다니엘
2장
1 느부갓네살이 다스린 지 이 년이 되는 해에 느부갓네살이 꿈을 꾸고 그로 말미암아 마음이 번민하여 잠을 이루지 못한지라
1 In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.
2 왕이 그의 꿈을 자기에게 알려 주도록 박수와 술객과 점쟁이와 갈대아 술사를 부르라 말하매 그들이 들어가서 왕의 앞에 선지라
2 So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king,
3 왕이 그들에게 이르되 내가 꿈을 꾸고 그 꿈을 알고자 하여 마음이 번민하도다 하니
3 he said to them, "I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means. "
4 갈대아 술사들이 아람 말로 왕에게 말하되 왕이여 만수무강 하옵소서 왕께서 그 꿈을 종들에게 이르시면 우리가 해석하여 드리겠나이다 하는지라
4 Then the astrologers answered the king in Aramaic, "O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it."
5 왕이 갈대아인들에게 대답하여 이르되 내가 명령을 내렸나니 너희가 만일 꿈과 그 해석을 내게 알게 하지 아니하면 너희 몸을 쪼갤 것이며 너희의 집을 거름더미로 만들 것이요
5 The king replied to the astrologers, "This is what I have firmly decided: If you do not tell me what my dream was and interpret it, I will have you cut into pieces and your houses turned into piles of rubble.
6 너희가 만일 꿈과 그 해석을 보이면 너희가 선물과 상과 큰 영광을 내게서 얻으리라 그런즉 꿈과 그 해석을 내게 보이라 하니
6 But if you tell me the dream and explain it, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. So tell me the dream and interpret it for me."
7 그들이 다시 대답하여 이르되 원하건대 왕은 꿈을 종들에게 이르소서 그리하시면 우리가 해석하여 드리겠나이다 하니
7 Once more they replied, "Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will interpret it."
8 왕이 대답하여 이르되 내가 분명히 아노라 너희가 나의 명령이 내렸음을 보았으므로 시간을 지연하려 함이로다
8 Then the king answered, "I am certain that you are trying to gain time, because you realize that this is what I have firmly decided:
9 너희가 만일 이 꿈을 내게 알게 하지 아니하면 너희를 처치할 법이 오직 하나이니 이는 너희가 거짓말과 망령된 말을 내 앞에서 꾸며 말하여 때가 변하기를 기다리려 함이라 이제 그 꿈을 내게 알게 하라 그리하면 너희가 그 해석도 보일 줄을 내가 알리라 하더라
9 If you do not tell me the dream, there is just one penalty for you. You have conspired to tell me misleading and wicked things, hoping the situation will change. So then, tell me the dream, and I will know that you can interpret it for me."
10 갈대아인들이 왕 앞에 대답하여 이르되 세상에는 왕의 그 일을 보일 자가 한 사람도 없으므로 어떤 크고 권력 있는 왕이라도 이런 것으로 박수에게나 술객에게나 갈대아인들에게 물은 자가 없었나이다
10 The astrologers answered the king, "There is not a man on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer.
11 왕께서 물으신 것은 어려운 일이라 육체와 함께 살지 아니하는 신들 외에는 왕 앞에 그것을 보일 자가 없나이다 한지라
11 What the king asks is too difficult. No one can reveal it to the king except the gods, and they do not live among men."
12 왕이 이로 말미암아 진노하고 통분하여 바벨론의 모든 지혜자들을 다 죽이라 명령하니라
12 This made the king so angry and furious that he ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon.
13 왕의 명령이 내리매 지혜자들은 죽게 되었고 다니엘과 그의 친구들도 죽이려고 찾았더라
13 So the decree was issued to put the wise men to death, and men were sent to look for Daniel and his friends to put them to death.
14 그 때에 왕의 근위대장 아리옥이 바벨론 지혜자들을 죽이러 나가매 다니엘이 명철하고 슬기로운 말로
14 When Arioch, the commander of the king`s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact.
15 왕의 근위대장 아리옥에게 물어 이르되 왕의 명령이 어찌 그리 급하냐 하니 아리옥이 그 일을 다니엘에게 알리매
15 He asked the king`s officer, "Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?" Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel.
16 다니엘이 들어가서 왕께 구하기를 시간을 주시면 왕에게 그 해석을 알려 드리리이다 하니라
16 At this, Daniel went in to the king and asked for time, so that he might interpret the dream for him.
17 이에 다니엘이 자기 집으로 돌아가서 그 친구 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴에게 그 일을 알리고
17 Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.
