고린도전서 (1 Corinthians)
8-9
1 우상의 제물에 대하여는 우리가 다 지식이 있는 줄을 아나 지식은 교만하게 하며 사랑은 덕을 세우나니
1 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
2 만일 누구든지 무엇을 아는 줄로 생각하면 아직도 마땅히 알 것을 알지 못하는 것이요
2 The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know.
3 또 누구든지 하나님을 사랑하면 이 사람은 하나님의 아시는바 되었느니라
3 But the man who loves God is known by God.
4 그러므로 우상의 제물 먹는 일에 대하여는 우리가 우상은 세상에 아무 것도 아니며 또한 하나님은 한분 밖에 없는줄 아노라
4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one.
5 비록 하늘에나 땅에나 신이라 칭하는 자가 있어 많은 신과 많은 주가 있으나
5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"),
6 그러나 우리에게는 한 하나님 곧 아버지가 계시니 만물이 그에게서 났고 우리도 그를 위하며 또한 한 주 예수 그리스도께서 계시니 만물이 그로 말미암고 우리도 그로 말미암았느니라
6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
7 그러나 이 지식은 사람마다 가지지 못하여 어떤이들은 지금까지 우상에 대한 습관이 있어 우상의 제물로 알고 먹는고로 그들의 양심이 약하여지고 더러워지느니라
7 But not everyone knows this. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat such food they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled.
8 식물은 우리를 하나님 앞에 세우지 못하나니 우리가 먹지 아니하여도 부족함이 없고 먹어도 풍성함이 없으리라
8 But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
9 그런즉 너희 자유함이 약한 자들에게 거치는 것이 되지 않도록 조심하라
9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
10 지식 있는 네가 우상의 집에 앉아 먹는 것을 누구든지 보면 그 약한 자들의 양심이 담력을 얻어 어찌 우상의 제물을 먹게 되지 않겠느냐
10 For if anyone with a weak conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol`s temple, won`t he be emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols?
11 그러면 네 지식으로 그 약한 자가 멸망하나니 그는 그리스도께서 위하여 죽으신 형제라
11 So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge.
12 이같이 너희가 형제에게 죄를 지어 그 약한 양심을 상하게 하는 것이 곧 그리스도에게 죄를 짓는 것이니라
12 When you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
13 그러므로 만일 식물이 내 형제로 실족케 하면 나는 영원히 고기를 먹지 아니하여 내 형제를 실족치 않게 하리라
13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall.
9장
1 내가 자유자가 아니냐 사도가 아니냐 예수 우리 주를 보지 못하였느냐 주 안에서 행한 나의 일이 너희가 아니냐
1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not the result of my work in the Lord?
2 다른 사람들에게는 내가 사도가 아닐찌라도 너희에게는 사도니 나의 사도 됨을 주 안에서 인친 것이 너희라
2 Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
3 나를 힐문하는 자들에게 발명할 것이 이것이니
3 This is my defense to those who sit in judgment on me.
4 우리가 먹고 마시는 권이 없겠느냐
4 Don`t we have the right to food and drink?
5 우리가 다른 사도들과 주의 형제들과 게바와 같이 자매 된 아내를 데리고 다닐 권이 없겠느냐
5 Don`t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord`s brothers and Cephas?
6 어찌 나와 바나바만 일하지 아니할 권이 없겠느냐
6 Or is it only I and Barnabas who must work for a living?
7 누가 자비량하고 병정을 다니겠느냐 누가 포도를 심고 그 실과를 먹지 않겠느냐 누가 양떼를 기르고 그 양떼의 젖을 먹지 않겠느냐
7 Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk?
8 내가 사람의 예대로 이것을 말하느냐 율법도 이것을 말하지 아니하느냐
8 Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Doesn`t the Law say the same thing?
9 모세 율법에 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소에게 망을 씌우지 말라 기록하였으니 하나님께서 어찌 소들을 위하여 염려하심이냐
9 For it is written in the Law of Moses: "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain." Is it about oxen that God is concerned?
10 전혀 우리를 위하여 말씀하심이 아니냐 과연 우리를 위하여 기록된 것이니 밭 가는 자는 소망을 가지고 갈며 곡식 떠는 자는 함께 얻을 소망을 가지고 떠는 것이라
10 Surely he says this for us, doesn`t he? Yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest.
11 우리가 너희에게 신령한 것을 뿌렸은즉 너희 육신의 것을 거두기로 과하다 하겠느냐
11 If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?
12 다른이들도 너희에게 이런 권을 가졌거든 하물며 우리일까보냐 그러나 우리가 이 권을 쓰지 아니하고 범사에 참는 것은 그리스도의 복음에 아무 장애가 없게 하려 함이로라
12 If others have this right of support from you, shouldn`t we have it all the more? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ.
