18:1-19:20
1 이 후에 바울이 아덴을 떠나 고린도에 이르러
1 After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.
2 아굴라라 하는 본도에서 난 유대인 하나를 만나니 글라우디오가 모든 유대인을 명하여 로마에서 떠나라 한고로 그가 그 아내 브리스길라와 함께 이달리야로부터 새로 온지라 바울이 그들에게 가매
2 There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to see them,
3 업이 같으므로 함께 거하여 일을 하니 그 업은 장막을 만드는 것이더라
3 and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them.
4 안식일마다 바울이 회당에서 강론하고 유대인과 헬라인을 권면하니라
4 Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.
5 실라와 디모데가 마게도냐로서 내려오매 바울이 하나님의 말씀에 붙잡혀 유대인들에게 예수는 그리스도라 밝히 증거하니
5 When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.
6 저희가 대적하여 훼방하거늘 바울이 옷을 떨어 가로되 너희 피가 너희 머리로 돌아갈 것이요 나는 깨끗하니라 이 후에는 이방인에게로 가리라 하고
6 But when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am clear of my responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."
7 거기서 옮겨 하나님을 공경하는 디도 유스도라 하는 사람의 집에 들어가니 그 집이 회당 옆이라
7 Then Paul left the synagogue and went next door to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God.
8 또 회당장 그리스보가 온 집으로 더불어 주를 믿으며 수다한 고린도 사람도 듣고 믿어 세례를 받더라
8 Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized.
9 밤에 주께서 환상 가운데 바울에게 말씀하시되 두려워하지 말며 잠잠하지 말고 말하라
9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.
10 내가 너와 함께 있으매 아무 사람도 너를 대적하여 해롭게 할 자가 없을 것이니 이는 이 성중에 내 백성이 많음이라 하시더라
10 For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city."
11 일년 육개월을 유하며 그들 가운데서 하나님의 말씀을 가르치니라
11 So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.
12 갈리오가 아가야 총독 되었을 때에 유대인이 일제히 일어나 바울을 대적하여 재판 자리로 데리고 와서
12 While Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him into court.
13 말하되 이 사람이 율법을 어기어 하나님을 공경하라고 사람들을 권한다 하거늘
13 This man, they charged, "is persuading the people to worship God in ways contrary to the law."
14 바울이 입을 열고자 할 때에 갈리오가 유대인들에게 이르되 너희 유대인들아 만일 무슨 부정한 일이나 괴악한 행동이었으면 내가 너희 말을 들어주는 것이 가하거니와
14 Just as Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to the Jews, "If you Jews were making a complaint about some misdemeanor or serious crime, it would be reasonable for me to listen to you.
15 만일 문제가 언어와 명칭과 너희 법에 관한 것이면 너희가 스스로 처리하라 나는 이러한 일에 재판장 되기를 원치 아니하노라 하고
15 But since it involves questions about words and names and your own law--settle the matter yourselves. I will not be a judge of such things."
16 저희를 재판 자리에서 쫓아내니
16 So he had them ejected from the court.
17 모든 사람이 회당장 소스데네를 잡아 재판 자리 앞에서 때리되 갈리오가 이 일을 상관치 아니하니라
17 Then they all turned on Sosthenes the synagogue ruler and beat him in front of the court. But Gallio showed no concern whatever.
18 바울은 더 여러 날 유하다가 형제들을 작별하고 배 타고 수리아로 떠나갈쌔 브리스길라와 아굴라도 함께 하더라 바울이 일찍 서원이 있으므로 겐그레아에서 머리를 깎았더라
18 Paul stayed on in Corinth for some time. Then he left the brothers and sailed for Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila. Before he sailed, he had his hair cut off at Cenchrea because of a vow he had taken.
19 에베소에 와서 저희를 거기 머물러 두고 자기는 회당에 들어가서 유대인들과 변론하니
19 They arrived at Ephesus, where Paul left Priscilla and Aquila. He himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.
20 여러 사람이 더 오래 있기를 청하되 허락지 아니하고
20 When they asked him to spend more time with them, he declined.
21 작별하여 가로되 만일 하나님의 뜻이면 너희에게 돌아오리라 하고 배를 타고 에베소를 떠나
21 But as he left, he promised, "I will come back if it is God`s will." Then he set sail from Ephesus.
22 가이사랴에서 상륙하여 올라가 교회의 안부를 물은 후에 안디옥으로 내려가서
22 When he landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church and then went down to Antioch.
23 얼마 있다가 떠나 갈라디아와 브루기아 땅을 차례로 다니며 모든 제자를 굳게 하니라
23 After spending some time in Antioch, Paul set out from there and traveled from place to place throughout the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.
