채우라
23 Then the master told his servant, `Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.
24 내가 너희에게 말하노니 전에 청하였던 그 사람들은 하나도 내 잔치를 맛보지 못하리라 하였다 하시니라
24 I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.` "
25 수많은 무리가 함께 갈새 예수께서 돌이키사 이르시되
25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said:
26 무릇 내게 오는 자가 자기 부모와 처자와 형제와 자매와 더욱이 자기 목숨까지 미워하지 아니하면 능히 내 제자가 되지 못하고
26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple.
27 누구든지 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 따르지 않는 자도 능히 내 제자가 되지 못하리라
27 And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
28 너희 중의 누가 망대를 세우고자 할진대 자기의 가진 것이 준공하기까지에 족할는지 먼저 앉아 그 비용을 계산하지 아니하겠느냐
28 Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?
29 그렇게 아니하여 그 기초만 쌓고 능히 이루지 못하면 보는 자가 다 비웃어
29 For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,
30 이르되 이 사람이 공사를 시작하고 능히 이루지 못하였다 하리라
30 saying, `This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.`
31 또 어떤 임금이 다른 임금과 싸우러 갈 때에 먼저 앉아 일만 명으로써 저 이만 명을 거느리고 오는 자를 대적할 수 있을까 헤아리지 아니하겠느냐
31 Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
32 만일 못할 터이면 그가 아직 멀리 있을 때에 사신을 보내어 화친을 청할지니라
32 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.
33 이와 같이 너희 중의 누구든지 자기의 모든 소유를 버리지 아니하면 능히 내 제자가 되지 못하리라
33 In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.
34 소금이 좋은 것이나 소금도 만일 그 맛을 잃으면 무엇으로 짜게 하리요
34 Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?
35 땅에도, 거름에도 쓸 데 없어 내버리느니라 들을 귀가 있는 자는 들을지어다 하시니라
35 It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
15장
1 모든 세리와 죄인들이 말씀을 들으러 가까이 나아오니
1 Now the tax collectors and "sinners" were all gathering around to hear him.
2 바리새인과 서기관들이 수군거려 이르되 이 사람이 죄인을 영접하고 음식을 같이 먹는다 하더라
2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."
3 예수께서 그들에게 이 비유로 이르시되
3 Then Jesus told them this parable:
4 너희 중에 어떤 사람이 양 백 마리가 있는데 그 중의 하나를 잃으면 아흔아홉 마리를 들에 두고 그 잃은 것을 찾아내기까지 찾아다니지 아니하겠느냐
4 Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?
5 또 찾아낸즉 즐거워 어깨에 메고
5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders
6 집에 와서 그 벗과 이웃을 불러 모으고 말하되 나와 함께 즐기자 나의 잃은 양을 찾아내었노라 하리라
6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.`
7 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이와 같이 죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하늘에서는 회개할 것 없는 의인 아흔아홉으로 말미암아 기뻐하는 것보다 더하리라
7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
8 어떤 여자가 열 드라크마가 있는데 하나를 잃으면 등불을 켜고 집을 쓸며 찾아내기까지 부지런히 찾지 아니하겠느냐
8 Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?
9 또 찾아낸즉 벗과 이웃을 불러 모으고 말하되 나와 함께 즐기자 잃은 드라크마를 찾아내었노라 하리라
9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.`
10 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이와 같이 죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하나님의 사자들 앞에 기쁨이 되느니라
10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
11 또 이르시되 어떤 사람에게 두 아들이 있는데
11 Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons.
12 그 둘째가 아버지에게 말하되 아버지여 재산 중에서 내게 돌아올 분깃을 내게 주소서 하는지라 아버지가 그 살림을 각각 나눠 주었더니
12 The younger one said to his father, `Father, give me my share of the estate.` So he divided his property between them.
13 그 후 며칠이 안 되어 둘째 아들이 재물을 다 모아 가지고 먼 나라에 가 거기서 허랑방탕하여 그 재산을 낭비하더니
13 Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
14 다 없앤 후 그 나라에 크게 흉년이 들어 그가 비로소 궁핍한지라
14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.
15 가서 그 나라 백성 중 한 사람에게 붙여 사니 그가 그를 들로 보내어 돼지를 치게 하였는데
15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.
16 그가 돼지 먹는 쥐엄 열매로 배를 채우고자 하되 주는 자가 없는지라
16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
17 이에 스스로 돌이켜 이르되 내 아버지에게는 양식이 풍족한 품꾼이 얼마나 많은가 나는 여기서 주려 죽는구나
17 When he came to his senses, he said, `How many of my father`s hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!
18 내가 일어나 아버지께 가서 이르기를 아버지 내가 하늘과 아버지께 죄를 지었사오니
18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
19 지금부터는 아버지의 아들이라 일컬음을 감당하지 못하겠나이다 나를 품꾼의 하나로 보소서 하리라 하고
19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.`
20 이에 일어나서 아버지께로 돌아가니라 아직도 거리가 먼데 아버지가 그를 보고 측은히 여겨 달려가 목을 안고 입을 맞추니
20 So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
21 아들이 이르되 아버지 내가 하늘과 아버지께 죄를 지었사오니 지금부터는 아버지의 아들이라 일컬음을 감당하지 못하겠나이다 하나
21 The son said to him, `Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.`
22 아버지는 종들에게 이르되 제일 좋은 옷을 내어다가 입히고 손에 가락지를 끼우고 발에 신을 신기라
22 But the father said to his servants, `Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
23 그리고 살진 송아지를 끌어다가 잡으라 우리가 먹고 즐기자
23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let`s have a feast and celebrate.
