38장
1 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되
1 The word of theLordcame to me:
2 인자야 너는 마곡 땅에 있는 로스와 메섹과 두발 왕 곧 곡에게로 얼굴을 향하고 그에게 예언하여
2 Son of man,set your face towardGog, of the land ofMagog, thechief prince ofMeshechandTubal, andprophesy against him
3 이르기를 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 로스와 메섹과 두발 왕 곡아 내가 너를 대적하여
3 and say, Thus says the LordGod: Behold,I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshechand Tubal.
4 너를 돌이켜 갈고리로 네 아가리를 꿰고 너와 말과 기마병 곧 네 온 군대를 끌어내되 완전한 갑옷을 입고 큰 방패와 작은 방패를 가지며 칼을 잡은 큰 무리와
4 And I will turn you about andput hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, andall your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords.
5 그들과 함께 한 방패와 투구를 갖춘 바사와 구스와 붓과
5 Persia,Cush, andPut are with them, all of them with shield and helmet;
6 고멜과 그 모든 떼와 북쪽 끝의 도갈마 족속과 그 모든 떼 곧 많은 백성의 무리를 너와 함께 끌어내리라
6 Gomer and all hishordes;Beth-togarmah fromthe uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes&emdash;many peoples are with you.
7 너는 스스로 예비하되 너와 네게 모인 무리들이 다 스스로 예비하고 너는 그들의 우두머리가 될지어다
7 Be ready and keep ready, you and all your hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them.
8 여러 날 후 곧 말년에 네가 명령을 받고 그 땅 곧 오래 황폐하였던 이스라엘 산에 이르리니 그 땅 백성은 칼을 벗어나서 여러 나라에서 모여 들어오며 이방에서 나와 다 평안히 거주하는 중이라
8 After many days you will be mustered.In the latter years you will go againstthe land that is restored from war, the land whose peoplewere gathered from many peoples uponthe mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples andnow dwell securely, all of them.
9 네가 올라오되 너와 네 모든 떼와 너와 함께 한 많은 백성이 광풍 같이 이르고 구름 같이 땅을 덮으리라
9 You will advance, coming onlike a storm. You will belike a cloud covering the land, you and all yourhordes, and many peoples with you.
10 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 그 날에 네 마음에서 여러 가지 생각이 나서 악한 꾀를 내어
10 Thus says the LordGod: On that day,thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme
11 말하기를 내가 평원의 고을들로 올라 가리라 성벽도 없고 문이나 빗장이 없어도 염려 없이 다 평안히 거주하는 백성에게 나아가서
11 and say,I will go up againstthe land of unwalled villages. I will fall uponthe quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,
12 물건을 겁탈하며 노략하리라 하고 네 손을 들어서 황폐하였다가 지금 사람이 거주하는 땅과 여러 나라에서 모여서 짐승과 재물을 얻고 세상 중앙에 거주하는 백성을 치고자 할 때에
12 to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand againstthe waste places that are now inhabited, andthe people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods,who dwell at the center of the earth.
13 스바와 드단과 다시스의 상인과 그 부자들이 네게 이르기를 네가 탈취하러 왔느냐 네가 네 무리를 모아 노략하고자 하느냐 은과 금을 빼앗으며 짐승과 재물을 빼앗으며 물건을 크게 약탈하여 가고자 하느냐 하리라
13 Sheba andDedan and the merchants of Tarshish and allits leaderswill say to you,Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?
14 인자야 너는 또 예언하여 곡에게 이르기를 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 내 백성 이스라엘이 평안히 거주하는 날에 네가 어찌 그것을 알지 못하겠느냐
14 Therefore,son of man, prophesy, and say toGog, Thus says the LordGod: On that day when my people Israel aredwelling securely,will you not know it?
15 네가 네 고국 땅 북쪽 끝에서 많은 백성 곧 다 말을 탄 큰 무리와 능한 군대와 함께 오되
15 You will come from your place out ofthe uttermost parts of the north, you andmany peoples with you,all of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army.
16 구름이 땅을 덮음 같이 내 백성 이스라엘을 치러 오리라 곡아 끝 날에 내가 너를 이끌어다가 내 땅을 치게 하리니 이는 내가 너로 말미암아 이방 사람의 눈 앞에서 내 거룩함을 나타내어 그들이 다 나를 알게 하려 함이라
16 You will come up against my people Israel,like a cloud covering the land.In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog,I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.
17 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 내가 옛적에 내 종 이스라엘 선지자들을 통하여 말한 사람이 네가 아니냐 그들이 그 때에 여러 해 동안 예언하기를 내가 너를 이끌어다가 그들을 치게 하리라
17 Thus says the LordGod: Are youhe of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them?
18 그 날에 곡이 이스라엘 땅을 치러 오면 내 노여움이 내 얼굴에 나타나리라 주 여호와의 말씀이니라
18 But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the LordGod,my wrath will be roused in my anger.
19 내가 질투와 맹렬한 노여움으로 말하였거니와 그 날에 큰 지진이 이스라엘 땅에 일어나서
19 Forin my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that daythere shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.
20 바다의 고기들과 공중의 새들과 들의 짐승들과 땅에 기는 모든 벌레와 지면에 있는 모든 사람이 내 앞에서 떨 것이며 모든 산이 무너지며 절벽이 떨어지며 모든 성벽이 땅에 무너지리라
20 The fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth,shall quake at my presence. Andthe mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground.
