17:11-18:30
11 예수께서 예루살렘으로 가실 때에 사마리아와 갈릴리 사이로 지나가시다가
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
12 한 마을에 들어가시니 나병환자 열 명이 예수를 만나 멀리 서서
12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosymet him. They stood at a distance
13 소리를 높여 이르되 예수 선생님이여 우리를 불쌍히 여기소서 하거늘
13 and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"
14 보시고 이르시되 가서 제사장들에게 너희 몸을 보이라 하셨더니 그들이 가다가 깨끗함을 받은지라
14 When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 그 중의 한 사람이 자기가 나은 것을 보고 큰 소리로 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 돌아와
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.
16 예수의 발 아래에 엎드리어 감사하니 그는 사마리아 사람이라
16 He threw himself at Jesus` feet and thanked him--and he was a Samaritan.
17 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 열 사람이 다 깨끗함을 받지 아니하였느냐 그 아홉은 어디 있느냐
17 Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
18 이 이방인 외에는 하나님께 영광을 돌리러 돌아온 자가 없느냐 하시고
18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"
19 그에게 이르시되 일어나 가라 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였느니라 하시더라
19 Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."
20 바리새인들이 하나님의 나라가 어느 때에 임하나이까 묻거늘 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 하나님의 나라는 볼 수 있게 임하는 것이 아니요
20 Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation,
21 또 여기 있다 저기 있다고도 못하리니 하나님의 나라는 너희 안에 있느니라
21 nor will people say, `Here it is,` or `There it is,` because the kingdom of God is within you."
22 또 제자들에게 이르시되 때가 이르리니 너희가 인자의 날 하루를 보고자 하되 보지 못하리라
22 Then he said to his disciples, "The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
23 사람이 너희에게 말하되 보라 저기 있다 보라 여기 있다 하리라 그러나 너희는 가지도 말고 따르지도 말라
23 Men will tell you, `There he is!` or `Here he is!` Do not go running off after them.
24 번개가 하늘 아래 이쪽에서 번쩍이어 하늘 아래 저쪽까지 비침같이 인자도 자기 날에 그러하리라
24 For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.
25 그러나 그가 먼저 많은 고난을 받으며 이 세대에게 버린 바 되어야 할지니라
25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
26 노아의 때에 된 것과 같이 인자의 때에도 그러하리라
26 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
27 노아가 방주에 들어가던 날까지 사람들이 먹고 마시고 장가 들고 시집 가더니 홍수가 나서 그들을 다 멸망시켰으며
27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 또 롯의 때와 같으리니 사람들이 먹고 마시고 사고 팔고 심고 집을 짓더니
28 It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.
29 롯이 소돔에서 나가던 날에 하늘로부터 불과 유황이 비오듯 하여 그들을 멸망시켰느니라
29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 인자가 나타나는 날에도 이러하리라
30 It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
31 그 날에 만일 사람이 지붕 위에 있고 그의 세간이 그 집 안에 있으면 그것을 가지러 내려가지 말 것이요 밭에 있는 자도 그와 같이 뒤로 돌이키지 말 것이니라
31 On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.
32 롯의 처를 기억하라
32 Remember Lot`s wife!
33 무릇 자기 목숨을 보전하고자 하는 자는 잃을 것이요 잃는 자는 살리리라
33 Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
34 내가 너희에게 이르노니 그 밤에 둘이 한 자리에 누워 있으매 하나는 데려감을 얻고 하나는 버려둠을 당할 것이요
34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
35 두 여자가 함께 맷돌을 갈고 있으매 하나는 데려감을 얻고 하나는 버려둠을 당할 것이니라
35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."

37 그들이 대답하여 이르되 주여 어디오니이까 이르시되 주검 있는 곳에는 독수리가 모이느니라 하시니라
37 Where, Lord? they asked. He replied, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather."
18장
1 예수께서 그들에게 항상 기도하고 낙심하지 말아야 할 것을 비유로 말씀하여
1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
2 이르시되 어떤 도시에 하나님을 두려워하지 않고 사람을 무시하는 한 재판장이 있는데
2 He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.
3 그 도시에 한 과부가 있어 자주 그에게 가서 내 원수에 대한 나의 원한을 풀어 주소서 하되
3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, `Grant me justice against my adversary.`
4 그가 얼마 동안 듣지 아니하다가 후에 속으로 생각하되 내가 하나님을 두려워하지 않고 사람을 무시하나
4 For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, `Even though I don`t fear God or care about men,
5 이 과부가 나를 번거롭게 하니 내가 그 원한을 풀어 주리라 그렇지 않으면 늘 와서 나를 괴롭게 하리라 하였느니라
5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won`t eventually wear me out with her coming!` "
