2장
1 파괴하는 자가 너를 치러 올라왔나니 너는 산성을 지키며 길을 파수하며 네 허리를 견고히 묶고 네 힘을 크게 굳게 할지어다
1 An attacker advances against you, Nineveh . Guard the fortress, watch the road, brace yourselves, marshal all your strength!
2 여호와께서 야곱의 영광을 회복하시되 이스라엘의 영광 같게 하시나니 이는 약탈자들이 약탈하였고 또 그들의 포도나무 가지를 없이 하였음이라
2 The LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like the splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them waste and have ruined their vines.
3 그의 용사들의 방패는 붉고 그의 무사들의 옷도 붉으며 그 항오를 벌이는 날에 병거의 쇠가 번쩍이고 노송나무 창이 요동하는도다
3 The shields of his soldiers are red; the warriors are clad in scarlet. The metal on the chariots flashes on the day they are made ready; the spears of pine are brandished.
4 그 병거는 미친 듯이 거리를 달리며 대로에서 이리저리 빨리 달리니 그 모양이 횃불 같고 빠르기가 번개 같도다
4 The chariots storm through the streets, rushing back and forth through the squares. They look like flaming torches; they dart about like lightning.
5 그가 그의 존귀한 자들을 생각해 내니 그들이 엎드러질 듯이 달려서 급히 성에 이르러 막을 것을 준비하도다
5 He summons his picked troops, yet they stumble on their way. They dash to the city wall; the protective shield is put in place.
6 강들의 수문이 열리고 왕궁이 소멸되며
6 The river gates are thrown open and the palace collapses.
7 정한 대로 왕후가 벌거벗은 몸으로 끌려가니 그 모든 시녀들이 가슴을 치며 비둘기 같이 슬피 우는도다
7 It is decreed that the city be exiled and carried away. Its slave girls moan like doves and beat upon their breasts.
8 니느웨는 예로부터 물이 모인 못 같더니 이제 모두 도망하니 서라 서라 하나 돌아보는 자가 없도다
8 Nineveh is like a pool, and its water is draining away. "Stop! Stop!" they cry, but no one turns back.
9 은을 노략하라 금을 노략하라 그 저축한 것이 무한하고 아름다운 기구가 풍부함이니라
9 Plunder the silver! Plunder the gold! The supply is endless, the wealth from all its treasures!
10 니느웨가 공허하였고 황폐하였도다 주민이 낙담하여 그 무릎이 서로 부딪히며 모든 허리가 아프게 되며 모든 낯이 빛을 잃도다
10 She is pillaged, plundered, stripped! Hearts melt, knees give way, bodies tremble, every face grows pale.
11 이제 사자의 굴이 어디냐 젊은 사자가 먹을 곳이 어디냐 전에는 수사자 암사자가 그 새끼 사자와 함께 거기서 다니되 그것들을 두렵게 할 자가 없었으며
11 Where now is the lions` den, the place where they fed their young, where the lion and lioness went, and the cubs, with nothing to fear?
12 수사자가 그 새끼를 위하여 먹이를 충분히 찢고 그의 암사자들을 위하여 움켜 사냥한 것으로 그 굴을 채웠고 찢은 것으로 그 구멍을 채웠었도다
12 The lion killed enough for his cubs and strangled the prey for his mate, filling his lairs with the kill and his dens with the prey.
13 만군의 여호와의 말씀에 내가 네 대적이 되어 네 병거들을 불살라 연기가 되게 하고 네 젊은 사자들을 칼로 멸할 것이며 내가 또 네 노략한 것을 땅에서 끊으리니 네 파견자의 목소리가 다시는 들리지 아니하리라 하셨느니라
13 I am against you, declares the LORD Almighty. "I will burn up your chariots in smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will leave you no prey on the earth. The voices of your messengers will no longer be heard."3장
