13
1 유월절 전에 예수께서 자기가 세상을 떠나 아버지께로 돌아가실 때가 이른 줄 아시고 세상에 있는 자기 사람들을 사랑하시되 끝까지 사랑하시니라
1 It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.
2 마귀가 벌써 시몬의 아들 가룟 유다의 마음에 예수를 팔려는 생각을 넣었더라
2 The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus.
3 저녁 먹는 중 예수는 아버지께서 모든 것을 자기 손에 맡기신 것과 또 자기가 하나님께로부터 오셨다가 하나님께로 돌아가실 것을 아시고
3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;
4 저녁 잡수시던 자리에서 일어나 겉옷을 벗고 수건을 가져다가 허리에 두르시고
4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.
5 이에 대야에 물을 떠서 제자들의 발을 씻으시고 그 두르신 수건으로 닦기를 시작하여
5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples` feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 시몬 베드로에게 이르시니 베드로가 이르되 주여 주께서 내 발을 씻으시나이까
6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"
7 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 내가 하는 것을 네가 지금은 알지 못하나 이 후에는 알리라
7 Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."
8 베드로가 이르되 내 발을 절대로 씻지 못하시리이다 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 너를 씻어 주지 아니하면 네가 나와 상관이 없느니라
8 No, said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."
9 시몬 베드로가 이르되 주여 내 발뿐 아니라 손과 머리도 씻어 주옵소서
9 Then, Lord, Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"
10 예수께서 이르시되 이미 목욕한 자는 발밖에 씻을 필요가 없느니라 온 몸이 깨끗하니라 너희가 깨끗하나 다는 아니니라 하시니
10 Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you."
11 이는 자기를 팔 자가 누구인지 아심이라 그러므로 다는 깨끗하지 아니하다 하시니라
11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12 그들의 발을 씻으신 후에 옷을 입으시고 다시 앉아 그들에게 이르시되 내가 너희에게 행한 것을 너희가 아느냐
12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them.
13 너희가 나를 선생이라 또는 주라 하니 너희 말이 옳도다 내가 그러하다
13 You call me `Teacher` and `Lord,` and rightly so, for that is what I am.
14 내가 주와 또는 선생이 되어 너희 발을 씻었으니 너희도 서로 발을 씻어 주는 것이 옳으니라
14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another`s feet.
15 내가 너희에게 행한 것 같이 너희도 행하게 하려 하여 본을 보였노라
15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
16 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 종이 주인보다 크지 못하고 보냄을 받은 자가 보낸 자보다 크지 못하나니
16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17 너희가 이것을 알고 행하면 복이 있으리라
17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
18 내가 너희 모두를 가리켜 말하는 것이 아니니라 나는 내가 택한 자들이 누구인지 앎이라 그러나 내 떡을 먹는 자가 내게 발꿈치를 들었다 한 성경을 응하게 하려는 것이니라
18 I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture: `He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.`
19 지금부터 일이 일어나기 전에 미리 너희에게 일러 둠은 일이 일어날 때에 내가 그인 줄 너희가 믿게 하려 함이로라
19 I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He.
20 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 내가 보낸 자를 영접하는 자는 나를 영접하는 것이요 나를 영접하는 자는 나를 보내신 이를 영접하는 것이니라
20 I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me."
21 예수께서 이 말씀을 하시고 심령이 괴로워 증언하여 이르시되 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희 중 하나가 나를 팔리라 하시니
21 After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me."
22 제자들이 서로 보며 누구에게 대하여 말씀하시는지 의심하더라
22 His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant.
23 예수의 제자 중 하나 곧 그가 사랑하시는 자가 예수의 품에 의지하여 누웠는지라
23 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him.
24 시몬 베드로가 머릿짓을 하여 말하되 말씀하신 자가 누구인지 말하라 하니
24 Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means."
25 그가 예수의 가슴에 그대로 의지하여 말하되 주여 누구니이까
25 Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?"
26 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 떡 한 조각을 적셔다 주는 자가 그니라 하시고 곧 한 조각을 적셔서 가룟 시몬의 아들 유다에게 주시니
26 Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon.
27 조각을 받은 후 곧 사탄이 그 속에 들어간지라 이에 예수께서 유다에게 이르시되 네가 하는 일을 속히 하라 하시니
27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. "What you are about to do, do quickly," Jesus told him,
28 이 말씀을 무슨 뜻으로 하셨는지 그 앉은 자 중에 아는 자가 없고
28 but no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him.
29 어떤 이들은 유다가 돈궤를 맡았으므로 명절에 우리가 쓸 물건을 사라 하시는지 혹은 가난한 자들에게 무엇을 주라 하시는 줄로 생각하더라
29 Since Judas had charge of the money, some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the Feast, or to give something to the poor.
30 유다가 그 조각을 받고 곧 나가니 밤이러라
30 As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night.
31 그가 나간 후에 예수께서 이르시되 지금 인자가 영광을 받았고 하나님도 인자로 말미암아 영광을 받으셨도다
31 When he was gone, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him.
32 만일 하나님이 그로 말미암아 영광을 받으셨으면 하나님도 자기로 말미암아 그에게 영광을 주시리니 곧 주시리라
32 If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.
33 작은 자들아 내가 아직 잠시 너희와 함께 있겠노라 너희가 나를 찾을 것이나 일찍이 내가 유대인들에게 너희는 내가 가는 곳에 올 수 없다고 말한 것과 같이 지금 너희에게도 이르노라
33 My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
34 새 계명을 너희에게 주노니 서로 사랑하라 내가 너희를 사랑한 것 같이 너희도 서로 사랑하라
34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
35 너희가 서로 사랑하면 이로써 모든 사람이 너희가 내 제자인 줄 알리라
35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
36 시몬 베드로가 이르되 주여 어디로 가시나이까 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 가는 곳에 네가 지금은 따라올 수 없으나 후에는 따라오리라
36 Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later."
37 베드로가 이르되 주여 내가 지금은 어찌하여 따라갈 수 없나이까 주를 위하여 내 목숨을 버리겠나이다
37 Peter asked, "Lord, why can`t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."
38 예수께서 대답하시되 네가 나를 위하여 네 목숨을 버리겠느냐 내가 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 닭 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 부인하리라
38 Then Jesus answered, "Will you really lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!시편 (Psalms)
141 어리석은 자는 그의 마음에 이르기를 하나님이 없다 하는도다 그들은 부패하고 그 행실이 가증하니 선을 행하는 자가 없도다
1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
2 여호와께서 하늘에서 인생을 굽어살피사 지각이 있어 하나님을 찾는 자가 있는가 보려 하신즉
2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
3 다 치우쳐 함께 더러운 자가 되고 선을 행하는 자가 없으니 하나도 없도다
3 All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
4 죄악을 행하는 자는 다 무지하냐 그들이 떡 먹듯이 내 백성을 먹으면서 여호와를 부르지 아니하는도다
4 Will evildoers never learn-- those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD ?
5 그러나 거기서 그들은 두려워하고 두려워하였으니 하나님이 의인의 세대에 계심이로다
5 There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous.
6 너희가 가난한 자의 계획을 부끄럽게 하나 오직 여호와는 그의 피난처가 되시도다
6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge.
7 이스라엘의 구원이 시온에서 나오기를 원하도다 여호와께서 그의 백성을 포로된 곳에서 돌이키실 때에 야곱이 즐거워하고 이스라엘이 기뻐하리로다
7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
