21:1-22:29
1 우리가 저희를 작별하고 행선하여 바로 고스로 가서 이튿날 로도에 이르러 거기서부터 바다라로 가서
1 After we had torn ourselves away from them, we put out to sea and sailed straight to Cos. The next day we went to Rhodes and from there to Patara.
2 베니게로 건너가는 배를 만나서 타고 가다가
2 We found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, went on board and set sail.
3 구브로를 바라보고 이를 왼편에 두고 수리아로 행선하여 두로에서 상륙하니 거기서 배가 짐을 풀려 함이러라
3 After sighting Cyprus and passing to the south of it, we sailed on to Syria. We landed at Tyre, where our ship was to unload its cargo.
4 제자들을 찾아 거기서 이레를 머물더니 그 제자들이 성령의 감동으로 바울더러 예루살렘에 들어가지 말라 하더라
4 Finding the disciples there, we stayed with them seven days. Through the Spirit they urged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.
5 이 여러 날을 지난 후 우리가 떠나갈쌔 저희가 다 그 처자와 함께 성문 밖까지 전송하거늘 우리가 바닷가에서 무릎을 꿇어 기도하고
5 But when our time was up, we left and continued on our way. All the disciples and their wives and children accompanied us out of the city, and there on the beach we knelt to pray.
6 서로 작별한 후 우리는 배에 오르고 저희는 집으로 돌아가니라
6 After saying good-by to each other, we went aboard the ship, and they returned home.
7 두로로부터 수로를 다 행하여 돌레마이에 이르러 형제들에게 안부를 묻고 그들과 함께 하루를 있다가
7 We continued our voyage from Tyre and landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and stayed with them for a day.
8 이튿날 떠나 가이사랴에 이르러 일곱 집사 중 하나인 전도자 빌립의 집에 들어가서 유하니라
8 Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven.
9 그에게 딸 넷이 있으니 처녀로 예언하는 자라
9 He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.
10 여러 날 있더니 한 선지자 아가보라 하는 이가 유대로부터 내려와
10 After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
11 우리에게 와서 바울의 띠를 가져다가 자기 수족을 잡아매고 말하기를 성령이 말씀하시되 예루살렘에서 유대인들이 이같이 이 띠 임자를 결박하여 이방인의 손에 넘겨주리라 하거늘
11 Coming over to us, he took Paul`s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, "The Holy Spirit says, `In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.` "
12 우리가 그 말을 듣고 그곳 사람들로 더불어 바울에게 예루살렘으로 올라가지 말라 권하니
12 When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 바울이 대답하되 너희가 어찌하여 울어 내 마음을 상하게 하느냐 나는 주 예수의 이름을 위하여 결박 받을 뿐아니라 예루살렘에서 죽을 것도 각오하였노라 하니
13 Then Paul answered, "Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."
14 저가 권함을 받지 아니하므로 우리가 주의 뜻대로 이루어지이다 하고 그쳤노라
14 When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, "The Lord`s will be done."
15 이 여러 날 후에 행장을 준비하여 예루살렘으로 올라갈쌔
15 After this, we got ready and went up to Jerusalem.
16 가이사랴의 몇 제자가 함께 가며 한 오랜 제자 구브로 사람 나손을 데리고 가니 이는 우리가 그의 집에 유하려 함이라
16 Some of the disciples from Caesarea accompanied us and brought us to the home of Mnason, where we were to stay. He was a man from Cyprus and one of the early disciples.
17 예루살렘에 이르니 형제들이 우리를 기꺼이 영접하거늘
17 When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers received us warmly.
18 그 이튿날 바울이 우리와 함께 야고보에게로 들어가니 장로들도 다 있더라
18 The next day Paul and the rest of us went to see James, and all the elders were present.
19 바울이 문안하고 하나님이 자기의 봉사로 말미암아 이방 가운데서 하신 일을 낱낱이 고하니
19 Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
20 저희가 듣고 하나님께 영광을 돌리고 바울더러 이르되 형제여 그대도 보는바에 유대인 중에 믿는 자 수만명이 있으니 다 율법에 열심 있는 자라
20 When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: "You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law.