13 성전의 일을 하는 이들은 성전에서 나는 것을 먹으며 제단을 모시는 이들은 제단과 함께 나누는 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐
13 Don`t you know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar?
14 이와 같이 주께서도 복음 전하는 자들이 복음으로 말미암아 살리라 명하셨느니라
14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
15 그러나 내가 이것을 하나도 쓰지 아니하였고 또 이 말을 쓰는 것은 내게 이같이 하여 달라는 것이 아니라 내가 차라리 죽을찌언정... 누구든지 내 자랑하는 것을 헛된 데로 돌리지 못하게 하리라
15 But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this in the hope that you will do such things for me. I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of this boast.
16 내가 복음을 전할찌라도 자랑할 것이 없음은 내가 부득불 할 일임이라 만일 복음을 전하지 아니하면 내게 화가 있을 것임이로라
16 Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
17 내가 내 임의로 이것을 행하면 상을 얻으려니와 임의로 아니한다 할찌라도 나는 직분을 맡았노라
17 If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.
18 그런즉 내 상이 무엇이냐 내가 복음을 전할 때에 값 없이 전하고 복음으로 인하여 내게 있는 권을 다 쓰지 아니하는 이것이로라
18 What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make use of my rights in preaching it.
19 내가 모든 사람에게 자유하였으나 스스로 모든 사람에게 종이 된 것은 더 많은 사람을 얻고자 함이라
19 Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
20 유대인들에게는 내가 유대인과 같이 된 것은 유대인들을 얻고자 함이요 율법 아래 있는 자들에게는 내가 율법 아래 있지 아니하나 율법 아래 있는 자 같이 된 것은 율법 아래 있는 자들을 얻고자 함이요
20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.
21 율법 없는 자에게는 내가 하나님께는 율법 없는 자가 아니요 도리어 그리스도의 율법 아래 있는 자나 율법 없는 자와 같이 된 것은 율법 없는 자들을 얻고자 함이라
21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God`s law but am under Christ`s law), so as to win those not having the law.
22 약한 자들에게는 내가 약한 자와 같이 된 것은 약한 자들을 얻고자 함이요 여러 사람에게 내가 여러 모양이 된 것은 아무쪼록 몇몇 사람들을 구원코자 함이니
22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.
23 내가 복음을 위하여 모든 것을 행함은 복음에 참예하고자 함이라
23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
24 운동장에서 달음질하는 자들이 다 달아날찌라도 오직 상 얻는 자는 하나인 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 너희도 얻도록 이와 같이 달음질하라
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
25 이기기를 다투는 자마다 모든 일에 절제하나니 저희는 썩을 면류관을 얻고자 하되 우리는 썩지 아니할 것을 얻고자 하노라
25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
26 그러므로 내가 달음질하기를 향방 없는것 같이 아니하고 싸우기를 허공을 치는것 같이 아니하여
26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.
27 내가 내 몸을 쳐 복종하게 함은 내가 남에게 전파한 후에 자기가 도리어 버림이 될까 두려워함이로라
27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.시편 (Psalms)
62
1 나의 영혼이 잠잠히 하나님만 바람이여 나의 구원이 그에게서 나는도다
1 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.
2 오직 저만 나의 반석이시요 나의 구원이시요 나의 산성이시니 내가 크게 요동치 아니하리로다
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
3 넘어지는 담과 흔들리는 울타리 같은 사람을 죽이려고 너희가 일제히 박격하기를 언제까지 하려느냐
3 How long will you assault a man? Would all of you throw him down-- this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
4 저희가 그를 그 높은 위에서 떨어뜨리기만 꾀하고 거짓을 즐겨하니 입으로는 축복이요 속으로는 저주로다(셀라)
4 They fully intend to topple him from his lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. Selah
5 나의 영혼아 잠잠히 하나님만 바라라 대저 나의 소망이 저로 좇아 나는도다
5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.
6 오직 저만 나의 반석이시요 나의 구원이시요 나의 산성이시니 내가 요동치 아니하리로다
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 나의 구원과 영광이 하나님께 있음이여 내 힘의 반석과 피난처도 하나님께 있도다
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 백성들아 시시로 저를 의지하고 그 앞에 마음을 토하라 하나님은 우리의 피난처시로다(셀라)
8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah
9 진실로 천한 자도 헛되고 높은 자도 거짓되니 저울에 달면 들려 입김보다 경하리로다
9 Lowborn men are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie; if weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath.
10 포학을 의지하지 말며 탈취한 것으로 허망하여지지 말며 재물이 늘어도 거기 치심치 말찌어다
10 Do not trust in extortion or take pride in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
11 하나님이 한두번 하신 말씀을 내가 들었나니 권능은 하나님께 속하였다 하셨도다
11 One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong,
12 주여 인자함도 주께 속하였사오니 주께서 각 사람이 행한 대로 갚으심이니이다
12 and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.