24 알렉산드리아에서 난 아볼로라 하는 유대인이 에베소에 이르니 이 사람은 학문이 많고 성경에 능한 자라
24 Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures.
25 그가 일찍 주의 도를 배워 열심으로 예수에 관한 것을 자세히 말하며 가르치나 요한의 세례만 알 따름이라
25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John.
26 그가 회당에서 담대히 말하기를 시작하거늘 브리스길라와 아굴라가 듣고 데려다가 하나님의 도를 더 자세히 풀어 이르더라
26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.
27 아볼로가 아가야로 건너가고자 하니 형제들이 저를 장려하며 제자들에게 편지하여 영접하라 하였더니 저가 가매 은혜로 말미암아 믿은 자들에게 많은 유익을 주니
27 When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.
28 이는 성경으로써 예수는 그리스도라고 증거하여 공중 앞에서 유력하게 유대인의 말을 이김일러라
28 For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.
19장
1 아볼로가 고린도에 있을 때에 바울이 윗 지방으로 다녀 에베소에 와서 어떤 제자들을 만나
1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples
2 가로되 너희가 믿을 때에 성령을 받았느냐 가로되 아니라 우리는 성령이 있음도 듣지 못하였노라
2 and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."
3 바울이 가로되 그러면 너희가 무슨 세례를 받았느냐 대답하되 요한의 세례로라
3 So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John`s baptism," they replied.
4 바울이 가로되 요한이 회개의 세례를 베풀며 백성에게 말하되 내 뒤에 오시는 이를 믿으라 하였으니 이는 곧 예수라 하거늘
4 Paul said, "John`s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."
5 저희가 듣고 주 예수의 이름으로 세례를 받으니
5 On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 바울이 그들에게 안수하매 성령이 그들에게 임하시므로 방언도 하고 예언도 하니
6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
7 모두 열 두 사람쯤 되니라
7 There were about twelve men in all.
8 바울이 회당에 들어가 석 달 동안을 담대히 하나님 나라에 대하여 강론하며 권면하되
8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.
9 어떤 사람들은 마음이 굳어 순종치 않고 무리 앞에서 이 도를 비방하거늘 바울이 그들을 떠나 제자들을 따로 세우고 두란노 서원에서 날마다 강론하여
9 But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.
10 이같이 두 해 동안을 하매 아시아에 사는 자는 유대인이나 헬라인이나 다 주의 말씀을 듣더라
10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.
11 하나님이 바울의 손으로 희한한 능을 행하게 하시니
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul,
12 심지어 사람들이 바울의 몸에서 손수건이나 앞치마를 가져다가 병든 사람에게 얹으면 그 병이 떠나고 악귀도 나가더라
12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
13 이에 돌아다니며 마술하는 어떤 유대인들이 시험적으로 악귀 들린 자들에게 대하여 주 예수의 이름을 불러 말하되 내가 바울의 전파하는 예수를 빙자하여 너희를 명하노라 하더라
13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out."
14 유대의 한 제사장 스게와의 일곱 아들도 이 일을 행하더니
14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.
15 악귀가 대답하여 가로되 예수도 내가 알고 바울도 내가 알거니와 너희는 누구냐 하며
15 (One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"
16 악귀 들린 사람이 그 두 사람에게 뛰어올라 억제하여 이기니 저희가 상하여 벗은 몸으로 그 집에서 도망하는지라
16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.
17 에베소에 거하는 유대인과 헬라인들이 다 이 일을 알고 두려워하며 주 예수의 이름을 높이고
17 When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.
18 믿은 사람들이 많이 와서 자복하여 행한 일을 고하며
18 Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds.
19 또 마술을 행하던 많은 사람이 그 책을 모아 가지고 와서 모든 사람 앞에서 불사르니 그 책 값을 계산한즉 은 오만이나 되더라
19 A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.
20 이와 같이 주의 말씀이 힘이 있어 흥왕하여 세력을 얻으니라
20 In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.시편 (Psalms)
351 여호와여 나와 다투는 자와 다투시고 나와 싸우는 자와 싸우소서
1 Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.
2 방패와 손 방패를 잡으시고 일어나 나를 도우소서
2 Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid.
3 창을 빼사 나를 쫓는 자의 길을 막으시고 또 내 영혼에게 나는 네 구원이라 이르소서
3 Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, "I am your salvation."
