로마서 (Romans)
9:1-29
1 내가 그리스도 안에서 참말을 하고 거짓말을 아니하노라 내게 큰 근심이 있는 것과 마음에 그치지 않는 고통이 있는 것을 내 양심이 성령 안에서 나로 더불어 증거하노니
1 I speak the truth in Christ--I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit--

2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
3 나의 형제 곧 골육의 친척을 위하여 내 자신이 저주를 받아 그리스도에게서 끊어질찌라도 원하는 바로라
3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race,
4 저희는 이스라엘 사람이라 저희에게는 양자 됨과 영광과 언약들과 율법을 세우신 것과 예배와 약속들이 있고
4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.
5 조상들도 저희 것이요 육신으로 하면 그리스도가 저희에게서 나셨으니 저는 만물 위에 계셔 세세에 찬양을 받으실 하나님이시니라 아멘
5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.
6 또한 하나님의 말씀이 폐하여진 것 같지 않도다 이스라엘에게서 난 그들이 다 이스라엘이 아니요
6 It is not as though God`s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.
7 또한 아브라함의 씨가 다 그 자녀가 아니라 오직 이삭으로부터 난 자라야 네 씨라 칭하리라 하셨으니
7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham`s children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."
8 곧 육신의 자녀가 하나님의 자녀가 아니라 오직 약속의 자녀가 씨로 여기심을 받느니라
8 In other words, it is not the natural children who are God`s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham`s offspring.
9 약속의 말씀은 이것이라 명년 이 때에 내가 이르리니 사라에게 아들이 있으리라 하시니라
9 For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son."
10 이뿐 아니라 또한 리브가가 우리 조상 이삭 한 사람으로 말미암아 잉태하였는데
10 Not only that, but Rebekah`s children had one and the same father, our father Isaac.
11 그 자식들이 아직 나지도 아니하고 무슨 선이나 악을 행하지 아니한 때에 택하심을 따라 되는 하나님의 뜻이 행위로 말미암지 않고 오직 부르시는 이에게로 말미암아 서게 하려 하사
11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad--in order that God`s purpose in election might stand:
12 리브가에게 이르시되 큰 자가 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨나니
12 not by works but by him who calls--she was told, "The older will serve the younger."
13 기록된바 내가 야곱은 사랑하고 에서는 미워하였다 하심과 같으니라
13 Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated."
14 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 하나님께 불의가 있느뇨 그럴수 없느니라
14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!
15 모세에게 이르시되 내가 긍휼히 여길 자를 긍휼히 여기고 불쌍히 여길 자를 불쌍히 여기리라 하셨으니
15 For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
16 그런즉 원하는 자로 말미암음도 아니요 달음박질하는 자로 말미암음도 아니요 오직 긍휼히 여기시는 하나님으로 말미암음이니라
16 It does not, therefore, depend on man`s desire or effort, but on God`s mercy.
17 성경이 바로에게 이르시되 내가 이 일을 위하여 너를 세웠으니 곧 너로 말미암아 내 능력을 보이고 내 이름이 온 땅에 전파되게 하려 함이로라 하셨으니
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."
18 그런즉 하나님께서 하고자 하시는 자를 긍휼히 여기시고 하고자 하시는 자를 강퍅케 하시느니라
18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
19 혹 네가 내게 말하기를 그러면 하나님이 어찌하여 허물하시느뇨 누가 그 뜻을 대적하느뇨 하리니
19 One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?"
20 이 사람아 네가 뉘기에 감히 하나님을 힐문하느뇨 지음을 받은 물건이 지은 자에게 어찌 나를 이같이 만들었느냐 말하겠느뇨
20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, `Why did you make me like this?` "
21 토기장이가 진흙 한 덩이로 하나는 귀히 쓸 그릇을, 하나는 천히 쓸 그릇을 만드는 권이 없느냐
21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?