18 하늘에 계신 하나님이 이 은밀한 일에 대하여 불쌍히 여기사 다니엘과 친구들이 바벨론의 다른 지혜자들과 함께 죽임을 당하지 않게 하시기를 그들로 하여금 구하게 하니라
18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19 이에 이 은밀한 것이 밤에 환상으로 다니엘에게 나타나 보이매 다니엘이 하늘에 계신 하나님을 찬송하니라
19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven
20 다니엘이 말하여 이르되 영원부터 영원까지 하나님의 이름을 찬송할 것은 지혜와 능력이 그에게 있음이로다
20 and said: "Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
21 그는 때와 계절을 바꾸시며 왕들을 폐하시고 왕들을 세우시며 지혜자에게 지혜를 주시고 총명한 자에게 지식을 주시는도다
21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
22 그는 깊고 은밀한 일을 나타내시고 어두운 데에 있는 것을 아시며 또 빛이 그와 함께 있도다
22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
23 나의 조상들의 하나님이여 주께서 이제 내게 지혜와 능력을 주시고 우리가 주께 구한 것을 내게 알게 하셨사오니 내가 주께 감사하고 주를 찬양하나이다 곧 주께서 왕의 그 일을 내게 보이셨나이다 하니라
23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king."
베드로전서
4장
1 그리스도께서 이미 육체의 고난을 받으셨으니 너희도 같은 마음으로 갑옷을 삼으라 이는 육체의 고난을 받은 자는 죄를 그쳤음이니
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.
2 그 후로는 다시 사람의 정욕을 따르지 않고 하나님의 뜻을 따라 육체의 남은 때를 살게 하려 함이라
2 As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
3 너희가 음란과 정욕과 술취함과 방탕과 향락과 무법한 우상 숭배를 하여 이방인의 뜻을 따라 행한 것은 지나간 때로 족하도다
3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
4 이러므로 너희가 그들과 함께 그런 극한 방탕에 달음질하지 아니하는 것을 그들이 이상히 여겨 비방하나
4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you.
5 그들이 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하기로 예비하신 이에게 사실대로 고하리라
5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
6 이를 위하여 죽은 자들에게도 복음이 전파되었으니 이는 육체로는 사람으로 심판을 받으나 영으로는 하나님을 따라 살게 하려 함이라
6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
7 만물의 마지막이 가까이 왔으니 그러므로 너희는 정신을 차리고 근신하여 기도하라
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.
8 무엇보다도 뜨겁게 서로 사랑할지니 사랑은 허다한 죄를 덮느니라
8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
9 서로 대접하기를 원망 없이 하고
9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
10 각각 은사를 받은 대로 하나님의 여러 가지 은혜를 맡은 선한 청지기 같이 서로 봉사하라
10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God`s grace in its various forms.
11 만일 누가 말하려면 하나님의 말씀을 하는 것 같이 하고 누가 봉사하려면 하나님이 공급하시는 힘으로 하는 것 같이 하라 이는 범사에 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님이 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이니 그에게 영광과 권능이 세세에 무궁하도록 있느니라 아멘
11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
12 사랑하는 자들아 너희를 연단하려고 오는 불 시험을 이상한 일 당하는 것 같이 이상히 여기지 말고
12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
13 오히려 너희가 그리스도의 고난에 참여하는 것으로 즐거워하라 이는 그의 영광을 나타내실 때에 너희로 즐거워하고 기뻐하게 하려 함이라
13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
14 너희가 그리스도의 이름으로 치욕을 당하면 복 있는 자로다 영광의 영 곧 하나님의 영이 너희 위에 계심이라
14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
15 너희 중에 누구든지 살인이나 도둑질이나 악행이나 남의 일을 간섭하는 자로 고난을 받지 말려니와
15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.
16 만일 그리스도인으로 고난을 받으면 부끄러워하지 말고 도리어 그 이름으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라
16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
17 하나님의 집에서 심판을 시작할 때가 되었나니 만일 우리에게 먼저 하면 하나님의 복음을 순종하지 아니하는 자들의 그 마지막은 어떠하며
17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
18 또 의인이 겨우 구원을 받으면 경건하지 아니한 자와 죄인은 어디에 서리요
18 And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"
19 그러므로 하나님의 뜻대로 고난을 받는 자들은 또한 선을 행하는 가운데에 그 영혼을 미쁘신 창조주께 의탁할지어다
19 So then, those who suffer according to God`s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