4 내 생명을 찾는 자로 부끄러워 수치를 당케 하시며 나를 상해하려 하는 자로 물러가 낭패케 하소서
4 May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.
5 저희로 바람 앞에 겨와 같게 하시고 여호와의 사자로 몰아내소서
5 May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away;
6 저희 길을 어둡고 미끄럽게 하시고 여호와의 사자로 저희를 따르게 하소서
6 may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.
7 저희가 무고히 나를 잡으려고 그 그물을 웅덩이에 숨기며 무고히 내 생명을 해하려고 함정을 팠사오니
7 Since they hid their net for me without cause and without cause dug a pit for me,
8 멸망으로 졸지에 저에게 임하게 하시며 그 숨긴 그물에 스스로 잡히게 하시며 멸망 중에 떨어지게 하소서
8 may ruin overtake them by surprise-- may the net they hid entangle them, may they fall into the pit, to their ruin.
9 내 영혼이 여호와를 즐거워함이여 그 구원을 기뻐하리로다
9 Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation.
10 내 모든 뼈가 이르기를 여호와와 같은 자 누구리요 그는 가난한 자를 그보다 강한 자에게서 건지시고 가난하고 궁핍한 자를 노략하는 자에게서 건지시는 이라 하리로다
10 My whole being will exclaim, "Who is like you, O LORD ? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them."
11 불의한 증인이 일어나서 내가 알지 못하는 일로 내게 힐문하며
11 Ruthless witnesses come forward; they question me on things I know nothing about.
12 내게 선을 악으로 갚아 나의 영혼을 외롭게 하나
12 They repay me evil for good and leave my soul forlorn.
13 나는 저희가 병 들었을 때에 굵은 베옷을 입으며 금식하여 내 영혼을 괴롭게 하였더니 내 기도가 내 품으로 돌아왔도다
13 Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. When my prayers returned to me unanswered,
14 내가 나의 친구와 형제에게 행함 같이 저희에게 행하였으며 내가 굽히고 슬퍼하기를 모친을 곡함 같이 하였도다
14 I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.
15 오직 내가 환난을 당하매 저희가 기뻐하여 서로 모임이여 비류가 나의 알지 못하는 중에 모여 나를 치며 찢기를 마지 아니하도다
15 But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; attackers gathered against me when I was unaware. They slandered me without ceasing.
16 저희는 연회에서 망령되이 조롱하는 자 같이 나를 향하여 그 이를 갈도다
16 Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked ; they gnashed their teeth at me.
17 주여 어느 때까지 관망하시리이까 내 영혼을 저 멸망자에게서 구원하시며 내 유일한 것을 사자들에게서 건지소서
17 O Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.
18 내가 대회 중에서 주께 감사하며 많은 백성 중에서 주를 찬송하리이다
18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you.
19 무리하게 나의 원수된 자로 나를 인하여 기뻐하지 못하게 하시며 무고히 나를 미워하는 자로 눈짓하지 못하게 하소서
19 Let not those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; let not those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.
20 대저 저희는 화평을 말하지 아니하고 평안히 땅에 거하는 자를 거짓말로 모해하며
20 They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.
21 또 저희가 나를 향하여 입을 크게 벌리고 하하 우리가 목도하였다 하나이다
21 They gape at me and say, "Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we have seen it."
22 여호와여 주께서 이를 보셨사오니 잠잠하지 마옵소서 주여 나를 멀리하지 마옵소서
22 O LORD, you have seen this; be not silent. Do not be far from me, O Lord.
23 나의 하나님, 나의 주여 떨치고 깨셔서 나를 공판하시며 나의 송사를 다스리소서
23 Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord.
24 여호와 나의 하나님이여 주의 공의대로 나를 판단하사 저희로 나를 인하여 기뻐하지 못하게 하소서
24 Vindicate me in your righteousness, O LORD my God; do not let them gloat over me.
25 저희로 그 마음에 이르기를 아하 소원 성취하였다 하지 못하게 하시며 우리가 저를 삼켰다 하지 못하게 하소서
25 Do not let them think, "Aha, just what we wanted!" or say, "We have swallowed him up."
26 나의 해를 기뻐하는 자들로 부끄러워 낭패하게 하시며 나를 향하여 자긍하는 자로 수치와 욕을 당케 하소서
26 May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.
27 나의 의를 즐거워하는 자로 기꺼이 부르고 즐겁게 하시며 그 종의 형통을 기뻐하시는 여호와는 광대하시다 하는 말을 저희로 항상 하게하소서
27 May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, "The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant."
28 나의 혀가 주의 의를 말하며 종일토록 주를 찬송하리이다
28 My tongue will speak of your righteousness and of your praises all day long.