21 네가 이방에 있는 모든 유대인을 가르치되 모세를 배반하고 아들들에게 할례를 하지 말고 또 규모를 지키지 말라 한다 함을 저희가 들었도다
21 They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.
22 그러면 어찌할꼬 저희가 필연 그대의 온 것을 들으리니
22 What shall we do? They will certainly hear that you have come,
23 우리의 말하는 이대로 하라 서원한 네 사람이 우리에게 있으니
23 so do what we tell you. There are four men with us who have made a vow.
24 저희를 데리고 함께 결례를 행하고 저희를 위하여 비용을 내어 머리를 깎게 하라 그러면 모든 사람이 그대에게 대하여 들은 것이 헛된 것이고 그대도 율법을 지켜 행하는 줄로 알 것이라
24 Take these men, join in their purification rites and pay their expenses, so that they can have their heads shaved. Then everybody will know there is no truth in these reports about you, but that you yourself are living in obedience to the law.
25 주를 믿는 이방인에게는 우리가 우상의 제물과 피와 목매어 죽인 것과 음행을 피할 것을 결의하고 편지하였느니라 하니
25 As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they should abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality."
26 바울이 이 사람들을 데리고 이튿날 저희와 함께 결례를 행하고 성전에 들어가서 각 사람을 위하여 제사 드릴 때까지의 결례의 만기 된것을 고하니라
26 The next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them. Then he went to the temple to give notice of the date when the days of purification would end and the offering would be made for each of them.
27 그 이레가 거의 차매 아시아로부터 온 유대인들이 성전에서 바울을 보고 모든 무리를 충동하여 그를 붙들고
27 When the seven days were nearly over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,
28 외치되 이스라엘 사람들아 도우라 이 사람은 각처에서 우리 백성과 율법과 이곳을 훼방하여 모든 사람을 가르치는 그 자인데 또 헬라인을 데리고 성전에 들어가서 이 거룩한 곳을 더럽게 하였다 하니
28 shouting, "Men of Israel, help us! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against our people and our law and this place. And besides, he has brought Greeks into the temple area and defiled this holy place."
29 이는 저희가 전에 에베소 사람 드로비모가 바울과 함께 성내에 있음을 보고 바울이 저를 성전에 데리고 들어간 줄로 생각함일러라
29 (They had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with Paul and assumed that Paul had brought him into the temple area.)
30 온 성이 소동하여 백성이 달려와 모여 바울을 잡아 성전 밖으로 끌고 나가니 문들이 곧 닫히더라
30 The whole city was aroused, and the people came running from all directions. Seizing Paul, they dragged him from the temple, and immediately the gates were shut.
31 저희가 그를 죽이려 할 때에 온 예루살렘의 요란하다는 소문이 군대의 천부장에게 들리매
31 While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar.
32 저가 급히 군사들과 백부장들을 거느리고 달려 내려가니 저희가 천부장과 군사들을 보고 바울 치기를 그치는지라
32 He at once took some officers and soldiers and ran down to the crowd. When the rioters saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
33 이에 천부장이 가까이 가서 바울을 잡아 두 쇠사슬로 결박하라 명하고 누구며 무슨 일을 하였느냐 물으니
33 The commander came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.
34 무리 가운데서 어떤이는 이 말로, 어떤이는 저 말로 부르짖거늘 천부장이 소동을 인하여 그 실상을 알 수 없어 그를 영문 안으로 데려가라 명하니라
34 Some in the crowd shouted one thing and some another, and since the commander could not get at the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be taken into the barracks.
35 바울이 층대에 이를 때에 무리의 포행을 인하여 군사들에게 들려가니
35 When Paul reached the steps, the violence of the mob was so great he had to be carried by the soldiers.
36 이는 백성의 무리가 그를 없이 하자고 외치며 따라 감이러라
36 The crowd that followed kept shouting, "Away with him!"
37 바울을 데리고 영문으로 들어가려 할 그 때에 바울이 천부장더러 이르되 내가 당신에게 말할 수 있느뇨 가로되 네가 헬라 말을 아느냐
37 As the soldiers were about to take Paul into the barracks, he asked the commander, "May I say something to you?" "Do you speak Greek?" he replied.