24 이 내 아들은 죽었다가 다시 살아났으며 내가 잃었다가 다시 얻었노라 하니 그들이 즐거워하더라
24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.` So they began to celebrate.
25 맏아들은 밭에 있다가 돌아와 집에 가까이 왔을 때에 풍악과 춤추는 소리를 듣고
25 Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 한 종을 불러 이 무슨 일인가 물은대
26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on.
27 대답하되 당신의 동생이 돌아왔으매 당신의 아버지가 건강한 그를 다시 맞아들이게 됨으로 인하여 살진 송아지를 잡았나이다 하니
27 `Your brother has come,` he replied, `and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.`
28 그가 노하여 들어가고자 하지 아니하거늘 아버지가 나와서 권한대
28 The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him.
29 아버지께 대답하여 이르되 내가 여러 해 아버지를 섬겨 명을 어김이 없거늘 내게는 염소 새끼라도 주어 나와 내 벗으로 즐기게 하신 일이 없더니
29 But he answered his father, `Look! All these years I`ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.
30 아버지의 살림을 창녀들과 함께 삼켜 버린 이 아들이 돌아오매 이를 위하여 살진 송아지를 잡으셨나이다
30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!`
31 아버지가 이르되 얘 너는 항상 나와 함께 있으니 내 것이 다 네 것이로되
31 `My son,` the father said, `you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.
32 이 네 동생은 죽었다가 살아났으며 내가 잃었다가 얻었기로 우리가 즐거워하고 기뻐하는 것이 마땅하다 하니라
32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.` "잠언 (Proverbs)
24:1-221 너는 악인의 형통함을 부러워하지 말며 그와 함께 있으려고 하지도 말지어다
1 Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;
2 그들의 마음은 강포를 품고 그들의 입술은 재앙을 말함이니라
2 for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.
3 집은 지혜로 말미암아 건축되고 명철로 말미암아 견고하게 되며
3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
4 또 방들은 지식으로 말미암아 각종 귀하고 아름다운 보배로 채우게 되느니라
4 through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
5 지혜 있는 자는 강하고 지식 있는 자는 힘을 더하나니
5 A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength;
6 너는 전략으로 싸우라 승리는 지략이 많음에 있느니라
6 for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.
7 지혜는 너무 높아서 미련한 자가 미치지 못할 것이므로 그는 성문에서 입을 열지 못하느니라
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.
8 악행하기를 꾀하는 자를 일컬어 사악한 자라 하느니라
8 He who plots evil will be known as a schemer.
9 미련한 자의 생각은 죄요 거만한 자는 사람에게 미움을 받느니라
9 The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker.
10 네가 만일 환난 날에 낙담하면 네 힘이 미약함을 보임이니라
10 If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!
11 너는 사망으로 끌려가는 자를 건져 주며 살륙을 당하게 된 자를 구원하지 아니하려고 하지 말라
11 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
12 네가 말하기를 나는 그것을 알지 못하였노라 할지라도 마음을 저울질 하시는 이가 어찌 통찰하지 못하시겠으며 네 영혼을 지키시는 이가 어찌 알지 못하시겠느냐 그가 각 사람의 행위대로 보응하시리라
12 If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?
13 내 아들아 꿀을 먹으라 이것이 좋으니라 송이꿀을 먹으라 이것이 네 입에 다니라
13 Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
14 지혜가 네 영혼에게 이와 같은 줄을 알라 이것을 얻으면 정녕히 네 장래가 있겠고 네 소망이 끊어지지 아니하리라
14 Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
15 악한 자여 의인의 집을 엿보지 말며 그가 쉬는 처소를 헐지 말지니라
15 Do not lie in wait like an outlaw against a righteous man`s house, do not raid his dwelling place;
16 대저 의인은 일곱 번 넘어질지라도 다시 일어나려니와 악인은 재앙으로 말미암아 엎드러지느니라
16 for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity.
17 네 원수가 넘어질 때에 즐거워하지 말며 그가 엎드러질 때에 마음에 기뻐하지 말라
17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,
18 여호와께서 이것을 보시고 기뻐하지 아니하사 그의 진노를 그에게서 옮기실까 두려우니라
18 or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him.
19 너는 행악자들로 말미암아 분을 품지 말며 악인의 형통함을 부러워하지 말라
19 Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked,
20 대저 행악자는 장래가 없겠고 악인의 등불은 꺼지리라
20 for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
21 내 아들아 여호와와 왕을 경외하고 반역자와 더불어 사귀지 말라
21 Fear the LORD and the king, my son, and do not join with the rebellious,
22 대저 그들의 재앙은 속히 임하리니 그 둘의 멸망을 누가 알랴
22 for those two will send sudden destruction upon them, and who knows what calamities they can bring? Further Sayings of the Wise