6 주께서 또 이르시되 불의한 재판장이 말한 것을 들으라
6 And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says.
7 하물며 하나님께서 그 밤낮 부르짖는 택하신 자들의 원한을 풀어 주지 아니하시겠느냐 그들에게 오래 참으시겠느냐
7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
8 내가 너희에게 이르노니 속히 그 원한을 풀어 주시리라 그러나 인자가 올 때에 세상에서 믿음을 보겠느냐 하시니라
8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
9 또 자기를 의롭다고 믿고 다른 사람을 멸시하는 자들에게 이 비유로 말씀하시되
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:
10 두 사람이 기도하러 성전에 올라가니 하나는 바리새인이요 하나는 세리라
10 Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 바리새인은 서서 따로 기도하여 이르되 하나님이여 나는 다른 사람들 곧 토색, 불의, 간음을 하는 자들과 같지 아니하고 이 세리와도 같지 아니함을 감사하나이다
11 The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: `God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector.
12 나는 이레에 두 번씩 금식하고 또 소득의 십일조를 드리나이다 하고
12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.`
13 세리는 멀리 서서 감히 눈을 들어 하늘을 쳐다보지도 못하고 다만 가슴을 치며 이르되 하나님이여 불쌍히 여기소서 나는 죄인이로소이다 하였느니라
13 But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, `God, have mercy on me, a sinner.`
14 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이에 저 바리새인이 아니고 이 사람이 의롭다 하심을 받고 그의 집으로 내려갔느니라 무릇 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라 하시니라
14 I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
15 사람들이 예수께서 만져 주심을 바라고 자기 어린 아기를 데리고 오매 제자들이 보고 꾸짖거늘
15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.
16 예수께서 그 어린 아이들을 불러 가까이 하시고 이르시되 어린 아이들이 내게 오는 것을 용납하고 금하지 말라 하나님의 나라가 이런 자의 것이니라
16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 누구든지 하나님의 나라를 어린 아이와 같이 받아들이지 않는 자는 결단코 거기 들어가지 못하리라 하시니라
17 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
18 어떤 관리가 물어 이르되 선한 선생님이여 내가 무엇을 하여야 영생을 얻으리이까
18 A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
19 예수께서 이르시되 네가 어찌하여 나를 선하다 일컫느냐 하나님 한 분 외에는 선한 이가 없느니라
19 Why do you call me good? Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.
20 네가 계명을 아나니 간음하지 말라, 살인하지 말라, 도둑질하지 말라, 거짓 증언 하지 말라, 네 부모를 공경하라 하였느니라
20 You know the commandments: `Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.`"
21 여짜오되 이것은 내가 어려서부터 다 지키었나이다
21 All these I have kept since I was a boy, he said.
22 예수께서 이 말을 들으시고 이르시되 네게 아직도 한 가지 부족한 것이 있으니 네게 있는 것을 다 팔아 가난한 자들에게 나눠 주라 그리하면 하늘에서 네게 보화가 있으리라 그리고 와서 나를 따르라 하시니
22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
23 그 사람이 큰 부자이므로 이 말씀을 듣고 심히 근심하더라
23 When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth.
24 예수께서 그를 보시고 이르시되 재물이 있는 자는 하나님의 나라에 들어가기가 얼마나 어려운지
24 Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!
25 낙타가 바늘귀로 들어가는 것이 부자가 하나님의 나라에 들어가는 것보다 쉬우니라 하시니
25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
26 듣는 자들이 이르되 그런즉 누가 구원을 얻을 수 있나이까
26 Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?"
27 이르시되 무릇 사람이 할 수 없는 것을 하나님은 하실 수 있느니라
27 Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."
28 베드로가 여짜오되 보옵소서 우리가 우리의 것을 다 버리고 주를 따랐나이다
28 Peter said to him, "We have left all we had to follow you!"
29 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 하나님의 나라를 위하여 집이나 아내나 형제나 부모나 자녀를 버린 자는
29 I tell you the truth, Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God
30 현세에 여러 배를 받고 내세에 영생을 받지 못할 자가 없느니라 하시니라
30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."잠언 (Proverbs)
251 이것도 솔로몬의 잠언이요 유다 왕 히스기야의 신하들이 편집한 것이니라
1 These are more proverbs of Solomon, copied by the men of Hezekiah king of Judah:
2 일을 숨기는 것은 하나님의 영화요 일을 살피는 것은 왕의 영화니라
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.
