로마서 (Romans)
4:1-5:11
1 그런즉 육신으로 우리 조상된 아브라함이 무엇을 얻었다 하리요
1 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter?
2 만일 아브라함이 행위로써 의롭다 하심을 얻었으면 자랑할 것이 있으려니와 하나님 앞에서는 없느니라
2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about--but not before God.
3 성경이 무엇을 말하느뇨 아브라함이 하나님을 믿으매 이것이 저에게 의로 여기신바 되었느니라
3 What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
4 일하는 자에게는 그 삯을 은혜로 여기지 아니하고 빚으로 여기거니와
4 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation.
5 일을 아니할찌라도 경건치 아니한 자를 의롭다 하시는 이를 믿는 자에게는 그의 믿음을 의로 여기시나니
5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.
6 일한 것이 없이 하나님께 의로 여기심을 받는 사람의 행복에 대하여 다윗의 말한바
6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
7 그 불법을 사하심을 받고 그 죄를 가리우심을 받는 자는 복이 있고
7 Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
8 주께서 그 죄를 인정치 아니하실 사람은 복이 있도다 함과 같으니라
8 Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him."
9 그런즉 이 행복이 할례자에게뇨 혹 무할례자에게도뇨 대저 우리가 말하기를 아브라함에게는 그 믿음을 의로 여기셨다 하노라
9 Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham`s faith was credited to him as righteousness.
10 그런즉 이를 어떻게 여기셨느뇨 할례시냐 무할례시냐 할례시가 아니라 무할례시니라
10 Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before!
11 저가 할례의 표를 받은 것은 무할례시에 믿음으로 된 의를 인친 것이니 이는 무할례자로서 믿는 모든 자의 조상이 되어 저희로 의로 여기심을 얻게 하려 하심이라
11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.
12 또한 할례자의 조상이 되었나니 곧 할례 받을 자에게 뿐아니라 우리 조상 아브라함의 무할례시에 가졌던 믿음의 자취를 좇는 자들에게도니라
12 And he is also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.
13 아브라함이나 그 후손에게 세상의 후사가 되리라고 하신 언약은 율법으로 말미암은 것이 아니요 오직 믿음의 의로 말미암은 것이니라
13 It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
14 만일 율법에 속한 자들이 후사이면 믿음은 헛것이 되고 약속은 폐하여졌느니라
14 For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless,
15 율법은 진노를 이루게 하나니 율법이 없는 곳에는 범함도 없느니라
15 because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.
16 그러므로 후사가 되는 이것이 은혜에 속하기 위하여 믿음으로 되나니 이는 그 약속을 그 모든 후손에게 굳게 하려 하심이라 율법에 속한 자에게 뿐아니라 아브라함의 믿음에 속한 자에게도니 아브라함은 하나님 앞에서 우리 모든 사람의 조상이라
16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham`s offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
17 기록된바 내가 너를 많은 민족의 조상으로 세웠다 하심과 같으니 그의 믿은바 하나님은 죽은 자를 살리시며 없는 것을 있는 것 같이 부르시는 이시니라
17 As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
18 아브라함이 바랄 수 없는 중에 바라고 믿었으니 이는 네 후손이 이같으리라 하신 말씀대로 많은 민족의 조상이 되게 하려 하심을 인함이라
18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
19 그가 백세나 되어 자기 몸의 죽은 것 같음과 사라의 태의 죽은 것 같음을 알고도 믿음이 약하여지지 아니하고
19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead--since he was about a hundred years old--and that Sarah`s womb was also dead.
20 믿음이 없어 하나님의 약속을 의심치 않고 믿음에 견고하여져서 하나님께 영광을 돌리며
20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
21 약속하신 그것을 또한 능히 이루실 줄을 확신하였으니
21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
22 그러므로 이것을 저에게 의로 여기셨느니라
22 This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."
23 저에게 의로 여기셨다 기록된 것은 아브라함만 위한 것이 아니요
23 The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone,
24 의로 여기심을 받을 우리도 위함이니 곧 예수 우리 주를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이를 믿는 자니라
24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
25 예수는 우리 범죄함을 위하여 내어줌이 되고 또한 우리를 의롭다 하심을 위하여 살아나셨느니라
25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
5장
1 그러므로 우리가 믿음으로 의롭다 하심을 얻었은즉 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님으로 더불어 화평을 누리자
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, wehave peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 또한 그로 말미암아 우리가 믿음으로 서 있는 이 은혜에 들어감을 얻었으며 하나님의 영광을 바라고 즐거워하느니라
2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
3 다만 이뿐 아니라 우리가 환난 중에도 즐거워하나니 이는 환난은 인내를,
3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
4 인내는 연단을, 연단은 소망을 이루는 줄 앎이로다
4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5 소망이 부끄럽게 아니함은 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음에 부은바 됨이니
5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
6 우리가 아직 연약할 때에 기약대로 그리스도께서 경건치 않은 자를 위하여 죽으셨도다
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
7 의인을 위하여 죽는 자가 쉽지 않고 선인을 위하여 용감히 죽는 자가 혹 있거니와
7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
8 우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에게 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 그러면 이제 우리가 그 피를 인하여 의롭다 하심을 얻었은즉 더욱 그로 말미암아 진노하심에서 구원을 얻을 것이니
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God`s wrath through him!
10 곧 우리가 원수 되었을 때에 그 아들의 죽으심으로 말미암아 하나님으로 더불어 화목되었은즉 화목된 자로서는 더욱 그의 살으심을 인하여 구원을 얻을 것이니라
10 For if, when we were God`s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
11 이뿐 아니라 이제 우리로 화목을 얻게 하신 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님 안에서 또한 즐거워하느니라
11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.시편 (Psalms)
471 너희 만민들아 손바닥을 치고 즐거운 소리로 하나님께 외칠찌어다
1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.
2 지존하신 여호와는 엄위하시고 온 땅에 큰 임군이 되심이로다
2 How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!
3 여호와께서 만민을 우리에게, 열방을 우리 발 아래 복종케 하시며
3 He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.
4 우리를 위하여 기업을 택하시나니 곧 사랑하신 야곱의 영화로다 (셀라)
4 He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. Selah
5 하나님이 즐거이 부르는 중에 올라가심이여 여호와께서 나팔 소리 중에 올라 가시도다
5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets.
6 찬양하라 하나님을 찬양하라 찬양하라 우리 왕을 찬양하라
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7 하나님은 온 땅에 왕이심이라 지혜의 시로 찬양할찌어다
7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise.
8 하나님이 열방을 치리하시며 하나님이 그 거룩한 보좌에 앉으셨도다
8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.
9 열방의 방백들이 모임이여 아브라함의 하나님의 백성이 되도다 세상의 모든 방패는 여호와의 것임이여 저는 지존하시도다
9 The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.
