8:6-9:21
6 일곱 나팔 가진 일곱 천사가 나팔 불기를 예비하더라
6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.
7 첫째 천사가 나팔을 부니 피 섞인 우박과 불이 나서 땅에 쏟아지매 땅의 삼분의 일이 타서 사위고 수목의 삼분의 일도 타서 사위고 각종 푸른 풀도 타서 사위더라
7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
8 둘째 천사가 나팔을 부니 불붙는 큰 산과 같은 것이 바다에 던지우매 바다의 삼분의 일이 피가 되고
8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood,
9 바다 가운데 생명 가진 피조물들의 삼분의 일이 죽고 배들의 삼분의 일이 깨어지더라
9 a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 세째 천사가 나팔을 부니 횃불 같이 타는 큰 별이 하늘에서 떨어져 강들의 삼분의 일과 여러 물샘에 떨어지니
10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water--
11 이 별 이름은 쑥이라 물들의 삼분의 일이 쑥이 되매 그 물들이 쓰게 됨을 인하여 많은 사람이 죽더라
11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
12 네째 천사가 나팔을 부니 해 삼분의 일과 달 삼분의 일과 별들의 삼분의 일이 침을 받아 그 삼분의 일이 어두워지니 낮 삼분의 일은 비췸이 없고 밤도 그러하더라
12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.
13 내가 또 보고 들으니 공중에 날아가는 독수리가 큰 소리로 이르되 땅에 거하는 자들에게 화, 화, 화가 있으리로다 이 외에도 세 천사의 불 나팔소리를 인함이로다 하더라
13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"
9장
1 다섯째 천사가 나팔을 불매 내가 보니 하늘에서 땅에 떨어진 별 하나가 있는데 저가 무저갱의 열쇠를 받았더라
1 The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss.
2 저가 무저갱을 여니 그 구멍에서 큰 풀무의 연기 같은 연기가 올라오매 해와 공기가 그 구멍의 연기로 인하여 어두워지며
2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
3 또 황충이 연기 가운데로부터 땅 위에 나오매 저희가 땅에 있는 전갈의 권세와 같은 권세를 받았더라
3 And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.
4 저희에게 이르시되 땅의 풀이나 푸른 것이나 각종 수목은 해하지 말고 오직 이마에 하나님의 인 맞지 아니한 사람들만 해하라 하시더라
4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
5 그러나 그들을 죽이지는 못하게 하시고 다섯달 동안 괴롭게만 하게 하시는데 그 괴롭게 함은 전갈이 사람을 쏠 때에 괴롭게 함과 같더라
5 They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man.
6 그날에는 사람들이 죽기를 구하여도 얻지 못하고 죽고 싶으나 죽음이 저희를 피하리로다
6 During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.
7 황충들의 모양은 전쟁을 위하여 예비한 말들 같고 그 머리에 금 같은 면류관 비슷한 것을 썼으며 그 얼굴은 사람의 얼굴 같고
7 The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces.
8 또 여자의 머리털 같은 머리털이 있고 그 이는 사자의 이 같으며
8 Their hair was like women`s hair, and their teeth were like lions` teeth.
9 또 철흉갑 같은 흉갑이 있고 그 날개들의 소리는 병거와 많은 말들이 전장으로 달려 들어가는 소리 같으며
9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle.
10 또 전갈과 같은 꼬리와 쏘는 살이 있어 그 꼬리에는 다섯달 동안 사람들을 해하는 권세가 있더라
10 They had tails and stings like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months.
11 저희에게 임금이 있으니 무저갱의 사자라 히브리 음으로 이름은 아바돈이요 헬라 음으로 이름은 아볼루온이더라
11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.
12 첫째 화는 지나갔으나 보라 아직도 이 후에 화 둘이 이르리로다
12 The first woe is past; two other woes are yet to come.
13 여섯째 천사가 나팔을 불매 내가 들으니 하나님 앞 금단 네 뿔에서 한 음성이 나서
13 The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the horns of the golden altar that is before God.
14 나팔 가진 여섯째 천사에게 말하기를 큰 강 유브라데에 결박한 네 천사를 놓아 주라 하매
14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."
15 네 천사가 놓였으니 그들은 그 년 월 일 시에 이르러 사람 삼분의 일을 죽이기로 예비한 자들이더라
15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.