38 그러면 네가 이전에 난을 일으켜 사천의 자객을 거느리고 광야로 가던 애굽인이 아니냐
38 Aren`t you the Egyptian who started a revolt and led four thousand terrorists out into the desert some time ago?
39 바울이 가로되 나는 유대인이라 소읍이 아닌 길리기아 다소성의 시민이니 청컨대 백성에게 말하기를 허락하라 하니
39 Paul answered, "I am a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no ordinary city. Please let me speak to the people."
40 천부장이 허락하거늘 바울이 층대 위에 서서 백성에게 손짓하여 크게 종용히 한 후에 히브리 방언으로 말하여 가로되
40 Having received the commander`s permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned to the crowd. When they were all silent, he said to them in Aramaic:

1 부형들아 내가 지금 너희 앞에서 변명하는 말을 들으라 하더라
1 Brothers and fathers, listen now to my defense.
2 저희가 그 히브리 방언으로 말함을 듣고 더욱 종용한지라 이어 가로되
2 When they heard him speak to them in Aramaic, they became very quiet. Then Paul said:
3 나는 유대인으로 길리기아 다소에서 났고 이 성에서 자라 가말리엘의 문하에서 우리 조상들의 율법의 엄한 교훈을 받았고 오늘 너희 모든 사람처럼 하나님께 대하여 열심하는 자라
3 I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. Under Gamaliel I was thoroughly trained in the law of our fathers and was just as zealous for God as any of you are today.
4 내가 이 도를 핍박하여 사람을 죽이기까지 하고 남녀를 결박하여 옥에 넘겼노니
4 I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison,
5 이에 대제사장과 모든 장로들이 내 증인이라 또 내가 저희에게서 다메섹 형제들에게 가는 공문을 받아 가지고 거기 있는 자들도 결박하여 예루살렘으로 끌어다가 형벌 받게 하려고 가더니
5 as also the high priest and all the Council can testify. I even obtained letters from them to their brothers in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished.
6 가는데 다메섹에 가까왔을 때에 오정쯤 되어 홀연히 하늘로서 큰 빛이 나를 둘러 비취매
6 About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me.
7 내가 땅에 엎드러져 들으니 소리 있어 가로되 사울아 사울아 네가 왜 나를 핍박하느냐 하시거늘
7 I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, `Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?`
8 내가 대답하되 주여 뉘시니이까 하니 가라사대 나는 네가 핍박하는 나사렛 예수라 하시더라
8 `Who are you, Lord?` I asked. `I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,` he replied.
9 나와 함께 있는 사람들이 빛은 보면서도 나더러 말하시는 이의 소리는 듣지 못하더라
9 My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me.
10 내가 가로되 주여 무엇을 하리이까 주께서 가라사대 일어나 다메섹으로 들어가라 정한바 너의 모든 행할 것을 거기서 누가 이르리라 하시거늘
10 `What shall I do, Lord?` I asked. `Get up,` the Lord said, `and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.`
11 나는 그 빛의 광채를 인하여 볼 수 없게 되었으므로 나와 함께 있는 사람들의 손에 끌려 다메섹에 들어갔노라
11 My companions led me by the hand into Damascus, because the brilliance of the light had blinded me.
12 율법에 의하면 경건한 사람으로 거기 사는 모든 유대인들에게 칭찬을 듣는 아나니아라 하는 이가
12 A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there.
13 내게 와 곁에 서서 말하되 형제 사울아 다시 보라 하거늘 즉시 그를 쳐다보았노라
13 He stood beside me and said, `Brother Saul, receive your sight!` And at that very moment I was able to see him.
14 그가 또 가로되 우리 조상들의 하나님이 너를 택하여 너로 하여금 자기 뜻을 알게 하시며 저 의인을 보게 하시고 그 입에서 나오는 음성을 듣게 하셨으니
