3
1 사데 교회의 사자에게 편지하기를 하나님의 일곱 영과 일곱 별을 가진이가 가라사대 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 살았다 하는 이름은 가졌으나 죽은 자로다
1 To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spiritsof God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.
2 너는 일깨워 그 남은바 죽게 된 것을 굳게 하라 내 하나님 앞에 네 행위의 온전한 것을 찾지 못하였노니
2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God.
3 그러므로 네가 어떻게 받았으며 어떻게 들었는지 생각하고 지키어 회개하라 만일 일깨지 아니하면 내가 도적 같이 이르리니 어느 시에 네게 임할는지 네가 알지 못하리라
3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
4 그러나 사데에 그 옷을 더럽히지 아니한 자 몇명이 네게 있어 흰 옷을 입고 나와 함께 다니리니 그들은 합당한 자인 연고라
4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy.
5 이기는 자는 이와 같이 흰 옷을 입을 것이요 내가 그 이름을 생명책에서 반드시 흐리지 아니하고 그 이름을 내 아버지 앞과 그 천사들 앞에서 시인하리라
5 He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.
6 귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을찌어다
6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
7 빌라델비아 교회의 사자에게 편지하기를 거룩하고 진실하사 다윗의 열쇠를 가지신 이 곧 열면 닫을 사람이 없고 닫으면 열 사람이 없는 그이가 가라사대
7 To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
8 볼찌어다 내가 네 앞에 열린 문을 두었으되 능히 닫을 사람이 없으리라 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 적은 능력을 가지고도 내 말을 지키며 내 이름을 배반치 아니하였도다
8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
9 보라 사단의 회 곧 자칭 유대인이라 하나 그렇지 않고 거짓말 하는 자들 중에서 몇을 네게 주어 저희로 와서 네 발앞에 절하게 하고 내가 너를 사랑하는 줄을 알게 하리라
9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.
10 네가 나의 인내의 말씀을 지켰은즉 내가 또한 너를 지키어 시험의 때를 면하게 하리니 이는 장차 온 세상에 임하여 땅에 거하는 자들을 시험할 때라
10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
11 내가 속히 임하리니 네가 가진 것을 굳게 잡아 아무나 네 면류관을 빼앗지 못하게 하라
11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
12 이기는 자는 내 하나님 성전에 기둥이 되게 하리니 그가 결코 다시 나가지 아니하리라 내가 하나님의 이름과 하나님의 성 곧 하늘에서 내 하나님께로부터 내려 오는 새 예루살렘의 이름과 나의 새 이름을 그이 위에 기록하리라
12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.
13 귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을찌어다
13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
14 라오디게아 교회의 사자에게 편지하기를 아멘이시요 충성되고 참된 증인이시요 하나님의 창조의 근본이신 이가 가라사대
14 To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God`s creation.
15 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 차지도 아니하고 더웁지도 아니하도다 네가 차든지 더웁든지 하기를 원하노라
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!
16 네가 이같이 미지근하여 더웁지도 아니하고 차지도 아니하니 내 입에서 너를 토하여 내치리라
16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
17 네가 말하기를 나는 부자라 부요하여 부족한 것이 없다 하나 네 곤고한 것과 가련한 것과 가난한 것과 눈 먼것과 벌거벗은 것을 알지 못하도다
17 You say, `I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.` But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
18 내가 너를 권하노니 내게서 불로 연단한 금을 사서 부요하게 하고 흰 옷을 사서 입어 벌거벗은 수치를 보이지 않게 하고 안약을 사서 눈에 발라 보게 하라
18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 무릇 내가 사랑하는 자를 책망하여 징계하노니 그러므로 네가 열심을 내라 회개하라
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.
20 볼찌어다 내가 문밖에 서서 두드리노니 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가 그로 더불어 먹고 그는 나로 더불어 먹으리라
20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
21 이기는 그에게는 내가 내 보좌에 함께 앉게 하여주기를 내가 이기고 아버지 보좌에 함께 앉은 것과 같이 하리라
21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.
22 귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을찌어다
22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."잠언 (Proverbs)

1 무릇 지혜로운 여인은 그 집을 세우되 미련한 여인은 자기 손으로 그것을 허느니라
1 The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
2 정직하게 행하는 자는 여호와를 경외하여도 패역하게 행하는 자는 여호와를 경멸히 여기느니라
2 He whose walk is upright fears the LORD, but he whose ways are devious despises him.
3 미련한 자는 교만하여 입으로 매를 자청하고 지혜로운 자는 입술로 스스로 보전하느니라
3 A fool`s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
4 소가 없으면 구유는 깨끗하려니와 소의 힘으로 얻는 것이 많으니라
4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox comes an abundant harvest.