16 마병대의 수는 이만만이니 내가 그들의 수를 들었노라
16 The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.
17 이같이 이상한 가운데 그 말들과 그 탄 자들을 보니 불빛과 자주빛과 유황빛 흉갑이 있고 또 말들의 머리는 사자 머리 같고 그 입에서는 불과 연기와 유황이 나오더라
17 The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur.
18 이 세 재앙 곧 저희 입에서 나오는 불과 연기와 유황을 인하여 사람 삼분의 일이 죽임을 당하니라
18 A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.
19 이 말들의 힘은 그 입과 그 꼬리에 있으니 그 꼬리는 뱀 같고 또 꼬리에 머리가 있어 이것으로 해하더라
19 The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.
20 이 재앙에 죽지 않고 남은 사람들은 그 손으로 행하는 일을 회개치 아니하고 오히려 여러 귀신과 또는 보거나 듣거나 다니거나 하지 못하는 금, 은, 동과 목석의 우상에게 절하고
20 The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
21 또 그 살인과 복술과 음행과 도적질을 회개치 아니하더라
21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.잠언 (Proverbs)
19-20
1 성실히 행하는 가난한 자는 입술이 패려하고 미련한 자보다 나으니라
1 Better a poor man whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse.
2 지식 없는 소원은 선치 못하고 발이 급한 사람은 그릇하느니라
2 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.
3 사람이 미련하므로 자기 길을 굽게 하고 마음으로 여호와를 원망하느니라
3 A man`s own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.
4 재물은 많은 친구를 더하게 하나 가난한즉 친구가 끊어지느니라
4 Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man`s friend deserts him.
5 거짓 증인은 벌을 면치 못할 것이요 거짓말을 내는 자도 피치 못하리라
5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free.
6 너그러운 사람에게는 은혜를 구하는 자가 많고 선물을 주기를 좋아하는 자에게는 사람마다 친구가 되느니라
6 Many curry favor with a ruler, and everyone is the friend of a man who gives gifts.
7 가난한 자는 그 형제들에게도 미움을 받거든 하물며 친구야 그를 멀리 아니하겠느냐 따라가며 말하려 할찌라도 그들이 없어졌으리라
7 A poor man is shunned by all his relatives-- how much more do his friends avoid him! Though he pursues them with pleading, they are nowhere to be found.
8 지혜를 얻는 자는 자기 영혼을 사랑하고 명철을 지키는 자는 복을 얻느니라
8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers.
9 거짓 증인은 벌을 면치 못할 것이요 거짓말을 내는 자는 망할 것이니라
9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will perish.
10 미련한 자가 사치하는 것이 적당치 못하거든 하물며 종이 방백을 다스림이랴
10 It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury-- how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!
11 노하기를 더디하는 것이 사람의 슬기요 허물을 용서하는 것이 자기의 영광이니라
11 A man`s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
12 왕의 노함은 사자의 부르짖음 같고 그의 은택은 풀 위에 이슬 같으니라
12 A king`s rage is like the roar of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
13 미련한 아들은 그 아비의 재앙이요 다투는 아내는 이어 떨어지는 물방울이니라
13 A foolish son is his father`s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping.
14 집과 재물은 조상에게서 상속하거니와 슬기로운 아내는 여호와께로서 말미암느니라
14 Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.
15 게으름이 사람으로 깊이 잠들게 하나니 해태한 사람은 주릴 것이니라
15 Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless man goes hungry.
16 계명을 지키는 자는 자기의 영혼을 지키거니와 그 행실을 삼가지 아니하는 자는 죽으리라
16 He who obeys instructions guards his life, but he who is contemptuous of his ways will die.
17 가난한 자를 불쌍히 여기는 것은 여호와께 꾸이는 것이니 그 선행을 갚아 주시리라
17 He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.
18 네가 네 아들에게 소망이 있은즉 그를 징계하고 죽일 마음은 두지 말찌니라
18 Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death.
19 노하기를 맹렬히 하는 자는 벌을 받을 것이라 네가 그를 건져 주면 다시 건져 주게 되리라
19 A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty; if you rescue him, you will have to do it again.
20 너는 권고를 들으며 훈계를 받으라 그리하면 네가 필경은 지혜롭게 되리라
20 Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.
21 사람의 마음에는 많은 계획이 있어도 오직 여호와의 뜻이 완전히 서리라
21 Many are the plans in a man`s heart, but it is the LORD`s purpose that prevails.
22 사람은 그 인자함으로 남에게 사모함을 받느니라 가난한 자는 거짓말 하는 자보다 나으니라
22 What a man desires is unfailing love ; better to be poor than a liar.
23 여호와를 경외하는 것은 사람으로 생명에 이르게 하는것이라 경외하는 자는 족하게 지내고 재앙을 만나지 아니하느니라
23 The fear of the LORD leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.
24 게으른 자는 그 손을 그릇에 넣고도 입으로 올리기를 괴로와하느니라
24 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not even bring it back to his mouth!
25 거만한 자를 때리라 그리하면 어리석은 자도 경성하리라 명철한 자를 견책하라 그리하면 그가 지식을 얻으리라
25 Flog a mocker, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke a discerning man, and he will gain knowledge.
26 아비를 구박하고 어미를 쫓아 내는 자는 부끄러움을 끼치며 능욕을 부르는 자식이니라
26 He who robs his father and drives out his mother is a son who brings shame and disgrace.
27 내 아들아 지식의 말씀에서 떠나게 하는 교훈을 듣지 말찌니라
27 Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.