14 Then he said: `The God of our fathers has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth.
15 네가 그를 위하여 모든 사람 앞에서 너의 보고 들은 것에 증인이 되리라
15 You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.
16 이제는 왜 주저하느뇨 일어나 주의 이름을 불러 세례를 받고 너의 죄를 씻으라 하더라
16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.`
17 후에 내가 예루살렘으로 돌아와서 성전에서 기도할 때에 비몽사몽간에
17 When I returned to Jerusalem and was praying at the temple, I fell into a trance
18 보매 주께서 내게 말씀하시되 속히 예루살렘에서 나가라 저희는 네가 내게 대하여 증거하는 말을 듣지 아니하리라 하시거늘
18 and saw the Lord speaking. `Quick!` he said to me. `Leave Jerusalem immediately, because they will not accept your testimony about me.`
19 내가 말하기를 주여 내가 주 믿는 사람들을 가두고 또 각 회당에서 때리고
19 `Lord,` I replied, `these men know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you.
20 또 주의 증인 스데반의 피를 흘릴 적에 내가 곁에 서서 찬성하고 그 죽이는 사람들의 옷을 지킨줄 저희도 아나이다
20 And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.`
21 나더러 또 이르시되 떠나가라 내가 너를 멀리 이방인에게로 보내리라 하셨느니라
21 Then the Lord said to me, `Go; I will send you far away to the Gentiles.`
22 이 말 하는 것까지 저희가 듣다가 소리질러 가로되 이러한 놈은 세상에서 없이 하자 살려 둘 자가 아니라 하여
22 The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted, "Rid the earth of him! He`s not fit to live!"
23 떠들며 옷을 벗어 던지고 티끌을 공중에 날리니
23 As they were shouting and throwing off their cloaks and flinging dust into the air,
24 천부장이 바울을 영문 안으로 데려가라 명하고 저희가 무슨 일로 그를 대하여 떠드나 알고자 하여 채찍질하며 신문하라 한대
24 the commander ordered Paul to be taken into the barracks. He directed that he be flogged and questioned in order to find out why the people were shouting at him like this.
25 가죽줄로 바울을 매니 바울이 곁에 섰는 백부장더러 이르되 너희가 로마 사람 된 자를 죄도 정치 아니하고 채찍질할 수 있느냐 하니
25 As they stretched him out to flog him, Paul said to the centurion standing there, "Is it legal for you to flog a Roman citizen who hasn`t even been found guilty?"
26 백부장이 듣고 가서 천부장에게 전하여 가로되 어찌하려 하느뇨 이는 로마 사람이라 하니
26 When the centurion heard this, he went to the commander and reported it. "What are you going to do?" he asked. "This man is a Roman citizen."
27 천부장이 와서 바울에게 말하되 네가 로마사람이냐 내게 말하라 가로되 그러하다
27 The commander went to Paul and asked, "Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?" "Yes, I am," he answered.
28 천부장이 대답하되 나는 돈을 많이 들여 이 시민권을 얻었노라 바울이 가로되 나는 나면서부터로라 하니
28 Then the commander said, "I had to pay a big price for my citizenship." "But I was born a citizen," Paul replied.
29 신문하려던 사람들이 곧 그에게서 물러가고 천부장도 그가 로마 사람인줄 알고 또는 그 결박한 것을 인하여 두려워하니라
29 Those who were about to question him withdrew immediately. The commander himself was alarmed when he realized that he had put Paul, a Roman citizen, in chains.시편 (Psalms)
371 행악자를 인하여 불평하여 하지 말며 불의를 행하는 자를 투기하지 말지어다
1 Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 저희는 풀과 같이 속히 베임을 볼 것이며 푸른 채소 같이 쇠잔할 것임이로다
2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
3 여호와를 의뢰하여 선을 행하라 땅에 거하여 그의 성실로 식물을 삼을지어다
3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 또 여호와를 기뻐하라 저가 네 마음의 소원을 이루어 주시리로다
4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 너의 길을 여호와께 맡기라 저를 의지하면 저가 이루시고
5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
6 네 의를 빛같이 나타내시며 네 공의를 정오의 빛같이 하시리로다
6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
7 여호와 앞에 잠잠하고 참아 기다리라 자기 길이 형통하며 악한 꾀를 이루는 자를 인하여 불평하여 말지어다
7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
8 분을 그치고 노를 버리라 불평하여 말라 행악에 치우칠 뿐이라
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil.