3 하늘의 높음과 땅의 깊음 같이 왕의 마음은 헤아릴 수 없느니라
3 As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.
4 은에서 찌꺼기를 제하라 그리하면 장색의 쓸 만한 그릇이 나올 것이요
4 Remove the dross from the silver, and out comes material for the silversmith;
5 왕 앞에서 악한 자를 제하라 그리하면 그의 왕위가 의로 말미암아 견고히 서리라
5 remove the wicked from the king`s presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness.
6 왕 앞에서 스스로 높은 체하지 말며 대인들의 자리에 서지 말라
6 Do not exalt yourself in the king`s presence, and do not claim a place among great men;
7 이는 사람이 네게 이리로 올라오라고 말하는 것이 네 눈에 보이는 귀인 앞에서 저리로 내려가라고 말하는 것보다 나음이니라
7 it is better for him to say to you, "Come up here," than for him to humiliate you before a nobleman. What you have seen with your eyes
8 너는 서둘러 나가서 다투지 말라 마침내 네가 이웃에게서 욕을 보게 될 때에 네가 어찌할 줄을 알지 못할까 두려우니라
8 do not bring hastily to court, for what will you do in the end if your neighbor puts you to shame?
9 너는 이웃과 다투거든 변론만 하고 남의 은밀한 일은 누설하지 말라
9 If you argue your case with a neighbor, do not betray another man`s confidence,
10 듣는 자가 너를 꾸짖을 터이요 또 네게 대한 악평이 네게서 떠나지 아니할까 두려우니라
10 or he who hears it may shame you and you will never lose your bad reputation.
11 경우에 합당한 말은 아로새긴 은 쟁반에 금 사과니라
11 A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
12 슬기로운 자의 책망은 청종하는 귀에 금 고리와 정금 장식이니라
12 Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is a wise man`s rebuke to a listening ear.
13 충성된 사자는 그를 보낸 이에게 마치 추수하는 날에 얼음 냉수 같아서 능히 그 주인의 마음을 시원하게 하느니라
13 Like the coolness of snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the spirit of his masters.
14 선물한다고 거짓 자랑하는 자는 비 없는 구름과 바람 같으니라
14 Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give.
15 오래 참으면 관원도 설득할 수 있나니 부드러운 혀는 뼈를 꺾느니라
15 Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.
16 너는 꿀을 보거든 족하리만큼 먹으라 과식함으로 토할까 두려우니라
16 If you find honey, eat just enough-- too much of it, and you will vomit.
17 너는 이웃집에 자주 다니지 말라 그가 너를 싫어하며 미워할까 두려우니라
17 Seldom set foot in your neighbor`s house-- too much of you, and he will hate you.
18 자기의 이웃을 쳐서 거짓 증거하는 사람은 방망이요 칼이요 뾰족한 화살이니라
18 Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow is the man who gives false testimony against his neighbor.
19 환난 날에 진실하지 못한 자를 의뢰하는 것은 부러진 이와 위골된 발 같으니라
19 Like a bad tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble.
20 마음이 상한 자에게 노래하는 것은 추운 날에 옷을 벗음 같고 소다 위에 식초를 부음 같으니라
20 Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.
21 네 원수가 배고파하거든 음식을 먹이고 목말라하거든 물을 마시게 하라
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
22 그리 하는 것은 핀 숯을 그의 머리에 놓는 것과 일반이요 여호와께서 네게 갚아 주시리라
22 In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.
23 북풍이 비를 일으킴 같이 참소하는 혀는 사람의 얼굴에 분을 일으키느니라
23 As a north wind brings rain, so a sly tongue brings angry looks.
24 다투는 여인과 함께 큰 집에서 사는 것보다 움막에서 혼자 사는 것이 나으니라
24 Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.
25 먼 땅에서 오는 좋은 기별은 목마른 사람에게 냉수와 같으니라
25 Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land.
26 의인이 악인 앞에 굴복하는 것은 우물이 흐려짐과 샘이 더러워짐과 같으니라
26 Like a muddied spring or a polluted well is a righteous man who gives way to the wicked.
27 꿀을 많이 먹는 것이 좋지 못하고 자기의 영예를 구하는 것이 헛되니라
27 It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to seek one`s own honor.
28 자기의 마음을 제어하지 아니하는 자는 성읍이 무너지고 성벽이 없는 것과 같으니라
28 Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control.