21 주 여호와의 말씀이니라 내가 내 모든 산 중에서 그를 칠 칼을 부르리니 각 사람이 칼로 그 형제를 칠 것이며
21 I will summon a sword against Gogon all my mountains, declares the LordGod.Every man's sword will be against his brother.
22 내가 또 전염병과 피로 그를 심판하며 쏟아지는 폭우와 큰 우박덩이와 불과 유황으로 그와 그 모든 무리와 그와 함께 있는 많은 백성에게 비를 내리듯 하리라
22 With pestilence and bloodshedI will enter into judgment with him, andI will rain upon him andhis hordes and the many peoples who are with himtorrential rains and hailstones,fire and sulfur.
23 이같이 내가 여러 나라의 눈에 내 위대함과 내 거룩함을 나타내어 나를 알게 하리니 내가 여호와인 줄을 그들이 알리라
23 So I will show my greatness and myholiness andmake myself known in the eyes of many nations. Thenthey will know that I am theLord.39장
1 그러므로 인자야 너는 곡에게 예언하여 이르기를 주 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 로스와 메섹과 두발 왕 곡아 내가 너를 대적하여
1 And you,son of man,prophesy againstGog and say, Thus says the LordGod: Behold,I am against you, O Gog,chief prince ofMeshechandTubal.
2 너를 돌이켜서 이끌고 북쪽 끝에서부터 나와서 이스라엘 산 위에 이르러
2 And I will turn you about and drive you forward, and bring you up fromthe uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against themountains of Israel.
3 네 활을 쳐서 네 왼손에서 떨어뜨리고 네 화살을 네 오른손에서 떨어뜨리리니
3 ThenI will strike your bow from your left hand, andwill make your arrows drop out of your right hand.
4 너와 네 모든 무리와 너와 함께 있는 백성이 다 이스라엘 산 위에 엎드러지리라 내가 너를 각종 사나운 새와 들짐승에게 넘겨 먹게 하리니
4 You shall fall onthe mountains of Israel, you and all yourhordes and the peoples who are with you.I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 네가 빈 들에 엎드러지리라 이는 내가 말하였음이니라 주 여호와의 말씀이니라
5 You shall fall in the open field, forI have spoken, declares the LordGod.
6 내가 또 불을 마곡과 및 섬에 평안히 거주하는 자에게 내리리니 내가 여호와인 줄을 그들이 알리라
6 I will send fire onMagog and on thosewho dwell securely inthe coastlands, andthey shall know that I am theLord.
7 내가 내 거룩한 이름을 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데에 알게 하여 다시는 내 거룩한 이름을 더럽히지 아니하게 하리니 내가 여호와 곧 이스라엘의 거룩한 자인 줄을 민족들이 알리라 하라
7 Andmy holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, andI will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. Andthe nations shall know that I amtheLord, the Holy One in Israel.야고보서

14 내 형제들아 만일 사람이 믿음이 있노라 하고 행함이 없으면 무슨 유익이 있으리요 그 믿음이 능히 자기를 구원하겠느냐
14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faithbut does not have works? Can that faith save him?
15 만일 형제나 자매가 헐벗고 일용할 양식이 없는데
15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,
16 너희 중에 누구든지 그에게 이르되 평안히 가라, 덥게 하라, 배부르게 하라 하며 그 몸에 쓸 것을 주지 아니하면 무슨 유익이 있으리요
16 and one of you says to them,Go in peace, be warmed and filled,without giving them the things needed for the body, what goodis that?
17 이와 같이 행함이 없는 믿음은 그 자체가 죽은 것이라
17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 어떤 사람은 말하기를 너는 믿음이 있고 나는 행함이 있으니 행함이 없는 네 믿음을 내게 보이라 나는 행함으로 내 믿음을 네게 보이리라 하리라
18 But someone will say,You have faith and I have works.Show me your faithapart from your works, and I will show you my faithby my works.
19 네가 하나님은 한 분이신 줄을 믿느냐 잘하는도다 귀신들도 믿고 떠느니라
19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Eventhe demons believe&emdash;and shudder!
20 아아 허탄한 사람아 행함이 없는 믿음이 헛것인 줄을 알고자 하느냐
20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?
21 우리 조상 아브라함이 그 아들 이삭을 제단에 바칠 때에 행함으로 의롭다 하심을 받은 것이 아니냐
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?
22 네가 보거니와 믿음이 그의 행함과 함께 일하고 행함으로 믿음이 온전하게 되었느니라
22 You see thatfaith was active along with his works, and faith was completedby his works;
23 이에 성경에 이른 바 아브라함이 하나님을 믿으니 이것을 의로 여기셨다는 말씀이 이루어졌고 그는 하나님의 벗이라 칭함을 받았나니
23 and the Scripture was fulfilled that says,Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness&emdash;and he was called afriend of God.
24 이로 보건대 사람이 행함으로 의롭다 하심을 받고 믿음으로만은 아니니라
24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
25 또 이와 같이 기생 라합이 사자들을 접대하여 다른 길로 나가게 할 때에 행함으로 의롭다 하심을 받은 것이 아니냐
25 And in the same way was not alsoRahab the prostitute justified by workswhen she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?
26 영혼 없는 몸이 죽은 것 같이 행함이 없는 믿음은 죽은 것이니라
26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.