28 망령된 증인은 공의를 업신 여기고 악인의 입은 죄악을 삼키느니라
28 A corrupt witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down evil.
29 심판은 거만한 자를 위하여 예비된 것이요 채찍은 어리석은 자의 등을 위하여 예비된 것이니라
29 Penalties are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
20장
1 포도주는 거만케 하는 것이요 독주는 떠들게 하는 것이라 무릇 이에 미혹되는 자에게는 지혜가 없느니라
1 Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
2 왕의 진노는 사자의 부르짖음 같으니 그를 노하게 하는 것은 자기의 생명을 해하는 것이니라
2 A king`s wrath is like the roar of a lion; he who angers him forfeits his life.
3 다툼을 멀리 하는 것이 사람에게 영광이어늘 미련한 자마다 다툼을 일으키느니라
3 It is to a man`s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
4 게으른 자는 가을에 밭 갈지 아니하나니 그러므로 거둘 때에는 구걸할찌라도 얻지 못하리라
4 A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing.
5 사람의 마음에 있는 모략은 깊은 물 같으니라 그럴찌라도 명철한 사람은 그것을 길어 내느니라
5 The purposes of a man`s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.
6 많은 사람은 각기 자기의 인자함을 자랑하나니 충성된 자를 누가 만날 수 있으랴
6 Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?
7 완전히 행하는 자가 의인이라 그 후손에게 복이 있느니라
7 The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.
8 심판 자리에 앉은 왕은 그 눈으로 모든 악을 흩어지게 하느니라
8 When a king sits on his throne to judge, he winnows out all evil with his eyes.
9 내가 내 마음을 정하게 하였다 내 죄를 깨끗하게 하였다 할 자가 누구뇨
9 Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?
10 한결 같지 않은 저울 추와 말은 다 여호와께서 미워하시느니라
10 Differing weights and differing measures-- the LORD detests them both.
11 비록 아이라도 그 동작으로 자기의 품행의 청결하며 정직한 여부를 나타내느니라
11 Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.
12 듣는 귀와 보는 눈은 다 여호와의 지으신 것이니라
12 Ears that hear and eyes that see-- the LORD has made them both.
13 너는 잠자기를 좋아하지 말라 네가 빈궁하게 될까 두려우니라 네 눈을 뜨라 그리하면 양식에 족하리라
13 Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare.
14 사는 자가 물건이 좋지 못하다 좋지 못하다 하다가 돌아간 후에는 자랑하느니라
14 It`s no good, it`s no good! says the buyer; then off he goes and boasts about his purchase.
15 세상에 금도 있고 진주도 많거니와 지혜로운 입술이 더욱 귀한 보배니라
15 Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.
16 타인을 위하여 보증이 된 자의 옷을 취하라 외인들의 보증이 된 자는 그 몸을 볼모잡힐찌니라
16 Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger; hold it in pledge if he does it for a wayward woman.
17 속이고 취한 식물은 맛이 좋은듯하나 후에는 그 입에 모래가 가득하게 되리라
17 Food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel.
18 무릇 경영은 의논함으로 성취하나니 모략을 베풀고 전쟁할찌니라
18 Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance.
19 두루 다니며 한담하는 자는 남의 비밀을 누설하나니 입술을 벌린 자를 사귀지 말찌니라
19 A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.
20 자기의 아비나 어미를 저주하는 자는 그 등불이 유암 중에 꺼짐을 당하리라
20 If a man curses his father or mother, his lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness.
21 처음에 속히 잡은 산업은 마침내 복이 되지 아니하느니라
21 An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end.
22 너는 악을 갚겠다 말하지 말고 여호와를 기다리라 그가 너를 구원하시리라
22 Do not say, "I`ll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.
23 한결 같지 않은 저울 추는 여호와의 미워하시는 것이요 속이는 저울은 좋지 못한 것이니라
23 The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please him.
24 사람의 걸음은 여호와께로서 말미암나니 사람이 어찌 자기의 길을 알 수 있으랴
24 A man`s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?
25 함부로 이 물건을 거룩하다 하여 서원하고 그 후에 살피면 그것이 그물이 되느니라
25 It is a trap for a man to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider his vows.
26 지혜로운 왕은 악인을 키질 하며 타작하는 바퀴로 그 위에 굴리느니라
26 A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them.
27 사람의 영혼은 여호와의 등불이라 사람의 깊은 속을 살피느니라
27 The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man ; it searches out his inmost being.
28 왕은 인자와 진리로 스스로 보호하고 그 위도 인자함으로 말미암아 견고하니라
28 Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure.
29 젊은 자의 영화는 그 힘이요 늙은 자의 아름다운 것은 백발이니라
29 The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old.
30 상하게 때리는 것이 악을 없이 하나니 매는 사람의 속에 깊이 들어가느니라
30 Blows and wounds cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being.
