로마서 (Romans)
7:8-8:39
7 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 율법이 죄냐 그럴 수 없느니라 율법으로 말미암지 않고는 내가 죄를 알지 못하였으니 곧 율법이 탐내지 말라 하지 아니하였더면 내가 탐심을 알지 못하였으리라
7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."
8 그러나 죄가 기회를 타서 계명으로 말미암아 내 속에서 각양 탐심을 이루었나니 이는 법이 없으면 죄가 죽은 것임이니라
8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead.
9 전에 법을 깨닫지 못할 때에는 내가 살았더니 계명이 이르매 죄는 살아나고 나는 죽었도다
9 Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
10 생명에 이르게 할 그 계명이 내게 대하여 도리어 사망에 이르게 하는 것이 되었도다
10 I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.
11 죄가 기회를 타서 계명으로 말미암아 나를 속이고 그것으로 나를 죽였는지라
11 For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.
12 이로 보건대 율법도 거룩하며 계명도 거룩하며 의로우며 선하도다
12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.
13 그런즉 선한 것이 내게 사망이 되었느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라 오직 죄가 죄로 드러나기 위하여 선한 그것으로 말미암아 나를 죽게 만들었으니 이는 계명으로 말미암아 죄로 심히 죄되게 하려함이니라
13 Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.
14 우리가 율법은 신령한줄 알거니와 나는 육신에 속하여 죄 아래 팔렸도다
14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.
15 나의 행하는 것을 내가 알지 못하노니 곧 원하는 이것은 행하지 아니하고 도리어 미워하는 그것을 함이라
15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
16 만일 내가 원치 아니하는 그것을 하면 내가 이로 율법의 선한 것을 시인하노니
16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.
17 이제는 이것을 행하는 자가 내가 아니요 내 속에 거하는 죄니라
17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.
18 내 속 곧 내 육신에 선한 것이 거하지 아니하는 줄을 아노니 원함은 내게 있으나 선을 행하는 것은 없노라
18 I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19 내가 원하는 바 선은 하지 아니하고 도리어 원치 아니하는 바 악은 행하는도다
19 For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing.
20 만일 내가 원치 아니하는 그것을 하면 이를 행하는 자가 내가 아니요 내 속에 거하는 죄니라
20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21 그러므로 내가 한 법을 깨달았노니 곧 선을 행하기 원하는 나에게 악이 함께 있는 것이로다
21 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
22 내 속 사람으로는 하나님의 법을 즐거워하되
22 For in my inner being I delight in God`s law;
23 내 지체 속에서 한 다른 법이 내 마음의 법과 싸워 내 지체 속에 있는 죄의 법 아래로 나를 사로잡아 오는 것을 보는도다
23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.
24 오호라 나는 곤고한 사람이로다 이 사망의 몸에서 누가 나를 건져 내랴
24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
25 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님께 감사하리로다 그런즉 내 자신이 마음으로는 하나님의 법을, 육신으로는 죄의 법을 섬기노라
25 Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God`s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
8장
1 그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 자에게는 결코 정죄함이 없나니
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2 이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 너를 해방하였음이라
2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
3 율법이 육신으로 말미암아 연약하여 할 수 없는 그것을 하나님은 하시나니 곧 죄를 인하여 자기 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내어 육신에 죄를 정하사
3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man,
4 육신을 좇지 않고 그 영을 좇아 행하는 우리에게 율법의 요구를 이루어지게 하려 하심이니라
4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
5 육신을 좇는 자는 육신의 일을, 영을 좇는 자는 영의 일을 생각하나니
5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
6 육신의 생각은 사망이요 영의 생각은 생명과 평안이니라
6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;
7 육신의 생각은 하나님과 원수가 되나니 이는 하나님의 법에 굴복치 아니할뿐 아니라 할 수도 없음이라
7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God`s law, nor can it do so.
8 육신에 있는 자들은 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없느니라
8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
9 만일 너희 속에 하나님의 영이 거하시면 너희가 육신에 있지 아니하고 영에 있나니 누구든지 그리스도의 영이 없으면 그리스도의 사람이 아니라
9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
10 또 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계시면 몸은 죄로 인하여 죽은 것이나 영은 의를 인하여 산 것이니라
10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라
11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
12 그러므로 형제들아 우리가 빚진 자로되 육신에게 져서 육신대로 살 것이 아니니라
12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.
13 너희가 육신대로 살면 반드시 죽을 것이로되 영으로써 몸의 행실을 죽이면 살리니
13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,
14 무릇 하나님의 영으로 인도함을 받는 그들은 곧 하나님의 아들이라
14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
15 너희는 다시 무서워하는 종의 영을 받지 아니하였고 양자의 영을 받았으므로 아바 아버지라 부르짖느니라
15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
16 성령이 친히 우리 영으로 더불어 우리가 하나님의 자녀인 것을 증거하시나니
16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God`s children.
17 자녀이면 또한 후사 곧 하나님의 후사요 그리스도와 함께한 후사니 우리가 그와 함께 영광을 받기 위하여 고난도 함께 받아야 될 것이니라
17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
18 생각건대 현재의 고난은 장차 우리에게 나타날 영광과 족히 비교할 수 없도다
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
19 피조물의 고대하는 바는 하나님의 아들들의 나타나는 것이니
19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
20 피조물이 허무한데 굴복하는 것은 자기 뜻이 아니요 오직 굴복케 하시는 이로 말미암음이라
20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope
21 그 바라는 것은 피조물도 썩어짐의 종노릇 한데서 해방되어 하나님의 자녀들의 영광의 자유에 이르는 것이니라
21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
22 피조물이 다 이제까지 함께 탄식하며 함께 고통하는 것을 우리가 아나니
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
23 이뿐 아니라 또한 우리 곧 성령의 처음 익은 열매를 받은 우리까지도 속으로 탄식하여 양자 될것 곧 우리 몸의 구속을 기다리느니라
23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
24 우리가 소망으로 구원을 얻었으매 보이는 소망이 소망이 아니니 보는 것을 누가 바라리요
24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?