1 화 있을진저 피의 성이여 그 안에는 거짓이 가득하고 포악이 가득하며 탈취가 떠나지 아니하는도다
1 Woe to the city of blood, full of lies, full of plunder, never without victims!
2 휙휙 하는 채찍 소리, 윙윙 하는 병거 바퀴 소리, 뛰는 말, 달리는 병거,
2 The crack of whips, the clatter of wheels, galloping horses and jolting chariots!
3 충돌하는 기병, 번쩍이는 칼, 번개 같은 창, 죽임 당한 자의 떼, 주검의 큰 무더기, 무수한 시체여 사람이 그 시체에 걸려 넘어지니
3 Charging cavalry, flashing swords and glittering spears! Many casualties, piles of dead, bodies without number, people stumbling over the corpses-
4 이는 마술에 능숙한 미모의 음녀가 많은 음행을 함이라 그가 그의 음행으로 여러 나라를 미혹하고 그의 마술로 여러 족속을 미혹하느니라
4 all because of the wanton lust of a harlot, alluring, the mistress of sorceries, who enslaved nations by her prostitution and peoples by her witchcraft.
5 보라 내가 네게 말하노니 만군의 여호와의 말씀에 네 치마를 걷어 올려 네 얼굴에 이르게 하고 네 벌거벗은 것을 나라들에게 보이며 네 부끄러운 곳을 뭇 민족에게 보일 것이요
5 I am against you, declares the LORD Almighty. "I will lift your skirts over your face. I will show the nations your nakedness and the kingdoms your shame.
6 내가 또 가증하고 더러운 것들을 네 위에 던져 능욕하여 너를 구경 거리가 되게 하리니
6 I will pelt you with filth, I will treat you with contempt and make you a spectacle.
7 그 때에 너를 보는 자가 다 네게서 도망하며 이르기를 니느웨가 황폐하였도다 누가 그것을 위하여 애곡하며 내가 어디서 너를 위로할 자를 구하리요 하리라
7 All who see you will flee from you and say, `Nineveh is in ruins--who will mourn for her?` Where can I find anyone to comfort you?"
8 네가 어찌 노아몬보다 낫겠느냐 그는 강들 사이에 있으므로 물이 둘렸으니 바다가 성루가 되었고 바다가 방어벽이 되었으며
8 Are you better than Thebes, situated on the Nile, with water around her? The river was her defense, the waters her wall.
9 구스와 애굽은 그의 힘이 강하여 끝이 없었고 붓과 루빔이 그를 돕는 자가 되었으나
9 Cush and Egypt were her boundless strength; Put and Libya were among her allies.
10 그가 포로가 되어 사로잡혀 갔고 그의 어린 아이들은 길 모퉁이 모퉁이에 메어침을 당하여 부서졌으며 그의 존귀한 자들은 제비 뽑혀 나뉘었고 그의 모든 권세자들은 사슬에 결박되었나니
10 Yet she was taken captive and went into exile. Her infants were dashed to pieces at the head of every street. Lots were cast for her nobles, and all her great men were put in chains.
11 너도 술에 취하여 숨으리라 너도 원수들 때문에 피난처를 찾으리라
11 You too will become drunk; you will go into hiding and seek refuge from the enemy.
12 네 모든 산성은 무화과나무의 처음 익은 열매가 흔들기만 하면 먹는 자의 입에 떨어짐과 같으리라
12 All your fortresses are like fig trees with their first ripe fruit; when they are shaken, the figs fall into the mouth of the eater.
13 네 가운데 장정들은 여인 같고 네 땅의 성문들은 네 원수 앞에 넓게 열리고 빗장들은 불에 타도다
13 Look at your troops-- they are all women! The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire has consumed their bars.
14 너는 물을 길어 에워싸일 것을 대비하며 너의 산성들을 견고하게 하며 진흙에 들어가서 흙을 밟아 벽돌 가마를 수리하라
14 Draw water for the siege, strengthen your defenses! Work the clay, tread the mortar, repair the brickwork!
15 거기서 불이 너를 삼키며 칼이 너를 베기를 느치가 먹는 것 같이 하리라 네가 느치 같이 스스로 많게 할지어다 네가 메뚜기 같이 스스로 많게 할지어다
15 There the fire will devour you; the sword will cut you down and, like grasshoppers, consume you. Multiply like grasshoppers, multiply like locusts!