22 만일 하나님이 그 진노를 보이시고 그 능력을 알게 하고자 하사 멸하기로 준비된 진노의 그릇을 오래 참으심으로 관용하시고
22 What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction?
23 또한 영광 받기로 예비하신바 긍휼의 그릇에 대하여 그 영광의 부요함을 알게 하고자 하셨을찌라도 무슨 말 하리요
23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory--
24 이 그릇은 우리니 곧 유대인 중에서 뿐아니라 이방인 중에서도 부르신 자니라
24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?
25 호세아 글에도 이르기를 내가 내 백성 아닌 자를 내 백성이라, 사랑치 아니한 자를 사랑한 자라 부르리라
25 As he says in Hosea: "I will call them `my people` who are not my people; and I will call her `my loved one` who is not my loved one,"
26 너희는 내 백성이 아니라 한 그 곳에서 저희가 살아 계신 하나님의 아들이라 부름을 얻으리라 함과 같으니라
26 and, "It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, `You are not my people,` they will be called `sons of the living God.` "
27 또 이사야가 이스라엘에 관하여 외치되 이스라엘 뭇자손의 수가 비록 바다의 모래 같을찌라도 남은 자만 구원을 얻으리니
27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved.
28 주께서 땅 위에서 그 말씀을 이루사 필하시고 끝내시리라 하셨느니라
28 For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality."
29 또한 이사야가 미리 말한바 만일 만군의 주께서 우리에게 씨를 남겨 두시지 아니하셨더면 우리가 소돔과 같이 되고 고모라와 같았으리로다 함과 같으니라
29 It is just as Isaiah said previously: "Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah."시편 (Psalms)
511 하나님이여 주의 인자를 좇아 나를 긍휼히 여기시며 주의 많은 자비를 좇아 내 죄과를 도말하소서
1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
2 나의 죄악을 말갛게 씻기시며 나의 죄를 깨끗이 제하소서
2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3 대저 나는 내 죄과를 아오니 내 죄가 항상 내 앞에 있나이다
3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
4 내가 주께만 범죄하여 주의 목전에 악을 행하였사오니 주께서 말씀하실 때에 의로우시다 하고 판단하실 때에 순전하시다 하리이다
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.
5 내가 죄악 중에 출생하였음이여 모친이 죄 중에 나를 잉태하였나이다
5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 중심에 진실함을 주께서 원하시오니 내 속에 지혜를 알게 하시리이다
6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts ; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
7 우슬초로 나를 정결케 하소서 내가 정하리이다 나를 씻기소서 내가 눈보다 희리이다
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 나로 즐겁고 기쁜 소리를 듣게 하사 주께서 꺾으신 뼈로 즐거워하게 하소서
8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 주의 얼굴을 내 죄에서 돌이키시고 내 모든 죄악을 도말하소서
9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
10 하나님이여 내 속에 정한 마음을 창조하시고 내 안에 정직한 영을 새롭게 하소서
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 나를 주 앞에서 쫓아내지 마시며 주의 성신을 내게서 거두지 마소서
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 주의 구원의 즐거움을 내게 회복시키시고 자원하는 심령을 주사 나를 붙드소서
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13 그러하면 내가 범죄자에게 주의 도를 가르치리니 죄인들이 주께 돌아오리이다
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you.
14 하나님이여 나의 구원의 하나님이여 피 흘린 죄에서 나를 건지소서 내 혀가 주의 의를 높이 노래하리이다
14 Save me from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 주여 내 입술을 열어주소서 내 입이 주를 찬송하여 전파하리이다
15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 주는 제사를 즐겨 아니하시나니 그렇지 않으면 내가 드렸을 것이라 주는 번제를 기뻐 아니하시나이다
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 하나님의 구하시는 제사는 상한 심령이라 하나님이여 상하고 통회하는 마음을 주께서 멸시치 아니하시리이다
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
18 주의 은택으로 시온에 선을 행하시고 예루살렘성을 쌓으소서
18 In your good pleasure make Zion prosper; build up the walls of Jerusalem.
19 그 때에 주께서 의로운 제사와 번제와 온전한 번제를 기뻐하시리니 저희가 수소로 주의 단에 드리리이다
19 Then there will be righteous sacrifices, whole burnt offerings to delight you; then bulls will be offered on your altar.