25 만일 우리가 보지 못하는 것을 바라면 참음으로 기다릴찌니라
25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
26 이와 같이 성령도 우리 연약함을 도우시나니 우리가 마땅히 빌바를 알지 못하나 오직 성령이 말할 수 없는 탄식으로 우리를 위하여 친히 간구하시느니라
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
27 마음을 감찰하시는 이가 성령의 생각을 아시나니 이는 성령이 하나님의 뜻대로 성도를 위하여 간구하심이니라
27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God`s will.
28 우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
29 하나님이 미리 아신 자들로 또한 그 아들의 형상을 본받게 하기 위하여 미리 정하셨으니 이는 그로 많은 형제 중에서 맏아들이 되게 하려 하심이니라
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
30 또 미리 정하신 그들을 또한 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라
30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
31 그런즉 이 일에 대하여 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 만일 하나님이 우리를 위하시면 누가 우리를 대적하리요
31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 자기 아들을 아끼지 아니하시고 우리 모든 사람을 위하여 내어주신 이가 어찌 그 아들과 함께 모든 것을 우리에게 은사로 주지 아니하시겠느뇨
32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
33 누가 능히 하나님의 택하신 자들을 송사하리요 의롭다 하신 이는 하나님이시니
33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
34 누가 정죄하리요 죽으실 뿐아니라 다시 살아나신 이는 그리스도 예수시니 그는 하나님 우편에 계신 자요 우리를 위하여 간구하시는 자시니라
34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
35 누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 끊으리요 환난이나 곤고나 핍박이나 기근이나 적신이나 위험이나 칼이랴
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
36 기록된바 우리가 종일 주를 위하여 죽임을 당케 되며 도살할 양 같이 여김을 받았나이다 함과 같으니라
36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
37 그러나 이 모든 일에 우리를 사랑하시는 이로 말미암아 우리가 넉넉히 이기느니라
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 내가 확신하노니 사망이나 생명이나 천사들이나 권세자들이나 현재 일이나 장래 일이나 능력이나
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 높음이나 깊음이나 다른 아무 피조물이라도 우리를 우리 주 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑에서 끊을 수 없으리라
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.시편 (Psalms)
501 전능하신 자 하나님 여호와께서 말씀하사 해 돋는 데서부터 지는 데까지 세상을 부르셨도다
1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets.
2 온전히 아름다운 시온에서 하나님이 빛을 발하셨도다
2 From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.
3 우리 하나님이 임하사 잠잠치 아니하시니 그 앞에는 불이 삼키고 그 사방에는 광풍이 불리로다
3 Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.
4 하나님이 그 백성을 판단하시려고 윗 하늘과 아래 땅에 반포하여
4 He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 이르시되 나의 성도를 내 앞에 모으라 곧 제사로 나와 언약한 자니라 하시도다
5 Gather to me my consecrated ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
6 하늘이 그 공의를 선포하리니 하나님 그는 심판장이심이로다(셀라)
6 And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah
7 내 백성아 들을찌어다 내가 말하리라 이스라엘아 내가 네게 증거하리라 나는 하나님 곧 네 하나님이로다
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you: I am God, your God.
8 내가 너의 제물을 인하여는 너를 책망치 아니하리니 네 번제가 항상 내 앞에 있음이로다
8 I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
9 내가 네 집에서 수소나 네 우리에서 수염소를 취치 아니하리니
9 I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens,
10 이는 삼림의 짐승들과 천산의 생축이 다 내 것이며
10 for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 산의 새들도 나의 아는 것이며 들의 짐승도 내 것임이로다
11 I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine.
12 내가 가령 주려도 네게 이르지 않을 것은 세계와 거기 충만한 것이 내 것임이로다
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
13 내가 수소의 고기를 먹으며 염소의 피를 마시겠느냐
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 감사로 하나님께 제사를 드리며 지극히 높으신 자에게 네 서원을 갚으며
14 Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High,
15 환난 날에 나를 부르라 내가 너를 건지리니 네가 나를 영화롭게 하리로다
15 and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
16 악인에게는 하나님이 이르시되 네가 어찌 내 율례를 전하며 내 언약을 네 입에 두느냐
16 But to the wicked, God says: "What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips?
17 네가 교훈을 미워하고 내 말을 네 뒤로 던지며
17 You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you.
18 도적을 본즉 연합하고 간음하는 자와 동류가 되며
18 When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers.
19 네 입을 악에게 주고 네 혀로 궤사를 지으며
19 You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit.
20 앉아서 네 형제를 공박하며 네 어미의 아들을 비방하는도다
20 You speak continually against your brother and slander your own mother`s son.
21 네가 이 일을 행하여도 내가 잠잠하였더니 네가 나를 너와 같은 줄로 생각하였도다 그러나 내가 너를 책망하여 네 죄를 네 목전에 차례로 베풀리라 하시는도다
21 These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face.
22 하나님을 잊어버린 너희여 이제 이를 생각하라 그렇지 않으면 내가 너희를 찢으리니 건질 자 없으리라
22 Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with none to rescue:
23 감사로 제사를 드리는 자가 나를 영화롭게 하나니 그 행위를 옳게 하는 자에게 내가 하나님의 구원을 보이리라
23 He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."