16 네가 네 상인을 하늘의 별보다 많게 하였으나 느치가 날개를 펴서 날아감과 같고
16 You have increased the number of your merchants till they are more than the stars of the sky, but like locusts they strip the land and then fly away.
17 네 방백은 메뚜기 같고 너의 장수들은 큰 메뚜기 떼가 추운 날에는 울타리에 깃들였다가 해가 뜨면 날아감과 같으니 그 있는 곳을 알 수 없도다
17 Your guards are like locusts, your officials like swarms of locusts that settle in the walls on a cold day-- but when the sun appears they fly away, and no one knows where.
18 앗수르 왕이여 네 목자가 자고 네 귀족은 누워 쉬며 네 백성은 산들에 흩어지나 그들을 모을 사람이 없도다
18 O king of Assyria, your shepherds slumber; your nobles lie down to rest. Your people are scattered on the mountains with no one to gather them.
19 네 상처는 고칠 수 없고 네 부상은 중하도다 네 소식을 듣는 자가 다 너를 보고 손뼉을 치나니 이는 그들이 항상 네게 행패를 당하였음이 아니더냐 하시니라
19 Nothing can heal your wound; your injury is fatal. Everyone who hears the news about you claps his hands at your fall, for who has not felt your endless cruelty?요한계시록
11장
1 또 내게 지팡이 같은 갈대를 주며 말하기를 일어나서 하나님의 성전과 제단과 그 안에서 경배하는 자들을 측량하되
1 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there.
2 성전 바깥 마당은 측량하지 말고 그냥 두라 이것은 이방인에게 주었은즉 그들이 거룩한 성을 마흔두 달 동안 짓밟으리라
2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.
3 내가 나의 두 증인에게 권세를 주리니 그들이 굵은 베옷을 입고 천이백육십 일을 예언하리라
3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth."
4 그들은 이 땅의 주 앞에 서 있는 두 감람나무와 두 촛대니
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.
5 만일 누구든지 그들을 해하고자 하면 그들의 입에서 불이 나와서 그들의 원수를 삼켜 버릴 것이요 누구든지 그들을 해하고자 하면 반드시 그와 같이 죽임을 당하리라
5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.
6 그들이 권능을 가지고 하늘을 닫아 그 예언을 하는 날 동안 비가 오지 못하게 하고 또 권능을 가지고 물을 피로 변하게 하고 아무 때든지 원하는 대로 여러 가지 재앙으로 땅을 치리로다
6 These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.
7 그들이 그 증언을 마칠 때에 무저갱으로부터 올라오는 짐승이 그들과 더불어 전쟁을 일으켜 그들을 이기고 그들을 죽일 터인즉
7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.
8 그들의 시체가 큰 성 길에 있으리니 그 성은 영적으로 하면 소돔이라고도 하고 애굽이라고도 하니 곧 그들의 주께서 십자가에 못 박히신 곳이라
8 Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
9 백성들과 족속과 방언과 나라 중에서 사람들이 그 시체를 사흘 반 동안을 보며 무덤에 장사하지 못하게 하리로다
9 For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.
10 이 두 선지자가 땅에 사는 자들을 괴롭게 한 고로 땅에 사는 자들이 그들의 죽음을 즐거워하고 기뻐하여 서로 예물을 보내리라 하더라
10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
11 삼 일 반 후에 하나님께로부터 생기가 그들 속에 들어가매 그들이 발로 일어서니 구경하는 자들이 크게 두려워하더라
11 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them.
12 하늘로부터 큰 음성이 있어 이리로 올라오라 함을 그들이 듣고 구름을 타고 하늘로 올라가니 그들의 원수들도 구경하더라
12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.
13 그 때에 큰 지진이 나서 성 십분의 일이 무너지고 지진에 죽은 사람이 칠천이라 그 남은 자들이 두려워하여 영광을 하늘의 하나님께 돌리더라
13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 둘째 화는 지나갔으나 보라 셋째 화가 속히 이르는도다
14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon.