5 신실한 증인은 거짓말을 아니하여도 거짓 증인은 거짓말을 뱉느니라
5 A truthful witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
6 거만한 자는 지혜를 구하여도 얻지 못하거니와 명철한 자는 지식 얻기가 쉬우니라
6 The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.
7 너는 미련한 자의 앞을 떠나라 그 입술에 지식 있음을 보지 못함이니라
7 Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.
8 슬기로운 자의 지혜는 자기의 길을 아는 것이라도 미련한 자의 어리석음은 속이는 것이니라
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.
9 미련한 자는 죄를 심상히 여겨도 정직한 자 중에는 은혜가 있느니라
9 Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.
10 마음의 고통은 자기가 알고 마음의 즐거움도 타인이 참여하지 못하느니라
10 Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.
11 악한 자의 집은 망하겠고 정직한 자의 장막은 흥하리라
11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 어떤 길은 사람의 보기에 바르나 필경은 사망의 길이니라
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
13 웃을 때에도 마음에 슬픔이 있고 즐거움의 끝에도 근심이 있느니라
13 Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in grief.
14 마음이 패려한 자는 자기 행위로 보응이 만족하겠고 선한 사람도 자기의 행위로 그러하리라
14 The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good man rewarded for his.
15 어리석은 자는 온갖 말을 믿으나 슬기로운 자는 그 행동을 삼가느니라
15 A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.
16 지혜로운 자는 두려워하여 악을 떠나나 어리석은 자는 방자하여 스스로 믿느니라
16 A wise man fears the LORD and shuns evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless.
17 노하기를 속히 하는 자는 어리석은 일을 행하고 악한 계교를 꾀하는 자는 미움을 받느니라
17 A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated.
18 어리석은 자는 어리석음으로 기업을 삼아도 슬기로운 자는 지식으로 면류관을 삼느니라
18 The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 악인은 선인 앞에 엎드리고 불의자는 의인의 문에 엎드리느니라
19 Evil men will bow down in the presence of the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 가난한 자는 그 이웃에게도 미움을 받게 되나 부요한 자는 친구가 많으니라
20 The poor are shunned even by their neighbors, but the rich have many friends.
21 그 이웃을 업신여기는 자는 죄를 범하는 자요 빈곤한 자를 불쌍히 여기는 자는 복이 있는 자니라
21 He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.
22 악을 도모하는 자는 그릇 가는 것이 아니냐 선을 도모하는 자에게는 인자와 진리가 있으리라
22 Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.
23 모든 수고에는 이익이 있어도 입술의 말은 궁핍을 이룰 뿐이니라
23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
24 지혜로운 자의 재물은 그의 면류관이요 미련한 자의 소유는 다만 그 미련한 것이니라
24 The wealth of the wise is their crown, but the folly of fools yields folly.
25 진실한 증인은 사람의 생명을 구원하여도 거짓말을 뱉는 사람은 속이느니라
25 A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful.
26 여호와를 경외하는 자에게는 견고한 의뢰가 있나니 그 자녀들에게 피난처가 있으리라
26 He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge.
27 여호와를 경외하는 것은 생명의 샘이라 사망의 그물에서 벗어나게 하느니라
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.
28 백성이 많은 것은 왕의 영광이요 백성이 적은 것은 주권자의 패망이니라
28 A large population is a king`s glory, but without subjects a prince is ruined.
29 노하기를 더디 하는 자는 크게 명철하여도 마음이 조급한 자는 어리석음을 나타내느니라
29 A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.
30 마음의 화평은 육신의 생명이나 시기는 뼈의 썩음이니라
30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
31 가난한 사람을 학대하는 자는 그를 지으신 이를 멸시하는 자요 궁핍한 사람을 불쌍히 여기는 자는 주를 존경하는 자니라
31 He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
32 악인은 그 환난에 엎드러져도 의인은 그 죽음에도 소망이 있느니라
32 When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge.
33 지혜는 명철한 자의 마음에 머물거니와 미련한 자의 속에 있는 것은 나타나느니라
33 Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning and even among fools she lets herself be known.
34 의는 나라로 영화롭게 하고 죄는 백성을 욕되게 하느니라
34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
35 슬기롭게 행하는 신하는 왕의 은총을 입고 욕을 끼치는 신하는 그의 진노를 당하느니라
35 A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant incurs his wrath.