9 대저 행악하는 자는 끊어질 것이나 여호와를 기대하는 자는 땅을 차지하리로다
9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
10 잠시 후에 악인이 없어지리니 네가 그곳을 자세히 살필지라도 없으리로다
10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 오직 온유한 자는 땅을 차지하며 풍부한 화평으로 즐기리로다
11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.
12 악인이 의인 치기를 꾀하고 향하여 그 이를 가는도다
12 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;
13 주께서 저를 웃으시리니 그 날의 이름을 보심이로다
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.
14 악인이 칼을 빼고 활을 당기어 가난하고 궁핍한 자를 엎드러뜨리며 행위가 정직한 자를 죽이고자 하나
14 The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.
15 그 칼은 자기의 마음을 찌르고 그 활은 부러지리로다
15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.
16 의인의 적은 소유가 많은 악인의 풍부함보다 승하도다
16 Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked;
17 악인의 팔은 부러지나 의인은 여호와께서 붙드시는도다
17 for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.
18 여호와께서 완전한 자의 날을 아시니 저희 기업은 영원하리로다
18 The days of the blameless are known to the LORD, and their inheritance will endure forever.
19 저희는 환난 때에 부끄럽지 아니하며 기근의 날에도 풍족하려니와
19 In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.
20 악인은 멸망하고 여호와의 원수는 어린 양의 기름 같이 타서 연기 되어 없어지리로다
20 But the wicked will perish: The LORD`s enemies will be like the beauty of the fields, they will vanish--vanish like smoke.
21 악인은 꾸고 갚지 아니하나 의인은 은혜를 베풀고 주는도다
21 The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;
22 주의 복을 받은 자는 땅을 차지하고 주의 저주를 받은 자는 끊어지리로다
22 those the LORD blesses will inherit the land, but those he curses will be cut off.
23 여호와께서 사람의 걸음을 정하시고 그 길을 기뻐하시나니
23 If the LORD delights in a man`s way, he makes his steps firm;
24 저는 넘어지나 아주 엎드러지지 아니함은 여호와께서 손으로 붙드심이로다
24 though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
25 내가 어려서부터 늙기까지 의인이 버림을 당하거나 그 자손이 걸식함을 보지 못하였도다
25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
26 저는 종일토록 은혜를 베풀고 꾸어주니 그 자손이 복을 받는도다
26 They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed.
27 악에서 떠나 선을 행하라 그리하면 영영히 거하리니
27 Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever.
28 여호와께서 공의를 사랑하시고 그 성도를 버리지 아니하심이로다 저희는 영영히 보호를 받으나 악인의 자손은 끊어지리로다
28 For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;
29 의인이 땅을 차지함이여 거기 영영히 거하리로다
29 the righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.
30 의인의 입은 지혜를 말하고 그 혀는 공의를 이르며
30 The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.
31 그 마음에는 하나님의 법이 있으니 그 걸음에 실족함이 없으리로다
31 The law of his God is in his heart; his feet do not slip.
32 악인이 의인을 엿보아 살해할 기회를 찾으나
32 The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, seeking their very lives;
33 여호와는 저를 그 손에 버려두지 아니하시고 재판 때에도 정죄치 아니하시리로다
33 but the LORD will not leave them in their power or let them be condemned when brought to trial.
34 여호와를 바라고 그 도를 지키라 그리하면 너를 들어 땅을 차지하게 하실 것이라 악인이 끊어질 때에 네가 목도하리로다
34 Wait for the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
35 내가 악인의 큰 세력을 본즉 그 본토에 선 푸른 나무의 무성함 같으나
35 I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a green tree in its native soil,
36 사람이 지날 때에 저가 없어졌으니 내가 찾아도 발견치 못하였도다
36 but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found.
37 완전한 사람을 살피고 정직한 자를 볼찌어다 화평한 자의 결국은 평안이로다
37 Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace.
38 범죄자들은 함께 멸망하리니 악인의 결국은 끊어질 것이나
38 But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off.
39 의인의 구원은 여호와께 있으니 그는 환난 때에 저희 산성이시로다
39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
40 여호와께서 저희를 도와 건지시되 악인에게서 건져 구원하심은 그를 의지한 연고로다
40 The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
